Politics / Re: Why Is Tinubu So Powerful? by ihearYou(m): 1:22pm On Jul 16, 2016
Knowledge9000:
I don't think he is powerful is just that Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani tend to be very demure and respectful to someone in their societies who has risen above board notwithstanding if he or she is right or wrong...they will be loyal to that person. The cultural reverence that come with the throne of Obas, Onis and Emirs also makes it easier for them to control the people. With Igbos...it's impossible as they are not used to having powerful people! Igbo society is naturally and culturally an egalitarian society....everyone is equal! Have you heard of a powerful Igbo man before? Lol. The only way you will be powerful to Igbos is if you are fighting for their freedom...as in Ojukwu and Nnamdi Kanu, then you are talking otherwise you are just an ordinary person no matter your wealth and political clout.

That is why d igbos are politically backward and will remain so.brigands and warlords cannot advance u politically.

I can't believe some people are celebrating this nonsense. Who in his right sense will want to go to boko haram compound in the name of drilling oil. Is buhari that stupidd. Jihad war doesn't end. They will still strike again and again. If it's a drug cartel or oil militant they have human sympathy. But jihad militant? If they catch you in close range they will butcher you into minced meat. If they like let them find Saudi Arabia in lake Chad, na wash.

Ur ignorance is appalling. D Northern establishment has been secretly drilling oil from d Lake Chad basin for yrs,and Jonathan. was aware, but could do nothing about it. Politics / FG, Militants’ Ceasefire In N-delta Collapses by ihearYou(m): 2:58am On Jul 04, 2016
WARRI —THE temporary cessation of hostilities in the Niger
Delta region broke down, weekend, as Niger Delta Avengers,
NDA, blew up five oil and gas installations following its
displeasure with the manner the Federal Government was
managing and breaching the peace process.
A source disclosed that as far as Niger Delta Avengers was
concerned, the Federal Government was not serious about
peace in the region, as it had said nothing concrete about its
planned dialogue with stakeholders and was breaching the
warning by the militant group not to repair damaged pipelines
while the window for negotiations was open.
The militant group did not give any reason why it started fresh
attacks, but confirmed in several tweets on its twitter handle
that it blew up five different crude oil trunk lines and wells
belonging to Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC,
Chevron Nigeria Limited, and Nigeria Petroleum Development
Company, NPDC in Delta State.
Reacting to the resumption of hostilities, yesterday, the Ijaw
Youth Council, IYC, described same as regrettable, but
criticized President Muhammadu Buhari, who it said did not
take any practical step toward addressing the issues since he
returned from his medical trip abroad.
Meanwhile, a new group in the region, Niger Delta Movement
for Socio-Economy Inclusion, NDMSEI, yesterday, picked holes
in the recent stakeholders meeting organised by the Delta
State governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, saying that the meeting
failed to address key issues affecting the ethnic nationalities
in the region.
Avengers confirmed on it twitter handle that it bombed two
major NNPC crude oil trunk lines to Warri Refining and
Petrochemical Company, WRPC, Warri, on Friday at 9.15 p.m.,
adding: “At 11:26p.m., on Saturday @Niger Delta Avengers blew up
two NPDC major crude trunk lines close to Batan flow station
in Delta State.”
The group stated: “At 11:26p.m., on Saturday @Niger Delta Avengers
blew up two NPDC major crude trunk lines close to Batan flow
station in Delta State and at 1:15a.m., on Sunday @
Niger Delta Avengers blew up two major Chevron Oil Wells. Well 7 and
Well 8, close to Abiteye flow station in Delta State.”
Congratulating its fighters for a good job, it said in yet another
tweet: “All five operations were carried out by @Niger Delta Avengers
strike team.”
A security source, who corroborated attacks, told Vanguard
that Chevron officials were already aware and would visit the
attacked facilities in some hours to ascertain the extent of
damage done to them.
FG not ready— Source
On the renewed attacks, ex-militant leader told Vanguard :
“After reviewing the Federal Government’s position since the
expiration of its two-week ceasefire, it was obvious that
President Buhari on return from his short vacation in London
was not interested in meeting the demands of the Niger Delta
Avengers and other militants.
“He merely appealed to the militants in the name of God to
stop the bombings, which was suspended even before he left
for his vacation. He did not put anything on the table, said
nothing about the expired ceasefire or way forward on the
dialogue, which his Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr.
Emmanuel Kachikwu, had gone round talking to stakeholders
about.
“What is clear is that the Federal Government is only bidding
for time, while the Joint Task Force, JTF, in the Niger Delta,
“Operation Pulo Shield” was disbanded and replaced with
“Operation Delta Safe”, the Department of State Services, DSS,
on its part is framing up members of the Niger Delta
Avengers,” he said.

The question u failed to ask urself, and provide answers for is: what does d PDP actually want? A party that gets entrapped in its own devices blames others for its woes, instead of taking a critical look at itself. Was it d APC that asked PDP members to gleefully appoint Sheriff Musa,in d erroneous belief that he would give d APC a ride for its money, and lead d party to greater heights going forward? Was it also d APC that told d same PDP elements to confusedly try to remove him against their earlier resolve to stick with him, come what may? When all parties to their dispute took themselves to court, to procure injunctions and counter injunctions, was it d APC that prompted them to so do? So many questions arising from ur delusional write-up,that time will not permit me to ask. A lazy farmer always blames his tools, and that is why d PDP is taking d easiest way out of confronting their own internal problems that has all d trappings of d impunity PDP has been known for thru d years. Weaving a conspiracy theory about d involvement of d APC will not help d PDP in any way,it will only make a mockery of them among sensible folks. Rather, they should concentrate on selling their badly damaged product( fake pst.ize-iyamu to d electorate. D road PDP is threading in Edo shows that ize-iyamu is being set up for a big fall,d like of which will put paid to his political career, once and for all. APC!! CONTINUE!!

4. African Star Apple
Try searching for African star apple on Google and watch the search engine struggle to come up with results. But search for “Agbalumo” and watch Google turn to superstar with numerous results. This is because Nigerians only know this fruit as Agbalumo, not as the African Star Apple.

2. Tiger Nuts
The name “Tiger nut” is yet to stick to this sweet root from Northern Nigeria. Tiger nut is called its traditional name in various parts of the country; Ofio in the Southwest, Aki Hausa in the Southeast and Aya in the North.

In Warri,we call it "HAUSA GROUND NUT".

Nigerians are so creative that rather than find out the English names of certain fruits, they have either stuck with the traditional name or invented a new name for said fruit. Here are common
examples:

1. Tropical Almonds
The tropical almond can be found in many parts of Southern Nigeria. But Nigerians definitely don’t bother calling it tropical almond. This delicious fruit is referred to as “fruit”.

In Warri,we call it "ebelebo". Any waffi brought up will corroborate.
