Politics / Why Don't Africans On The Continent Celebrate Kwanzaa? by igbo2011(m): 6:31pm On Dec 28, 2014
I noticed that Africans celebrate Christian, Islamic, and European holidays but we don't celebrate Pan-African holidays. Do Jewish people celebrate German holidays? Do Armenians celebrate Turkish (Ottoman Empire) holidays? Do Arabs celebrate Israel holidays? Why do we celebrate holidays of people who enslaved, colonized and continue to neocolonize us? When people try to push them then people call you "Afrocentric" why is this?

Here is information and a website on Kwanzaa.

As an African American and Pan-African holiday celebrated by millions throughout the world African community, Kwanzaa brings a cultural message which speaks to the best of what it means to be African and human in the fullest sense. Given the profound significance Kwanzaa has for African Americans and indeed, the world African community, it is imperative that an authoritative source and site be made available to give an accurate and expansive account of its origins, concepts, values, symbols and practice.

Moreover, given the continued rapid growth of Kwanzaa and the parallel expanded discussion of it and related issues, an authoritative source which aids in both framing and informing the discussion is likewise of the greatest importance. Therefore, the central interest of this website is to provide information which reveals and reaffirms the integrity, beauty and expansive meaning of the holiday and thus aids in our approaching it with the depth of thought, dignity, and sense of specialness it deserves.

The holiday, then will of necessity, be engaged as an ancient and living cultural tradition which reflects the best of African thought and practice in its reaffirmation of the dignity of the human person in community and culture, the well-being of family and community, the integrity of the environment and our kinship with it, and the rich resource and meaning of a people's culture. It is within this understanding, then, that the Organization Us, the founding organization of Kwanzaa and the authoritative keeper of the tradition, has established and maintains this website.

Are you Nigerian living in Namibia or are you Namibian ? i will be in Namibian after the Chinese Spring Festival ,maybe early March, depending on your Nationality i will be more than glad to show you a lot of things you don't know about that country.

Maybe you have a singular notion of racsicm where ends with lynchings and segregation and the sort you see in Movies, but that is just a definition that was born out of the submissiveness, ignorance and colonial brainwashing of Africans, Rascism does not just end there. There is more to it than that especially where you become the VICTIM IN YOUR OWN FATHERLAND !! where you have less rights than foreigners, where you are not allowed to do certain things or invest in certain areas, or even enter certain Bars or Resturant because of your skin color, infact Namibia is the evidence of the weakness of the African continent, the result of our disunity. A clear example of where the Black Race can not defend it's own kind. Any educated Blackman living in Namibia can't just make this sort of statement as yours unless you are white.

Remember i said "All you can say is that since the Namibians are not revolting and trying to take back their lands and mines from the Germans , since they are content at the moment to live in shanty ghettos amidst abundance of resources, they are tolerated"

Now prove that wrong if you know about Namibia.

Africans are weak and docile that's why the works tats it's bad every where. We have no pet even on our own country. We won't do anything g oo just pay to sky daddy to solve our problems...smh

Who did you warn Abeg?

I am an PanAfriconomist (An economist with a Pan African perspective). I warned friends and people on social media and forums but people called me crazy. I promote self reliance on my website but nobody wants to listen. www.africanedp.com

If Africans didn't love everything foreign then we would have more foreign reserves to strengthen the naira but we love foreign clothes, cars, products, hair, make up, etc. We are still colonized and don't even know it.

Africans love celebrating their oppressors holidays. Do Jewish people celebrate German holidays and customs? Do Armenians celebrate Turkish (Ottoman) holidays? Do Arabs celebrate Israeli holidays? What is wrong with us? We are still slaves and we don't even know it. Then we call our own holidays and festivals evil and backwards. Africans are slaves and don't even know it.

It is evident from your post that you are indeed weak. You name countries in Europe but you lump yourself up with others into the word 'Africa'. There is no such thing as black versus white. There is only knowledgeable versus ignorant and poor versus rich.
I will have you know that Italian leather is gotten from Kano but refined in Italy. Kano was known for hundreds of years for its quality leather but refused to move from supliers of raw materials to manufacturing.
It is business men that decide policies even more than the policy makers. It is from the activities of capitalists and other stakeholders that growth comes about in a country.
Let go of the whining about the fate of the Blackman and get knowledge and make money, then lobby in the government to protect your business empire and see if Europeans won't come and kiss your black a.s.:s. That is how brands are built and their countries of origin become associated with them. It is the selfish action of a capitalist that gives his people dignity.

The reason I say African is because the majority of sub Saharan Africans have SLAVE MENTALITY!! Watch this video:

We are mental slaves we should add value to our own resources and manufacture instead of importing everything. Check out www.africanedp.com

Politics / Re: Nigeria's Most Beautiful Buildings (pics) by igbo2011(m): 12:51am On Dec 23, 2014
The problem is the construction materials are not made in Nigeria which makes money and jobs leave the country. We need to build these factories in Nigeria or Africa.

Why hate on something everyone loves? The whole of Mankind loves America.

First, the Asians travelled from their continent and settled there to become the natives. Then Christopher Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci led Europeans there who all became obsessed with the place and millions of them started to migrate through the centuries.
The English, the Irish, Jews and the Chinese.

Apart from our brothers who were taken there by force, I would say we Africans are even behind schedule with our love for America. Why hate on them? Didn't they tell you that's where God resides? You should be happy your black soul is allowed to associate with God.
God bless America!

This us how many Africans think, just like SLAVES!!! Look at this video, this cop killed her 7 year old grand child and he didn't even say sorry. He had no remorse. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1536505043263935&pnref=story

I have come to the conclusion that Africans are the weakest people in the world. You let anyone do whatever they want to you and you smile and love it. We celebrate our oppressors holidays, root for them to win in the World Cup, In Italy they throw banannas at black players and we repay them buy buying Italian clothes and making them more rich. We are a bunch of slaves in our own lands. France is colonizing West Africa and we repay them buy buying French champagne. Germany killed 80,000 Namibian people and we buy German cars. This is why everywhere in the world we are we are not respected.

there is an event for every single day of the year.

however, people should stop trying to be killjoys on other people's celebratory days like birthdays, etc.

for goodness sake, learn to get a life and stop all this backward thinking, retrogressive mentality.

Let Christ transform your mind.

Why are we always talking about god when this has nothing to do with god? We are too religious and it makes us docile and lazy minded with an absence of thinking critically.

Why are Nigerians celebrating these western businesses controlling more of the economy in Africa, how is this good? Those profits will leave Nigeria and go to the west and make them rich. We need to make our own brands so the money stays in the country.

Yes. But if look at it objectively, India has more population than the whole of Africa, bigger middle class than all of Africans middle class combined and have a bigger GDP than the whole of Africa combined. Africa will still be portrayed as poor until Africans start to take themselves serious.

Africa is still colonized. India and China are not as colonized as Africa. The sad part is that most Africans don't even know. We think since we celebrate independence that we are free. There is a big difference between political and economic independence.
