maclatunji:
I did suggest this:

What is happening to this thread is that it is not attracting enough new people (those that haven't seen it before) to it anymore. Hence, why not start my idea in a new thread? I don't want to start the thread myself because I don't want breakdown in communication and misunderstandings. TeHN should take it up, put it on front page and I and others will support by promoting it. In addition, we need TeHN to work with other popular websites/blogs, Linda Ikeji, Bella Naija etc to get more awareness for Perx. If they want to contribute directly to Perx- no problem, if they want to go through TeHN- equally good. I think that since we are all involved, we can make a push to make this an unmitigated success with the grace of God.
Great idea.
Kindly start the thread and interlink both threads.

@Perx,no fears,It is well.

Are u already married or still @ the dating phase ?

You have problems with "Nigerian rules" ? Don't date a Nigerian. . .its that simple.

btw,which is your headache?
Your MIL,Nigerian silly laws,forcing son to marry a hand-picked bride,pressure for a boy child ?

You wanna learn/know?ask politely and with an open mind.

Chei, this girl na proper mumu!Who lets a whole dep. Gov smell(not to talk of see and touch) her most wanted possession without atleast "3 choice properties". . .no dulling or jokes!

Choi.See cheapness.Boy,did they say she went to pick rents?Lets just thank God she did not get paid cos going with her 'mumuic' tendencies, had she collected it,she would have used it to buy the dep. gov gulder and peppersoup. She go sell herself for half toro, not even a penny.

btw,the dep. Gov stingy oh,shuo!.Agreed the girl was cheap but 10K?Oh my,an okadaman would do better than that.

. . . Not that i believe the story sef.

Culture › Re: The Future Of Igbo Highlife Music by ifyalways(f): 9:38am On Feb 10, 2012
^Beats me too why anyone wud refer to Flavor's music as 'hihg life'?I like the dude fine, but his music as highlife?that is a SIN.period.

@Topic,High life is NOT dead in Igboland, the question is,do we still appreciate high life? What do we have these days?In traditional ceremonies(marriages, funeral, chieftancy) you hear all sorts of ridiculous music ranging from the Okoye boys to 2shot.Not hating but those songs are meant for the dancehall and a huge shame when we import them to the traditional function.

I still have cd's of and enjoy,Mazeli,afam Ogbotogbp(Onitsha),Ogene boys(Awka),Sunny bobo,Saro wiwa etc.

And an observation,I think,Imo and delta are still very much doing well in 'highlife appreciation',same can't be said for Anambra,Enugu,Ebonyi,Abia etc.

@OP,when was the last time u bought a highlife CD?when was the last time you downloaded/listened to one on youtube?

Anything not appreciated would go into extinct, someday.
Nairaland General › Re: Please Help Nairalander Perx - And She Went Home: RIP Perx by ifyalways(f): 11:28am On Feb 09, 2012

Nairaland General › Re: Please Help Nairalander Perx - And She Went Home: RIP Perx by ifyalways(f): 11:12am On Feb 09, 2012
Jenny, fly in as in from Lagos to Benin not abroad.lol
Things were kept in the pipeline till we are sure and confirmed.
The doctor was consulting free,so we could not dictate pace of things.

Would update the new surgery plan and costs now.

Once again,we accept full responsibility for the communication break down.
Nairaland General › Re: Please Help Nairalander Perx - And She Went Home: RIP Perx by ifyalways(f): 11:02am On Feb 09, 2012
Jenny,we did not send Perx to the hospital for surgery.Perx is an adult, dont forget. Our action plan, which was on the first page of this thread was :
To keep her online for 3 months.
Pay for her drugs and upkeep for 3 months.
Support her with funds for surgery(depending on how much we raised here)

And because of the high cost of going abroad for surgery,we started looking for surgeons here in Nigeria to atleast get a professional advice. We got 1,he would have been in Benin today but Perx went to the hospital,to her former doctor that referred her abroad(her own decision),4 days ago.

So now,Perx needs our prayers more than anything else.
NO,we have not raised enough funds for the surgery.
We would be publishing the new surgery costs and a spreadsheet of the funds we got.

Thank you

Jenny, some things don't happen as/when planned when a humans life is involved.

We are sorry for not updating the thread,we accept full responsibility for that but some things came up,which we were sorting out underground. We couldn't have come out here to give 'incomplete updates'

Perx made the decision of going in for surgery herself,we got to know a tad too late, when she was already in the hospital. We were working on flying down a doctor to benin for a second opinion and observation but Perx was already in hospital so we had a brief communication break down in the last 3 days. All is well now.
