Foreign AffairsRe: The Great Nation Of Biafra by Ifygurl: 1:14am On Oct 23, 2008
QuotaSyste:
Enyi shut up your mouth there. Carry that your useless preaching to your awusa cousins. Am sure they will accept you and not behead you. What does being born before or during the war has to do with knowledge of the war and it's atrocities against my people? You should have told us pulp and plain not to go to school for education because in your lost case, there is no need for it. I wonder how you knew who died and who didn't die in your family during the war since you weren't born then.

According to your warped logic, you shouldn't have known all those, since them never born you before or during the war. Let me hear you tell stories or even discuss about what happened before your were born and see how am going to chase you off this forum. What happens to education and learning? Ohhh, i guess we should wipe off our history because it concerns Igbos and Biafra, but we should have no problem discussing other people's history? Fish brain. Your only difference with nigerians is your culture and customs ehhh kwa? Okay, you should go and preach that to the awusas when they start killing you in masse again in their northern enclave and lets see if they will hear you well.

If you want to preach peace for your beloved nigeria, you can do that without telling us Igbo/Biafrans to forget our history, a sad one for that matter. Are you mad? Have you ever heard about the saying: you can never know where you are going, if you do not know exactly where you are coming from? Have you asked yourself how you can build your dream nigeria without first admitting and conceding to your past wicked errors against Igbos, healing the wounds on people's minds, making and getting everyone involve to believe in your dream nigeria through equality for all?

You just want us to wipe it under the carpet and move on with your one nigeria? Perhaps we are not humans and we are without feelings? Is this how America reconciled after their own civil war and later became the greatest nation on earth that they are today? Don't bring that your mad preaching here again. You can follow them back to ugwu awusa, but remember to run towards Igboland when they start to search for you to hack off your head for their religious rituals just because you are Igbo.
Okay Are you an Idiot? I'm Igbo slowpoke and so what if i have a Fulani grandfather. I'm proud of him and i love him(unlike ya'll he actually see people instead of tribe). Ewensu. Abeg, Get out.

DID I SAY FORGET OUR HISTORY? Trabilist idiot will only read what they want to read.  I SAID ENOUGH WITH DIVIDING OTHERS.  and with all i've obeserved from topics made by massob people and the rest of those other trabilist. ENOUGH WITH INSULTING OTHER TRIBES.
Abeg, commot for my face. How many education have you gotten.  Look at the kettle calling pot black.

And mr.man
If you can't read. MY UNCLE AND COUSIN survived the war and so did my parents and my grandmom and alot of my family members, so yea i'll know who in my family fought for the war and who died. Ewu. Get out of my face abeg, trabilist fools.  I don't even know why i try to reason with you people; most of ya'll have a brain of a retard.
Foreign AffairsRe: The Great Nation Of Biafra by Ifygurl: 12:15am On Oct 23, 2008
I love my tribe and i love my people but i'm tired of seeing this kind of thread.  Most of you guys weren't even born when Biafra was around so what the hell Jeez, enough with this division, you massob people are trying to create. It's annoying. angry angry

P.S: Don't even dare say i don't know anything about Biafra.  Both my parents experienced that war and i have family members that fought and died for that country. So abeg, i'm going to follow their footstep. My uncle fought for Biafra during the war and so did my grandfather from my mother's side and alot of my cousin. The only ones that survived is my uncle and one of my cousin and both of them actually believe Nigeria will thrive if we actually stop seeing different ethnic group and notice that we are all the same(from skin color down to everything else). Our only difference is our culture and customs(which if we work hard enough we can blend it). Latin America blended all the culture and customs that came to their countries. Nigeria can do that also.

I know Anambra governor deserve to be in the level they put him in.
He does alot for that state but for others, me i no no. Maybe they deserve it, maybe they don't.

Last time(this 2008) my mama went to naija she said Lagos is different from what it was in 2004(the last time i went to naija)so maybe the lagos guy deserve his spot.
I know Anambra guy deserves it also. I pray he becomes president of Nigeria. He isn't corrupt like someone we know(cough Obasanjo cough the rest of Naija past president cough)

JustGood:
what's the hoopla about?

Dpnt they have a constitutional right to make laws forbidding certain things?

I'm not saying I support freedom restrictions but why must anything that opposes western ways be criticised? Why is it that the western media has to highlight all the things that don't seem to agree with whatever they love and paint such things negatively?

Why did they not, for instance, compare the situation in the North to that in the South? They chose to focus solely on that which suits them.
Thank you. That's exactly what i'm trying to say but you worded it much more better than i did.
Music/RadioRe: Cnn News On Nigerian Hiphop Musicians--they Always Focus On The Negative by Ifygurl(op): 7:50am On Oct 20, 2008
I didn't start this forum. Just so people can start insulting the North okay.

