Bros relax I like people having fact before making any assertion like i said in my earlier post most persons come hear to post trash just to make fun of a particular tribe or tradition try to be a witness to these things and see how it been done before saying anything and believing everything you read on naira land see my dads younger sister got married last year when it was time to pay the bride price my dad told his potential in laws to bring anything they brought a 1000# my dad took 50# and returned 950# to them am talking about Ohafia in Abia state but when people came here to generalize it igbo this or that is what I find annoying so brother stop the abusive words you can make ur point without using abusive words.

Igbos don't sell their daughters at least my dad did not sell his younger sister's daughters.

If there is any tribe that takes pride in female kids in Nigeria and even Africa, it's the Igbos. The most educated women are Igbo. The Igbo man trains his daughter to be an asset and not a liability to her husband, he will send his daughter to school till PHD sef and send his son to learn trade after his Secondary school.

To accuse them of selling these same daughters that they cherish is an insult. If you don't have 500k to pay for a well trained girl, then another man who knows her value will have it and pay without announcing to the world how much he paid like all these kids on NL.


The OP is very immature, is he the one getting married or did his friend ask for his help? Thousands of Igbo girls marry every year and their husbands don't go announcing how much he paid, many men have paid 2 million sef and this guy is coming here to announce 500k as if the girl's family won't be the one to organize the traditional marriage and foot all bills.

Op am sorry to say this part of the problem we have in family setting is extended family ur aunts started by saying she used juju on u which has made her to resent dem so much so what you need do is talk to your wife to forgive and forget they are still family let her let go of the anger she has been harboring for long and Embrace them for peace to regin. Op u also need to talk to your aunts if possible bring everyone to a round table so that everyone can state his or her grievances so that there will be a lasting peace. Gud thing she is at peace with their children which goes to show she is a nice lady. But Op u must understand ur wife and y she the way she is now

I believe God has given both men and women the power to make wealth so real men shouldn't be intimated over a woman's wealth on the other hand respect is earned yes a woman should be submissive to her man doesn't mean the man have to dominate her. Marriage is two mature pple coming together to leave together n these can only be possible when there is mutual respect, love and understanding and of course support. So Op the issue of dominance is on called for nobody is a slave but then again like I said before a woman should be submissive to her man. And you will agree with me submission happens when the man loves his wife dearly as commanded by the Bible so it's a two way thing
