Sierra leones were the ones who started Pidigin but called it Krio. Krio and pidigin is the same. The only difference is in Naija Pidigin has some yoruba, hausa and igbo dialects mixed with it. I read that we got that language from slaves who came to Africa(I.E: Sierra leones). They are the ones who began it and Nigerians made it popular.

That's why i agree we should make pidgin the main language in Nigeria. Hell maybe Africa.
Our people started it so we should make it our own instead of copying others.
Haiti speaks creole as a main language(That's pidgin also but different).
Naija people we communicate with Pidgin more than we communicate with regular English. It will be a perfect First Language.

Sierra Leonians speak pidgin that is VERY similar to Naija pidgin English. My hairdresser is from Sierra Leone and when she speaks pidgin English, you will think she is a Naija. I can barely differentiate between Naija and Sierra Leone pidgin English.

Me too. Growing up in Naija. In our house Pidgin English was forbidden. My mama and my father can speak it but they didn't teach it to us.
Atleast they taught us Igbo.
My sister and brother learnt how to speak it from friends.
Me on the other hand i'm slowly learning.
I can read and understand it but i can't speak it or write it yet.
My parents don't care anymore if we speak broken english in the House. My mother even agreed that pidgin should be Naija main language.
Maybe in the future i'll know how to speak and write it.

We sure as hell got arrested in Middle of the Night for sleeping in MY OWN CAR
It wasn't until DMV checked out that the car original belongs to me. We was released and they started apologizing(just because all my papers wasn't in my name but my mothers).
We have the same last name, it's not like we have different names.
Hell, I even called my mother for her to explain that all the papers are in her name.
But yet, i was arrested for sleeping in a car that's was mine.
They claimed that some guy called them and told them two girls were trying to break into a car.
How the Bleep was me and my bestfriend trying to break into a car, when we were just sleeping.
I mean seriously i didn't even get out of the car, all we did was packed it.
I was driving from Virginia to Newyork.
And we parked so we can rest for a minute before we start driving again.
And i got arrested for sleeping in my own car,
if that's not fucking conspriacy.
I wanna know what the hell it is?
Cause that shit wasn't even suppose to happen(i had all my papers and my goddamned driver license)
And i still had to go downtown and wait in a freaking cell until DMV opened up again.
I swear don't these police officers have everything written down in some computer;
why the hell did me and my bestfriend had to stay in a goddamned prison with a group of fucking convicts(That's scaried the hell out of us) for godddamned 7 hours waiting for DMV to approve that my OWN car belongs to me.
Seriously, if my mother gave them her driver license number.
Wasn't that suppose to prove that everything was registered in her name?

And i do agree with You. Nigerians needs to start going back to Nigeria to help.
Everyone of them is complaining but they are not doing Anything about it.
When i learned about Government in Class.
I learned Nigeria really doesn't know much about how government works.

For example: I learnt that schools are created by Governors, not Presidents.
The only difference is the president Sponsor them(For example: The Anambra governor is opening up new medical schools in Anambra) and according to what i heard Anambra governor seems to be the only decent governor in Nigeria
Other Governor are waiting for the president to do what's suppose to be their jobs.

Another thing i learnt in Government was Governor are the one's who brings investment in their state
And the president brings investment for the country.

Nigeria governors are not even trying to bring investment in the state they govern(I don't even know what the hell they doing)(Hell they may even steal everything).

Nigeria uses United States way of government and yet we are not even doing what the constitution and bill of right and all that bull says.

I'm not going to Lie, Nigerians aboard sickens me.
I'm Nigerian and i live in the USA but i'm here for my education and i'm still a student.
When i'm done with everything and i get my medical degree. I'm moving back Nigeria to help as many people as i can.
I told myself i'll open up a free clinic(which we really need in Nigeria) and also i'll teach people what i learnt when i was in America.
Even if i die poor doing it. I don't care as long as i help my people.

Ever since Abacha died, Nigeria economy is growing each year.
Right now Nigeria has the highest growing in Africa(We used to be 2nd growing economy in Africa right behind South Africa then Xenophobia started and their economy started falling).
Nigeria has the HIGHEST growing Economy in Africa and also ONE of the highest growing economy in the World(well for now, lets just hope it doesn't drop).
Nigeria economy growth rate is now 6.8%.

Yea it's true, Obasanjo stole millions of money from Nigeria. I always taught he didn't do anything for nigeria when he was president.
Until i started Researching about Nigeria that i learnt our economy started increasing during his time as president and Yaradua kept it growing more.
But i have to tell ya'll.
If it wasn't for "Soludo" Our economy wouldn't be increasing each year.  That man has been doing all the job ever since he took over Nigerian Banks.


But Nigeria still has the one of highest Unemployment rate in Africa(Sad isn't it).

Nigeria GDP ranks 49 out 190 nations since 2008
In 2007 it was 173 out of 190 nations(To me, that's a huge Jump).
Nigeria GDP is said to reach $216.4billion in 2008(Let's hope to God, Nigerians sees those money)
N-way in 2007 Nigeria GDP was $166billion

Nigeria is also ranks No. 35 with a 6.8 percent in terms of growth rate.

Other countries have joined to help Yaradua reach that one of the Top 20 countries in the year of 2010 goal of his.
One country i can remeber right now is Thiliand(Lets just hope they joined to help Nigeria,  and Not to Use Nigeria) (Let's just pray for that).

According to UN, Africa economy is increasing and Nigeria and South Africa are the one's leading the increase.

