THE BELOW FROM THE ANIOMA NATIONS SUPPORT THE FACT THAT NDI ANIOMA ARE PROUD IGBOS WHO WOULD GO FOR BIAFRA INSTEAD OF NIGER DELTA REPUBLIC

In the memoirs of Chief Dennis Osadebay, he was full of praises for Chief Michael Okpara for all the support rendered to the Midwest regional movement which led to the creation of the new region in 1963 and enthronement of the NCNC in 1964. It is also well-known that many Aniomas were members of the defunct Igbo State Union which cemented the ethnic bounds of all Igbos, west and east of the Niger. There were even agitations to carve out the old Asaba and Aboh divisions and have them merged with the East with the likes of Rev SW Martin of Issele Uku as the main driver of the proposal. To further expose their lies, we have attached a letter written by community leaders of the Ika East area comprising of Umunede, Igbodo, Otolokpo, Mbiri, Ute-Ogbeje and Akumazi and goes as thus:

“We the undersigned, on behalf of the people of Umunede clan,Igbodo clan,Akwumazi clan,Mbiri clan and Ute-Ugbeje clan in Ika Division,Midwest take this opportunity to express our deep gratitude on the historic liberation of the Midwest and wish you God’s guidance. We equally take this opportunity to congratulate His Excellency Major A.O Okonkwo on his appointment as the Military Administrator of the Midwest and pledge our unalloyed support and loyalty to his government. Although we the above 6 clans in Umunede zone have already donated sums of money and foodstuff towards win the war funds on individual clans,we jointly donate herewith the sum of 105 pounds to win the war. WE FERVENTLY PRAY FOR GOD’S HELP THAT WE CRUSH THE ENEMY.While thanking you for what you have already achieved-liberation of Midwest-we wish to place here on record that it will be your guide while deliberating on any future association, our feelings should be put into utmost consideration” Signatories to this September 1967 letter to Ojukwu include: HRH Obi N Gbenoba; Obi of Umunede. Biafra: Nigerian Army warns against act of felony

Jos – The Nigerian Army has warned groups agitating for the dismemberment of the country and committing felony to desist from such acts as once deployed, it shall not hesitate to apply the rule of engagement to the letter.
Speaking with journalists Monday at the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Rukuba near Jos, the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 3 Armoured Division, Major-General Hassan Umaru also warned officers and soldiers not to take sides in any conflict in the country.
Giving a reminder on the rule of engagement for internal security operations, the GOC stated that the constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria empowers the Armed Forces to suppress insurrection and act in aid of civil authority to restore order when called upon.
He explained that the rule of engagement of internal security operations include principle of minimum force and proportionality must be applied at all times.
His words, “The Nigerian Army would like to send an unequivocal warning to all and sundry, more specifically to all those threatening and agitating for the dismemberment of the country, committing treasonable felony and arson as well as wanton destruction of lives and property.
“Once deployed, we shall apply the ROE to the letter. It is however hoped that such circumstances would not arise that we should be deployed on such operations because, within the ambit of the law, we shall apply the ROE to the fullest.”
Major-General Umaru added, “It is the duty of an officer or soldier to ensure the enforcement of law and order in conjunction with other security agencies, troops are duty bound to intervene in any situation to avoid a breakdown in peace and stability of an area where they are deployed.
“It is inexcusable for troops to stand aside and watch security situation deteriorate and for avoidance of doubt, the rule of engagement for internal security operations include principle of minimum force and proportionality must be applied at all times.”
He highlighted others to include the application of minimum force limited in its intensity and duration and commensurate with the level of threat posed as well as the application of force necessary to achieve an immediate aim among others.
He informed the public that “officers and soldiers have been warned not to take sides in any conflict as anyone found aiding and abetting any act of arson, vandalism or unprofessional conduct would be severely dealt with according to extant laws.”