And USman, i said 11 years or SO. I WASN'T SURE. I was using what CNN said.

At the girl that asked if i support it.

Hell No i don't support it but the policitians still have the right to keep their tradition. Sometimes they need to wake up and see the world is changing but if they want to keep their side traditional then they are allowed to do that. It ain't like this is the first time they've done that.

And i agree with you, it's really stupid to jail someone for just music but oh well na their tradition dey want to keep.
Music/RadioRe: Cnn News On Nigerian Hiphop Musicians--they Always Focus On The Negative by Ifygurl(op): 11:01am On Oct 19, 2008
MC Usman:
What’s so special about hip hops in the south that demand that CNN must document them? There are more popular musicians from other tiny west Africa countries that have made waves internationally decades before the likes of Dbang , 2face & P2 knew the meaning of piano. As the reporter rightly said, millions of these music’s would be sold throughout West African Countries that on his own makes it worth reporting.

Censorship board exists even in the south and Hollywood. If artist release videos without censorship approval then they should be ready to face the full wrath of the law.
Okay why do a video of the government mistreating musicians just because they decided to add hip-hop into the traditional music the northerners are listening to.

Did you even watch the video? They weren't trying to censure a little. They wanted to cancel it off just because it's hip-hop.  I know your from the North and you have to defend your side(i understand that but there are some stuff you can't defend). People are losing their jobs just because the government is forcing them to close down. The musicians have to spent 11 or so years in jail for doing hip-hop music.  That's negativity but the right way. Telling us about those Nigerian politician that really needs to get off politics

But Anway

Since i was a child, people always say that the northern part of Nigeria likes doing stuff different from the south that they are real traditional.  and even though i don't stand with the governors i'll still say is that even really worth doing a report on.  That a traditional part of nigeria wants to keep their tradition and they want those that wants to change it to leave. Jermiah Gyang is a musician(but he only sings religious song). And yet most of his song has to be sold in the South(till this day i don't understand that cause it's a religious song but oh well).  Eedris is from the North and he raps judging by what's going on in the North towards rappers. I'm assuming he left because of that or maybe his born in lagos(who knows).  But like i said before, if people wants to keep their tradition and not let anything else come between it; then you don't have to plaste them all over the world just because you want to label a continent as a trouble contient.
Seriously i watched a video from this western news about Calabar women getting fatten up before marriage and the news guys made it look as if those girls were being forced to that.  it's their tradition and they don't want to change it so why flash it all over the world and try to bring negativity to it just like they did with the governors wanting to keep northern music traditional.

Like i said before if they wanted to do a video about hip-hop musician then they should have done it in the south, since hip-hop is allowed their and the governors could careless if it's traditional or not; hell parents could careless also. And i'm not talking about other african countries; i'm talking about Nigeria only. If they wanted to do a really wanted to do a good video about some old internationally naija musician then they should have done it on Fela Kuti(simple as that).

It negativity and nothing more.  I don't see anything positive about that news report except teaching us that the Northerners punishment can be extremely excessive(i mean 11 years for just doing a music?). But anyway, people aren't allowed to try to keep their tradition the way it is just because the west see it as a bad thing?

Music/RadioCnn News On Nigerian Hiphop Musicians--they Always Focus On The Negative by Ifygurl(op): 5:13am On Oct 19, 2008
CNN decided to do a video about Nigerian hiphop musicians. They ignored all the southern musicians and decided to focus on the North.
It seems the northern hiphop musicians are being attcked by their governors, etc for trying to promote hiphop in that part of Nigeria.

What amazes me is how CNN ignored doing a video about Tuface when his African Queen song went global. They ignored Dbanj when he won Mobo award. They ignored 9ice when he made his Gongo Aso song go (well not global but famous in all of Africa). They ignored all the other Nigerian musician we know that are making waves in Nigeria music industry and Africa(hell they even ignored Eedris( a guy that got into a fight with 50 cent). I mean damn Eedris is from the North.

This is the reason people only see negative stuff about Africa. Their media intentionally tries to show negative stuff. If the Northerners are abusing the musician, then the musicians should come to where they won't be abused; it's not like he needs a visa to travel to the southern part of Nigeria.( We listen to anything as long as a naija musician made it). We even listen to hausa music, if it sounds good we listen to it.
Take Jeremiah Gyang for example. I love all his song even though i can't understand them.

CNN always try to scope out the negative stuff in Africa even if the positive is standing right in their face for so many years.

Here't the link to the video. I tried posting the video but this website won't allow it.

