This is part of what I was trying to say in my posts - despite the prevalence of poverty in China and India they wield more Economic power than Chad or Nigeria (in addition to other things).
If all of Africa united we would be more powerful but India and Nigeria have a similar GDP per capita. It is also military power that counts. India and China both have nukes not Nigeria or Chad.
I notice that many Africans are big into Christianity and Islam but have our prayers worked. I always here people say "Jesus will take the wheel" or "God will save us". But how long have we been praying? Has it been working? We have all these churches and mosques and we have the most problems, poverty, bad education, healthcare, infrastructure, etc. Instead of praying to god why don't we use ACTIONS because they speak louder than prayer.
Question EVERYTHING, what were the political implications of African receiving religion? Is it good for us? If we die and nothing happens to us then would we have wasted our lives praying for nothing? Do you want to live for this life or the afterlife?
Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.-Lucius Annaeus Seneca
European ideology is very anti-African in philosophy so it only shows the bad in the media. Also inn school it teaches you that Africa has no history and culture. Africa is just wars, famine, starving children, etc. That is the way the white supremacists made it.
This is why black people are treated badly in the west due to this ideology. They don't want Africa to rise because if Africa rises then the west will fall. That is how slavery in America started with Africans being at the bottom
Rossikk: Go to Montego Bay. It's a tourist friendly city with many clubs, bars, hangouts, hotels and resorts. If possible, stay at one of the all-inclusive resorts like Secrets Wild Orchid or the Rose Hall Hilton.
How much of Jamaican tourism is controlled by Jamaicans?
bsjay: I am a Nigerian and I quite agree with you guys. Religion has made Africans especially Nigerians to be so mentally lazy, empty minded and blocked headed. They can quote all the portions of the bible in order to support their indolence but have no faint knowledge of those words they quote. No wonder Jesus said: My people perish for lack of knowledge! Religions are the sharpest tool Lucifer has used to cause commotions on earth. Churches are built here and there not because they are leading people to God but as business empires where the pastors and priests rob them by means of tithes and offering tricks to enrich themselves and also gain public influence and authority over those members who blindly and wantonly surrendered themselves to their power. They easily pick up stones to do away with what is beyond their comprehension, they pass judgement and call it names immediately. Out of shear indolence of their spirits, they are expecting the second coming of Jesus, poor wretched human beings! Please when you guys are talking about Africa don't generalise the flaws to all Africans because they are so many enlightened ones here. But soon sheeps will be separated from goats in no distance time, when all religions and churches must be scrapped away from earth surface.
Please show me these enlightened Nigerians. I have talked to Africans on the continent and the diaspora and 95 percent of them are religious either Christian or Muslim. Majority of us are mentally slaves and don't know it. People need to read Dr. Chinweizu Ibekwe.
Weah96: You're talking about African contribution to civilization and I'm talking about IQ tests.
The overwhelming majority of black people perform horribly on IQ tests. That's not to say that whites are smarter, I KNOW they're not, but you can't deny the results.
Jesus and Mohammed play a huge role in dumbing down black people. We've embraced a white deity for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
I think that's why the majority of black people average 80 or so. It's impossible to polish a turd and try to pass it off as a bar of chocolate.
If we could only get these white people out of our collective heads...
On American forums do you see Americans talking about "remember the Biafran war"? Worse things are going on in Africa in the past 20 years why are not worried about our fellow brothers and sisters on the continent.
It is important to know world history but you should care for your own people first.
thoth: Yeah like it used to be before colonialism before they subdued us and brought the useless religion they so much tout about ,that we took the Bible and swear then turn around and lie till devil squirms. Before they started teaching us that our fathers were savages that can't pack their own shit and that all those truths formed from generations of living together ,guidelines which guarded there community and ensured that a neighbor has a certain level of trust and love for his neighborh, that ensured that people don't outrightly swindle others in business as they do these days, that ensured that disputes were settled with common sense and reason rather than the injustice that the current European system imposes on the communities, causing long lasting hatreds and open ended unjust settlements, they taught us all those ancient principles were wrong. Before colonialism , that was before they went full scale with their concept of individualism and even made it fashionable to "not give a damn". Before the concept of "Ezi aha ka ego" became a laughing stock and "Onye ego bụ Eze " became the mainstay.
“Does the white man understand our custom about land?” “How can he when he does not even speak our tongue? But he says that our customs are bad; and our own brothers who have taken up his religion also say that our customs are bad. How do you think we can fight when our own brothers have turned against us? The white man is very clever. He came quietly and peaceably with his religion. We were amused at his foolishness and allowed him to stay. Now he has won our brothers, and our clan can no longer act like one. He has put a knife on the things that held us together and we have fallen apart.” — Chinua Achebe, Things Fall Apart
Thus us good but Nigeria needs to build its own apps 100 percent by itself. Aldi let's submarines weapons, cars, tracks and everything we need for the military!
Also why do Nigerians get money and give us right back to white people. Consuming not producing. I bet he bought western designers. Ipads made by America and tv made by Korea Japan our America. This us why we have no power. We consume and don't produce.
It's stuffs like this that encourages the western world to harass and ill treat us, when we show up with our passport at their airports & soil. [/color]
Genbuhari is right the west enslaved us colonized us Neocolonialism right now then get mad when we're hey sine if the money back? They never gave releases and never said sorry to us. Look how we are killed in America for nothing by the police.
thoth: The answer to these questions takes you right back to Colonialism(for how we came to accept it) and to neocolonialism (for why we still Practice it) . People always think of Money and raw materials whenever neocolonialism is mentioned but the truth is that such exploitation cannot be sustained if only our economy is on stranglehold, the people will wake up and overhaul the system, or they could perpetually fight till the Colonists gets worn out (Afghanistan etc) . There must be "support systems" or auxiliaries which creates the condition for sustaining such atrocities, auxiliaries in the form of Religious Colonialism, Academic Colonialism, Cultural Colonialism, these three factors is what shapes the society and once you have a hold on it you will have a hold on that society, some people summarily term a situation whereby the colonists are in control of all three as "Mental Enslavement" , "Psychological Domination" etc but i strongly believe it serves more positive purpose to isolate it into three , it helps in defining the problems which are to be solved. The Pan Africanist that does not understand this order of things will always get stuck while trying to find a solution since what he sees around him will not make sense, he would ask himself why are African leaders so scared of them since you don't see any European standing army in those countries and any military strategist will tell you that attacking a populous nation like Nigeria (above 150 million) does not make military sense, why then ?? He would wonder how less than 2000 French soldiers in Ivory Coast will overpower a whole nation and install a puppet president for them , he would wonder why Africans will still seek advices from Europeans after it became evident time after time that they don't have our best interest at heart . There are many examples like the one above and none of them will make sense if you just look at imperialism from an economic angle hence the Panafrican make same mistakes over and over and his enemies just knew which trap he is going to fall at every corner. There is certain form of Colonialism that deserves a class of its own, Information Colonialism.