GOVERNOR IFEANYI OKOWA OF DELTA STATE IS AN IGBO MAN FROM DELTA STATE WHO IS PROUD OF HIS IGBO HERITAGE

explorer250:
In the events of recent happenings and in the continued quest of the FGN deploying propaganda with the help of our neighbours and "selfish" leaders to balkanise, brain wash and exploit igbo land especially we in the south south region of the country as a result of the ongoing agitation for "biafra"(though i am not a strong supporter)

I want to categorically say that we igbos in ss and niger delta at large are not aware of any ss or niger delta republic. We constitute the majority of south south and niger delta and therefore we will decide what happens to the region. We currently have two governors in the ss.

WE ARE NOT AWARE OF, AND ARE NOT INTO ALLIANCE WITH ANY SS OR ND REPUBLIC. ANYBODY OR GROUP OF PERSONS THAT ARE INTERESTED IN SUCH SHOULD NEGOTIATE WITH OUR UNBRELLA AND PAN IGBO BODY "OHANEZE NDI IGBO" Anything contrary to this amounts to hostility, hidden and ulterior agenda and most epecially an insult to sensibility.
We might be in the south south but wr know our identity and ethnicity.
Pls only south south igbos and u(p)land igbos are required to comment on this thread.

BELOW ARE FROM THE THREAD I CREATED.

I have been following with disgust the numerous fallacious threads created by Yorubas and Hausa senseless bigots trying to cause division between we the Igbos on the western part of river Niger and our brothers in the eastern part of the river Niger. It is obvious you people are completely ignorant of our history and relationships with the eastern Igbos. LET IT BE KNOWN THAT MANY OF OUR ANCESTORS MIGRATED FROM THE EAST AND HAVE STRONG RELATIONSHIP THE EASTERN IGBOS.

Below are some Anioma towns and their place of origin:

Asaba migrated from Awka and Nteje Anambra State

Igbuzo migrated from Isu Imo State and Nri Anambra State

Ute Okpu migrated from Nri Anambra State

Owa founded by Odogwu and his brother Ozomo who migrated from Nri

Akwukwu migrated from Nri Anambra State.

Akwukwu Igbo migrated from Nri Anambra State

etc

The above are just few examples of Anioma towns that migrated from the East of the Niger.

Many Anioma sons played prominent roles in the biafra war, some of them are Major General Onwuatuegwu from Ogwashi Ukwu who was the head of Biafran Defence Headquarters, Major General Madiebo who commanded the Biafran Owerri division, Col Joe Achusia from Asaba who headed the western Biafran brigade, Brigedier General Okonjo from Ogwashi Ukwu, Col Nwadei, Capt Anuku from Owa, Ika who was Head of Biafran Navy, Major Kaduna Nzeogwu from Okpanam who led the battalion in Nsukka etc. Western Igbo will always be part of Biafra.

The babaric federal troops committed war crimes in different towns of Anioma killing innocent men and women as well as raping some ladies. The Anioma nations will not forget the atrocities committed by the weak and shameless Northern and yoruba soldiers in Agbor, Ogwashi Ukwu, Asaba, Okpanam, Issele Ukwu, Onicha Ugbo, Igbuzo, Ndokwa, Ukwuani and many Anioma towns although many of them met their shameful death in the hands of gallant and brillant biafran soidiers.

LET ME MAKE IT CLEAR TO ALL YORUBA AND NORTHERN SHAMELESS M0RONS THAT SHOULD BIAFRA BECOME A REALITY, THE ANIOMAS WOULD BE PART OF IT BECAUSE WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PART OF IT. WE CANNOT BE DECEIVED BY YOUR BIGOTRY PROPELLED PROPAGANDA.

That is why i told the yorigboa and the ewusa people on this forum that should Biafra come into existence, The whole of Anioma should be part of Biafra.

onenaira3:

Once again exactly. In Asaba, it was actually a yoloba that threatened the people when they gathered to greet the soldiers. It was him that accused them of blowing the bridges and the fact they are Igbo, they have to die. It was him that order the foot soldiers to start shooting the civilians. Many people accuse the Hausa guy for the massacre but anyone that know people that survived the attack, if you ask them, you'll instantly know it was a Yoruba guy that actually initiated it. The Hausa guy just went alongside with it and didn't end it.

That's why it irritates the living sh1t out of me whenever they try to distort that history and most definitely try to act like they are asaba protectors from SE and our "btothers'. Like when did the f2kers become our friends?