But one thing i also learned was some parts of Nigeria is living as a third-world country especially those living in the Northern part of Nigeria and Niger-delta

Nigeria is also listed among the "Next Eleven" economies(Egypt and Nigeria are the only African countries in that list).

And also ever since Xenophobia started in South Africa.  Nigeria, Ghana, and other African countries has been receiving investments from countries and companies who wanted in invest in South Africa but decided not to(Nigeria and Ghana seems to receive the most).
Nigeria also has been hosting some events South Africa was suppose to do(For example: Noami campbell Africa rising festival)

Nigeria was also places in the league of eight sub-Saharan African countries, heading towards emerging market status.
Alot of countries and people has been investing in Nigeria and according to International Monetary Fund (IMF), Nigeria also has some potential investors.

According to IMF,  Nigeria is now put as a "frontier emerging market"
That doesn't mean out market is great and strong, it just means we are moving forward to it.

Nigeria has been getting alot of money and investments, let just hope to God that Nigerian people and Nigeria(ourcountry) actually see those money(Let's hope to God that our policitians don't steal all of those from us).

That's why Nigeria is labeled in a developing/underdeveloped country
Nigeria is in both list.
But according to the UN, Nigeria is developing.
But we are still in both list.

Secondly, i actually read up on what's going on in that country, i have family members who still lives in that country that will tells me everything that goes on in that country. I understand that Nigeria does have a bad name but after reading almost all your post, i can tell either your not a Nigerian or your just stupid.

1.) Nigeria has the 2nd highest growing economy in Africa and it's 50% living in poverty but 1% is too high if you ask me.

2.) Americans do HIDE alot of stories from the PUBLIC(ask any American and they will tell you). They hide police brutality, black on white beating or white on black beating. Any American that went to other countries and start some shit in that country(For example: I read a news in Allafrica.com , that an American woman tricked a rebel into attacking some company in Nigeria, based on what she said, later they traced her down though, still in Nigeria till this day, but that shit was not in the America news).

3.) You people are right, I'm tired of defending Nigeria's image based on what some idiots are doing but how in the hell are WE glorifying those behavior. If i know the Nigeria i grew up in the criminals are the most hated people in that country. If you talking about music or movies are we going to say America glorify drug dealings because that's what their musicians are singing about and that's what their movies are talking about(that's just stupid).

4.) When a country is doing good, or moving up, other countries ends up hating them. Again Take America for example, the most hated country in the world. Ppl insults them, say they are stupid, they are corrupt, they force themselves into ppls business, they attack others, etc. People just hate others for no reason.

5.) Nigerians are migrating into other African countries, just like other African people are migrating into Nigeria. Are we going to put a bullet on other Africans cause we don't have enough to take them in, they themselves don't have enough to take us in.

6.) The reason there is a PROBLEM in Nigeria is because of NIGERIANS.  In America, Nigerians are doctors, lawayers, hell even politicians but yet we are not going back home to get into the medical field to SAVE the health of our own people. Or take the shit you learn about politics in America and run for presidency in Nigeria. Nigerians aboard are one of the reason Nigeria is bleeped up cause you guys have what it takes to save that country.
I personally after my education in America, after i get my doctors degree. I'm leaving America and going back and see who I'm going to save even if i don't make money from it, I'll help as many people as i can.

7.) Those that keep insulting polygamy(that's not something i support) but if a man wants to marry more than one wife, let him that has ALWAYS been AFRICAN culture. The shit pissing me off is how people instantly forget their culture just caused they moved somewhere else.

8.) African countries do HATE us, they insult us.  But when they are in trouble, instantly they remember that Nigeria is part of Africa, is part of them.  That's why I'm surprised that sierra Leone's said that about us, when it's our own military that stop their civil war.

9.) They say Britain are ugly: I know that shit ain't true but a stereotype. They said Americans are stupid: I know that shit isn't true. They said all Mexicans are illegal immigrants: I know that ain't true. They said all South Africans are criminals, i know that ain't true. They said all Ghanaians are dark, ugly and dumb: I know that ain't true.
Ppl who falls for those stereotypes are the stupid ones and alot of you people in these forums did fall on the stereotypes. Some of ya'll that didn't grow up in naija or never actually been to naija, how can you know what's going on in that country except what you see in T.V. I grew up in that country before coming to America and i know damn well we do NOT glorify criminals. That's why i can't believe half of the shit written in this forums.

Instead of complaining about it, why don't you go back and do something about it.

You act like Nigeria are the only scammers in the world. Half of this scam doesn't even come from Nigeria. I barely get that much of a scam. I actually got a scam from some guy that called himself Mr.Brown, said he was a Nigerian. Everything that man sent me actually pointed to Nigeria(he did his research). But the guy was stupid enough to have his profile in yahoo profile(I forgot the name). N-way he was a white dude(At first i taught it was a fake pic) until i kept clicking and saw different pic of him, some of the position he was in was not something you can find in the internet. N-way, later found out the man was from Russia(He told me to send the money to some address in Russia and then he'll ship it off to Nigeria for me, that's it's a lot cheaper if he shipped the money(that was one of the stupidest stuff i heard but that's how scammers are coning and stupid). Another example: A vid i watch about catching a scammer in America, they kept calling it Nigerian scam when in reality the boy wasn't even Nigerian but African-American. He said himself. So we get blamed for things we didn't do sometimes and sometimes the blame really does belong to us(Cause really 419 people are really pissing me off, i hate those guys, i hope the EFCC catches all of them including the drug peddles).

All I know is I'm tired of defending Nigeria's image but if i have to defend that countries image to Nigerians also then I'm done. Really what point is it to defend a country which it's own people insults.