CultureIs Abuja a northern state? by Ifygurl(op): 10:31pm On Oct 18, 2008
According to some people in this website, they claim Abuja is a northern state but Abuja is in the center of Nigeria.
Meaning it really doesn't belong to neither regions(South or North) so why do nigerians call it a Northern state?

Did we classify it as one? I just want to know.
CultureRe: Zimbabwean Women by Ifygurl: 9:59pm On Oct 18, 2008
I've never seen a naija guy with a South African.  I didn't even know that kind of combination occured.  I've heard and seen Naija guys with kenyans, Ghanaian, Nigerians, Ethiopians, Eritreans, Ivory coast, mostly all west and east African countries and Angola but never South Africans.

Ohh do you mean only Zimbabwe? If so then that's cute cause Zimbabwians are cute.  Their females are pretty(the one's i've seen) but south Africans on the other hand aren't so much(the one's i've seen).  The cute ones from SA i've seen are usually mixed or something but the full ones(i haven't seen a cute one yetbut who knows the girls in ludacris videos were pretty).

And Angelheart if a Nigerian guy broke up with you.  GET OVER IT. Jeez no wonder he broke up with you your too whiny?

And for the guys saying Nigerian girls aren't submissive and we are too loud.
We are fine with that.  If we have to follow a guy around like a damn dog then forget it i rather not get married  than be that submissive to a man i married.
Forget that.

Okay before you make assumptions. Make sure it's the right thing.
Abi, when last you heard an Igbo man is the president of Nigeria or are you talking about Governor, Well mr. Superman

1.) My parents ARE NOT in politics in NIGERIA. My father makes his money by actually working for it.
2.) My parents families love traveling and we ALL take vacation together, once in a while my parents takes a vacation just for my family only(meaning me, my sis, my bro and my father).
3.) My uncle is the one who pays most for the vacation(we take as a whole family). The one's my parents does just for my family(My father and brother pays for it).
4.) My Uncle owns an international school in Nigeria which he built with HIS OWN MONEY and the ones he borrowed from all his family members(His not in politics also).  And What do you know, his teachers are YOUNG NIGERIANS. The school brings in money for him and he is able to travel and lucky for me, he likes bringing everyone in his family(at least the ones he like).
5.) I never said my parents were rich.  My parents are moderate, my father teaches in America and my mother owns her own shop in America and in Nigeria.  And what do you know, she hires both young Nigerians and young African-Americans.
6.) My brother works in a hospital(his a doctor) so his able to pay for some of my family vacations.  And he plans on moving back to Nigeria to finish his pratice in Nigeria because he wants to help Nigerians(both young and old).
7.) My sister works in a bank and she's also able to pay for my family's vacation.
6.) Don't you EVER compare my family to those idiotic politicians in Nigeria. Don't you even dare.
7.) I can see you like trouble so this is the last time i'm going to reply.
If you want hate Kenya, at least the place and the people have a better heart than you.  angry

plus who said that she is jelous anyway? i was reffering to @ikeyman00
Okay.  I thought you were talking to me and i didn't say it gave the wrong impression. I said some parts weren't exactly as the picture.

She's allowed to post whatever she wants. And i said SOME of the pictures weren't the same as what's on the pic.  I didn't say ALL were like that.  Hell even SOME pic of the buildings looked better in real life.
Narobi is a beautiful city(from my own experience) and you shouldn't insult someone just because you don't like it.
How would you feel if someone started posting pictures of Tinapa or Victoria Island and people started insulting Nigeria just because they don't like it.
You won't like that would you?

You shouldn't insult people or their country.  I urge you to go to Nairobi, It is really beautiful and trust me you'll like it.

so if this pics are mileading then i assume that all those pictures have been photoshoped, right? huh i think its just guys being jelous nothing else. some of these nigerians can't come to terms with the fact that with all the oil and big economy they cannot organise and clean a city while a poorer country with no oil or any minerals has managed atleast to organise and clean up the central business district of their major city. i mean nigerians can build a city from scratch but can't clean up one of africas largest city(lagos)? u know kenyans know that their city is bigger than windheok but yet nairobi city planners admit that windheok is cleaner and well managed thats why they are flocking windheok just to learn from them, but nigerians can't seem to admit that someone else doing something better than them. there is an old adage that says, PRIDE COMES BEFORE A FALL!!!!! and that is what these jelous nigerians are suffering from.
Jealous of what?
Is Narobi better than the New Abuja?
Is it better than Victoria island in Lagos? Answer: No

With all your tourist, Nigeria so called uncleaned City is the ones hosting almost every events done in Africa.

What am i suppose to be jealous of anyway?
What exactly, if i was a poor girl and saw some major beautiful stuff in Kenya then i'll get jealous.
And yes, I printed all the pics in this topic and was showing people in Kenya so i can see the places for myself. And it was exactly as it looked in this forum. Some looked different, some looked better and some looked worse.
That's the reason it mislead me. Cause alot weren't exactly as it suppose to be.