Imo State to Partner FMBN in 2,000-unit Workers Estate

IN renewed effort to improve the living standards of its citizens, Imo State Government has concluded arrangements with the apex mortgage institution to build over 2,000 housing units for workers.

The project, which will be executed with Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) will under the Imo Model Scheme and expected to provide different categories of houses for its workers in the three senatorial zones (Imo East, Imo West and Imo North), ranging from semi- detached duplexes and blocks of flats.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, who disclosed this to journalists recently, after a meeting with the officials of the bank, led by Executive Director, Mr. Charles Ajifa, said the state government would provide about N10 billion, about 60 per cent of the cost, while FMBN would commit 40 per cent.

He also disclosed that the authorities of the FMBN would pay the developers and recover the money on behalf of the state government and itself. The first phase of the scheme will commence 1,000 housing units.

The governor regretted that workers in the state have not benefitted from National Housing Fund (NHF) scheme such despite huge contributions made to the fund. Okorocha disclosed that the state government would provide land, good road network and other infrastructure in the areas.

The Executive Director of the FMBN, Charles Ajifa, said some housing units constructed already by the bank, would be handed over to state government soon, adding that state’s contributeion to the NHF has hit N1 billion. A committee was set up to carry the project.

Also, the Imo State Government has signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU), with a foreign firm to build a 500 annual tonne capacity of Fertilizer in the Industrial Park in Ohaji/ Egbema Local Council of the state, to serve the needs of farmers in the state and beyond.

The Secretary to the State Government, Jude Ejuogu, witnessed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mrs. Lilian Asuzu, signed for the state government, while a representative of the firm, Mr. Nguyam Kim Tawo, signed for his company. The operations would commence in the next six months.

Two highly placed traditional Rulers in Delta State, the Asagba of Asaba, Professor J.C. Edozien CFR; JP., and the Obi of Owa in Ika North Local Government, Dr. E.O. Efeizomor II OON; JP., have stressed the need for Ndigbo, no matter the geopolitical location in which they are based, to be united in the quest for Ndi-Igbo to again become relevant in Nigeria in particular and the world in general.

Professor Edozien made the remarks when he granted audience to a delegation of IWA, ASA World, CISA and EIC.

The traditional Ruler, a former academician, who received the delegation with a retinue of his fully attired members of cabinet, said that although Asaba people were located in the south south geopolitical zone, “most of my subjects hail from Nteje in Oyi Local Government of Anambra State”.

Professor Edozien noted that "nothing could be achieved by Ndigbo unless unity prevailed among members of the ethnic group irrespective of the geopolitical zone in which they are based”.

He appealed to IWA to work assiduously to resolve the crisis in World Igbo Congress, WIC, and, thereafter "IWA, WIC, ASA World, CISA, EIC and other Ndi-Igbo associations in the diaspora should pool their resources together to uplift the welfare of Ndi-Igbo”.

The Asagba expressed delight over the efforts of IWA, ASA World, CISA and EIC to project, through the museum on Igbo Village to be opened on September 17, 2010 in Stanton , Virginia in the United States of America , the contributions of Ndi-Igbo to one of the major civilizations in modern history.

Friday March 19

On his own part, the Obi of Owa in Ika North Local Government of Delta State, Dr. E.O. Efeizomor II OON; J.P., said that research had traced the origin of Ika people to the Nris of Anambra State.

Dr. Efeizomor II who has been on the throne for fifty years, said that what was significant about the research was that it was conducted by Ika intellectuals.

The traditional Ruler said that although the “Ikas were making spirited efforts to identify and relate with Ndi-Igbos in the South East geopolitical zone, the efforts were not being reciprocated, hence a few Ikas have reservations over their affinity with Ndi-Igbo”.

The Obi of Owa presented to members of the IWA delegation a book to buttress his assertion that Ikas were, according to him, “proud Ndi-Igbo of Nri ancestry”.

Dr. Efeizomor II said that the entire Ika traditional institution was happy to participate in the Igbo Day that was held in Owerri on September 29, 2009 adding that “Ika people look forward to joining our brothers and sisters in taking part in more Ndi-Igbo activities in future”.
