Visa is based on certain criteria, yes. But then, i will agree with the review guy that the sponsorship part of the interview wasn’t solid but regardless he got it. Then again, that doesn’t mean that someone else will say the same thing and get the visa, so please let’s learn
Maybe the VO didn't even ask about his sponsor sef ,cos that was a proposed transcript .To be sincere, the sponsorship replies he gave was not it atall. How can a student in America be the one sponsoring you?.So na God's grace whether you like it or not.

When God came for Saul in the Bible ,did he believe there is God? The Bible says the Grace of God has appeared to all men, God is the creator of every mankind, irrespective of your religion,... but that doesn't rule out the fact that you still need to have a good ds-160 and other requirements,u have to play your part and God will play his part, thanks
Exactly, God's grace is for who it is for, whether you believe in him or not.Peace

In this case, it is better you go for the WES evaluation option especially if you have a good or average GPA. It takes a shorter period of time to achieve this compared to doing excellently well In the GRE.

*Proposed Transcript for my Next Interview (In a few days time)*
Abuja

*F2:* Good morning sir
*V.O:* Good morning. Pass your documents. (Done) Why are you going to the U.S?
*F2:* To join my husband Mr. Kehinde Dada who is currently a graduate student at the University of Georgia.
*V.O:* For how long have you been married?
*F2:* 10 months. Our church wedding was on 29th May, 2021, while the registry was on 2nd June, 2021
*V.O:* What has changed since your last interview?
*F2:* I have moved from volunteer role in my place of work to an Academic instructor role, doubling as an Admin staff in the same place of work.
*V.O:* I can see he is doing a Masters in that school, can’t you just wait 2 years?
*F2:* Actually, his major is Engineering Education, and the duration is 3 years that is going to be a long time physical and emotional separation as a young couple like us, this will negatively affect our marriage. I miss him so much already. We talk for hours and hours every day just to keep up with the emotional bond.
-Secondly, as a research assistant with lots of projects to work on, he is also expected to maintain a good CGPA in order to continue with his funding for the entire period of his study. I want to be with him to provide him with all the necessary physical, emotional and moral support he needs to be able to achieve this. I don’t want his mind to be divided between his studies, house chores and wife who is back at home.
*V.O:* What is his stipend like?
*F2:* 24k in a year
*V.O:* Where does he live?
*F2:* 312, Walters Hall Drive, Athens.
*V.O:* What do you at work?
*F2:* -As a Science Instructor, I teach Mathematics and Basic Science to students, preparing them for competitions and external examinations. I also assist in training Science teachers on the use of Technology in teaching Science Subjects
-As an Admin Staff, I assist in scheduling Science trainings for both students and teachers. I do mail correspondence and other secretariat duties in the Science department.
*V.O:*How much are you being paid monthly?
*F2:* 90k
*V.O* How long have you been working there?
*F2:* It will be 2 years by June.
*V.O:* What is the staff strength?
*F2:* 32 staff members (both academic and non-academic)
*V.O:* For how long do you intend to stay with your husband?
*F2:* I want to stay with him for the whole duration of his studies. I have an understanding with my employer concerning this.
*V.O:* So, what things will you be doing for that whole period?
*F2:* -Helping him follow through with his study plan; reminders.
-Keeping him mentally healthy ; excercising together, good dieting
-Keeping him psychologically fit and healthy.
-Emotional satisfaction and regular communication.

*V.O:* Okay, I will be approving your VISA….
*F2:* Thank you sir!

*N.B* I will be going with the only 2 pictures we had during our short courtship. He was in Lagos, I in Abuja.
Is it not better you go with your wedding pictures also?.

Again, saying that you will stay with your husband all through his study years just to support him,,,hmmm.Check well o if it's advisable to say so,meanwhile I hope you hear from the gurus here cos I maybe wrong though.

I wish you luck Debbiey

*Good morning dear all, please kindly spare some time to help review this, my interview is next week.*

First Interview (December 1, 2021 – surge date)
Lagos
Both F1 & F2
Full funding (61k plus) covers for both of us (58k plus) with excess (3k plus)
N.B: There was massive denial. More than 12 people before us were denied