I grew up in Enugu and lived in Victoria Island in Nigeria and then moved to USA so what am i suppose to be jealous of? You fit get beta life than me?

Abeg, Lagos isn't the only city in Nigeria and the side you guys know. Its the poverty side. There are two sides to lagos(poor and rich).
And Abuja, Kano, Kaduna,Anambra, Calabar, etc are cities in Nigeria also.  Abuja and calabar are the best ones in my views cause i've been to all. My parents like traveling.

What am i suppose to be jealous of? If i said i hated Narobi then that's jealousy cause i didn't hate the place. I hated the people's attitude but not the place.
If i didn't live in Victoria Island, if i didn't see the new building in Lagos this year, If i didn't see the new building in Calabar or if i haven't visited New Abuja then i'll be jealous of Narobi.
If i haven't been to South Africa and seen both the good and bad of that country, then i'll be jealous.
I thought Narobi will be different that's the only reason i suggested that place for family vacation, we would have gone to jamaica like my sister wanted but i suggest Narobi cause i wanted to see the place.

Sorry for going to your country and commenting about it.
Jeez. Fine next time i won't go to Narobi. I'll go to Jamaica like my sister wanted.
I'm so  sorry for stepping foot in your country and then talking about it.  Sorry. I except to see the same thing i saw in this topic in Narobi and i didn't.
I'm sorry for speaking my mind.
@ Afrinese
Your a stupid girl. I said Narobi isn't as the picture claim. Where did i say Nigeria is better?
I'll admit Narobi is better than Lagos but not better than Victoria Island in Lagos(research the place if you want).
I'll admit Narobi is better than Enugu but not better than Abuja.
I'll admit Narobi is better than Kano but not better than Calabar(their obudu cattle ranch and tinapa).

Jeez if i said i hated that country then i'll understand all this yelling and screaming. Like i said before I'm Sorry for going to Narobi. I won't go there ever again since i can't even say what i say in that part. Sorry.
Jeez i was thinking of going to another kenya city but if this is how the people in that country then what's the use. I only went to Narobi; i wonder how you'll guys will react if i went to other parts of Kenya. God damn sorry. Forgive me.

@ the girl that called me slow.
Thank you.  Trust me i'm not going to Narobi again since the people of that country hates someone saying what they saw.  angry

P.S: To Kenyans
I'm so sorry for talking about Narobi and i'm very sorry for going there and not saying only good things, etc.  Sorry. It will never happen again. Next time i'll keep my mouth shut  lipsrsealed Okay. Are you guys happy now? Sorry.

For Naija peoples

Anyway, Naija peoples my mom wants to go to another African country for christmas.  She's thinking of Egypt, Madagascar, Seychelles, Mauritius or Ethiopia? Which do you suggest?
I suggested Mauritius cause it's an island and i love Islands like Jamaica and Hawaii. But what do you guys think?
My parents and their family especially my father's side love traveling so i'm lucky i get to travel alot.
So what you guys think Mauritius, Seychelles, Ethiopia or Egypt? Which is the best christmas vacation?
I'm thinking of Cabo verde? My friend is from there and she said it's a beautiful country.
Anyway if any Naija person have been to those countries hit me up and tell me which one is better.
I've been to Egypt before but my mom loves the place. She like the desert and pyramid so she added that country to the list.
Anyway you tell me which one you like best and is Cabo verde beautiful also. I know it's an island that's the only reason i'm interested in the place. I love Islands.
Anyway just say, this for all Africans, not just Nigerians.

I wonder if the 5% Nigerians that does 419 makes the whole Nigerians criminals and corrupt.
I wonder what she'll say of her own people(Black Americans thatare drug-dealers and gang members which i kno are also a small percentage).

Massob or whatever. I'm Igbo and i agree with alot of the Yoruba/Hausa's here. OMG move on from the past and return to the present. I don't see the Biafra war happening now.
Okay now. Igbo people yes many of our people haven't been president and the only one that was was Nnamdi Azikiwe. He was among the best leaders Nigeria had. He did his job right but people we should stop blaming each other for everything and for godsake work together to take care our people. Jeez, if the president isn't going to help, then lets hope the governors of each state in Nigeria will. Take Anambra for example: The new Governor is doing the best he can to bring that state out of the misery past governor put it into. And his trying his best to make that state one of the best in Nigeria and my mother recently visited there and she just couldn't stop saying what his doing. Lets just pray for a better tomorrow. I know Nigeria has more tribes than all African countries but it's a shame how much we argue over.
