I am a big critic of the Catholic Church it's history is ugly. I was once a Catholic. It's such a patriarchal and sexist institution.
Anyway, I would write about my criticisms later.
You're not wrong.
But I think it is Church/Christianity in general.
But, I have been to some Catholic Churches that do a good job of not shying away from some of the inherent contradictions. And the ones that I have been to also do a very good job of outreach surrounding volunteering (serving the community) and social justice.

You're right, they didn't.

*The Taliban only re-took Afghanistan.

*Russia invaded Ukraine.

*NKorea fired intercontinental missile accross the entire breadth of Japan.

*Hamas invaded Israel.

India and Pakistan started war after Trump returned and he has promptly shut the war down the way he shut down the ISIS Caliphate in his first coming.
I don't think President's are responsible for what other countries do. Their goal is to try to bring peace.
For those that for the last few years, said peace would reign when Trump was President and that he would end all wars day 1, should explain why all these wars are still raging.

And I don't like to spend a lot of time going back and forth on facts that can be easily google.
But it was Trump that gave Afghanistan back to the Taliban.
It was Trump that signed the agreement without the Afghanistan leadership and started pulling troops out of Afghanistan. In fact he wanted to have the Taliban at Camp David.
I know a lot of this stuff is hard for you, but if you are so mad at what happened in Afghanistan, you should be angry with Trump.

As you all know, I’m very critical of the church especially the Catholic Church. As a Catholic born and raised, I saw and experienced the harms of religious bigotry/hypocrisy first hand. This is a pope I can actually get behind. The maga tears about him help smoothen the process ngl.
They are calling the pope "Woke"?

You guys know that if he has his way with this, your citizenship or green card means nothing. I mean due process usually means you would be given a chance to prove that you’re a citizen. Guess what? No such chances are going to be given to you.

White supremacist is normalized yet she is comfortable living with a white guy, sleeping with a white guy every night

They must be feeling that white supremacy on their beds

Why is her own white guy not a danger to her?

Not everyone is born a victim who sees racism everywhere he goes, It actually takes a level of mental disorder to see racism everywhere she goes and to tag every white person as a danger

Radical in the streets, colonized in the sheets
The stuff you write is so childish.
It was Northern Whites who collaborated to free slaves from Southern Slave Owners.
Were there some White people who were evil? Yes.
Does that mean every White person is evil? No.

You know what I think is worse than a white racist? A black man who enables and rationalizes that racism.
Not sure what happened to you to make you think person but you're broken deep inside. And I pity you.

A Minnesota woman who was filmed calling a young Black child the n-word at a local park has raised over $700,000 through an online fundraiser after she said that she needs to relocate her family for their safety.
Why It Matters
The size and speed of donations to Shiloh Hendrix's fundraiser have reignited debates around online harassment, free speech, racism and how crowdfunding sites are used in the aftermath of controversial incidents.
What To Know
Hendrix was captured on video at Soldiers Field Memorial Park in Rochester, Minnesota, using the slur during a confrontation that she later claimed was prompted by the child allegedly taking something from her toddler's diaper bag.

Car Talk › Re: Should I Sell My 2012 Corolla For A 2008 Camry? "Details Inside" by IjeBos(m): 6:31pm On May 09, 2025
Felicity001:
Lol... and you now believe you've actually ought the original catalyst abi?

I'm sorry to burst your bubbles, that thing you bought is fake, not original catalyst. You can argue for all I care, yes, your panel beater will tell you, oga na original, oga leave matter. Na packaging. Go to ladipo you'll be amazed. Dont let us waste time on this subject.

Coming to your fuel consumption, the 2012 Toyota Corolla's fuel consumption varies depending on the driving conditions. In city driving, it typically consumes around 8.2 liters per 100 km, while on the highway, it averages 5.3 liters per 100 km. Some owners report getting between 8.0 and 8.5 KM/L. Mind you, this is the standard for the time the car was produce 13/14yrs ago.

Now, you're driving a car which is about 14yrs old,the mileage of the car and other factor will definitely affect your mileage. The lubicabts you use, catalytic converter thermostat among others affect your MPG, even, many of us don't know that the type of tyres we use affects mpg of a car, yes, it does. If you've winter tyres on your car (which is the most common) and i have all season tyres, my mpg will be better than yours in the Nigeria road.

Has your engine been worked on b4? Any Iver heating history b4? Has your thermostat been bypassed? What type of engine oil.do.ypu use? Synthetic, semi synthetic or 20w50. Is your in good condition, does your engine has clearance or dragging sound when accelerating? Is the engine check light on?

Your driving partner also affects your mpg, yes, some of you, drive aggressively, and step of the breaks suddenly and automatically, all.of these things affect your mpg.

Your newly bought camry is either 2.4L engine for i4 or 3.0L for v6. Also an old car, also, and old car, and I'll say it's from frying pan to fire.

If I where you, I would have gone for a more new model like the spider, 2014 camry.
Good post, a lot of people don't realize how one drives or even not filling their tires fully can change their fuel consumption.
My mom complained to me about the fuel consumption in her car. It was a 2 year old car. I watched her drive and wasn't surprised. She would speed up just to get to the red light. Told her to not accelerate and brake so much, keep a constant speed and coast into the light instead of speeding up to it then hitting the brakes. She did that and her gas lasted around 2x the time.

Do the simple things. Watch how you drive, don't accelerate just to brake, make sure your tires are filled, change your air filter and your mileage should improve.

So, I grew up the Catholic Church. It was a second home. I was the weekend receptionist in the rectory as a teenager. I started our Catholic Youth Organization, volunteered with the amazing Sister who did my catholicism. She taught me about social justice and the word of God. The Monsignor/Rector used to walk around the church at night picking up trash. And it was a big church. We would do food drives, meals on wheels, check in on the elderly and serve food at the Homeless shelter down the street. I've always associated social justice with Christianity. So, it is always so jaring hearing these Conservative Christian Republicans talk about their vision of Christianity.

Anyhow,I was thrilled at the direction of the Church under Francis and hope Pope Leo continues that direction and giving by his tweets I am hopeful.

Here's my "story for this occasion". Basilico and Bemeruca I hope you are paying attention through your alt accounts.

Years back, my brother and I attended World Youth Day. Unfortunately my brother had a freak accident and had to have surgery. Our CYO went and we weren't with our parents. I was kind of worried and was in the hospital room with my brother. Word got back to our Cardinal who we knew well. He told us he would be coming to the hospital room to give my brother a blessing. And to everyone's surprise, in walks he and the Pope at the time and the Pope blessed my brother.

When you spend all your time on here defending them, trying to find a false equivalence that doesn’t exist, just know that they will shoot you without hesitation if you run into the wrong one.

The real ones on here even when they support you to make these insane nonsensical arguments know that they’re careful what neighborhoods they go into. They know what towns not to stop in even if their car is on E. Yes even in certain liberal states some rural communities harbor the staunchest racists.

So while you’re here making silly arguments in favor of racist people bear in mind that if you ever find yourself in America, you shouldn’t believe that asinine propaganda that being aware of racial bias means you’re playing victim. It could very well save your life.