*F1 & F2:* Good morning ma. Happy New Month (She probably didn’t hear this).
*V.O:* Good morning. Pass your documents (we did). Which of you is the student? I pointed to my husband. V.O turns to him. Why are you going to the U.S.
*F1:* To have my M.Sc in Engineering Education at University of Georgia.
*V.O:* How did you get this funding?
*F1:* I got it through my excellent performance in the series of rigorous selection process that included evaluation of my SOP, CV, my academic profile as well as series of interviews with the school’s faculty members.
*V.O:* What’s your plan after studies?
*F1:* I will be coming back to Nigeria to take up the role of the Regional Head of Dept. in my place of work. I also have a pending project with GLOBACOM which I will be back to implement and complete. On the long term I intend to set up my own Engineering Educational Institute in my locality here in Nigeria.
*V.O:* Where do you work?
*F1:* Nigerian Tulip Int’l College where I teach Science subjects to senior secondary students.
[V.O keeps typing but not concentrating on what she was typing, she kept looking at me with some kind of surprise in her face- maybe due to my small stature and baby face, she wasn’t just seeing a married woman]
She turns to me (F2)
*V.O:* Are you his wife?
*F2:* Yes
*V.O:* For how long have you been married?
*F2:* 6 months. We got married this year on the 2nd of June.
*V.O:* How long have you been in a relationship
*F2:* [Didn’t know what to answer. Should I say 2012, because we’ve been friends since then, but we just got engaged that same year, January. We do short courtship in our church….]
*F1 comes to the rescue:* 2012
*V.O:* So, why are you just getting married this year?
*F1:* I just got a good job last year and started plans on my marriage.
*V.O:* How much is your monthly pay? [F1 says the pay] Do you have any evidence of your relationship before marriage?
*F1 & F2:* Not here. We only brought our wedding pictures.
*V.O:* I don’t need that (she said it twice). Do you have any proof of your marriage apart from the pictures?
*F2:* Yes. Brings out marriage Certificate and gives to her.
*V.O:* Do you understand that if this document is found false, you will be prosecuted, do you want to take that risk? Do you really?
*F2:* [In my mind, I’m like, e gba mi ke? I was a bit turned off] It’s not false we’re truly married
*V.O:* Where do you work?
*F2:* I volunteer at spot-on…. (V.O cuts in)
*V.O:* Why is that? Why is that? [I guess because she saw Masters in Public Health as my Highest Degree]
[So, I just didn’t know what to say again, I was fed up]
Then, she gave my husband the white paper. As she picked the blue paper, the tongues I was jejely speaking inside me just leaked out through my lips.
She looked at me and said, do you know I’m hearing you? (I said, Oh, I’m sorry about that)
She gave me the blue paper and told me to re-apply.

[N.B: We filled our DS-160 by ourselves and all info I gave about my marriage, relationship, work, everything is 100% true and corresponds with DS-160]

Another thing worthy of note is that I was busy preparing for my husband’s interview all along (his busy schedule didn’t allow him time to prepare. So, I did all the preparation for him and tutored him on strategies to answer all the questions).
I also did a little preparation for myself, but I never expected that kind of rigorous drilling for an F2.

But I hope to do better in my next interview (next week)

Like I said, if they want to use the GRE to consider you for funding then you have to write if you want funding. If you don't, you can tell them it was waived during application and you don't have time to write it now.
Alright thank you plenty
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Ijchichi5190: 1:47pm On Mar 15, 2022
UmmZayd:
Okay. You have already stated the reason why you didn't write it in your note. "It wasn't compulsory"
Now, if you are requesting for funding and probably the reason why they are also asking then you need to create time to write it. You can request for waiver if you don't want to be considered for funding.

Best of luck
I wanted funding o but again I'm asking to know the reason to give them while requesting for waiver naw.

Abi I should just write to them to waive it without giving them any reason?

Thank you

Hello, please can someone help me with possible reason I can give a school 'SUDDENLY' requesting for GRE from me which I do not have for now and can't get it soon because of my tight schedule please.

Reason for not been able to provide the gre now and if they can please waive it for me?

*Note* that it wasn't compulsory before o ,but they suddenly made it compulsory when I have already paid and submitted my application.

Thanks please.

Sorry for the denial; we go again.

Below is my 2cent:

- The VO made the decision on actual home ties.
Like, you’re still currently ‘doing’ your NYSC.

To her/him: why not end it before applying for master.

To her/him: you mean you wan leave compulsory rite and Japa.

That’s what prompt the following question of “WHY ARE YOU GOING FOR YOUR MASTERS NOW?” Key word: NOW.

Meaning, why not wait till after you’re done with your official assignment.

If you had package yourself well before the interview; you would have known that it’s better to use WORK instead of NYSC.
Like, put the ‘work’ in place of NYSC. Then follow it with the reason why you’re going for Msc now.

I mean, you’re currently working and you would need this Msc to have an edge in your work’s place next promotion scheme or you need this degree to be able to apply for a better work etc.

If you notice he/she was even asking to even know maybe you’ve other home-tie(s): MARRIED? TRAVELED before (Yeah, maybe your eye don see better country before and you’d not stayed back), but unfortunately NO at this moment for you.

I hope you understand the above, they’re just my humble Opinions.

In your next attempt, PACKAGE WELL and SOUND CONVINCING.

Goodluck Champ!
Exactly,,,the VO needed more home ties and probably some work experience from you .Find a work and reapply after some months.

slimmy2005:
You don’t need to pay SEVIS fee to book appointment. You need to pay the Sevis fee before the appointment interview date.

You should pay the SEVIS fee immediately you get the I-20 if possible.

Book any date you see on the appointment portal and request for emergency appointment/ Expedited appointment. It would be granted and dates would be sent for him to pick.
It depends on the visa fee you paid for. It’s for visitors visa you would have to pay another visa fee for student visa.
But they need his i-20 form to be able to book for EA naw.

It's better you wait for his i-20 form ma before proceeding because its very likely you will get a far date and need to apply for Emergency.

So do all in order. My opinion sha
