Please help me sir. How could I possibly react to that? I mean the level of political naivety is so shocking, you can see why they voted for Trump. It's pure radicalisation.

They cannot see reason any longer. They will vote against their own interests. A black man will deliberately ignore racial danger to himself, kinsmen, and offsprings, in the name of something that cannot be explained.
I agree with you.
I'm convinced Raumdeuter doesn't believe the stuff he currently argues. I think there is more going on with him.
He used to think Trump was a racist with racist supporters.
Just read his own words not too long ago.
raumdeuter:
Trump is not a Republican, he is a demagogue. Few years ago he was democrat. Most of his views are not even republican views. I even believed he was planted by the Clintons in the Republican party to scatter our party. He is a close friend of the Clintons, donated to Hillary and they attended his wedding.

He is simply a Trump candidate who represent himself and his fellow racists, Most of the white Blue collar democrats are now going to vote Trump. This shows he is not appealing to Republican but to those who want to take their country back
The most charitable I can be is he sees it as a team sport and he must defend his side at all costs.
It's troll like.

But I'm really not sure how anyone can knowingly support or even argue in favor of people who are out to harm people who look like them esp. their children.
Because I think he knows better it makes him more deplorable.

IMHO, you won't get anywhere with him as he's very practiced in his intellectual dishonesty.

Who are these people that don't like blacks and latinos. Do blacks and latinos like them?
Why are you worried about people who don't like you?
Does everyone in your home country Nigeria where everyone is black like you?
Does everyone in your own hometown where they all have the same skin color and speak the same dialect like you?
Do you even like everyone? If you don't like everyone, why should everyone like you

I am realistic enough to know everyone will never like me no matter what you do, I am okay to live with that
A grown adult should not be crying and worrying about people liking him

If your own interpretation of Trumps policy is go back to Africa, then that is on you, You can read and see then make that determination

For someone like you who have lived in a majority white nation and stated you havent faced racism yet you want others to be worried about this bogeyman that doesnt exist

You are not an independent, you cannot be. I haven't seen anything here from you that expresses that.

Independents don't get to the edge of both the liberals and conservatives, they know what is good on both sides and embrace while speaking out against those things/policies that are wrong.

Like I said, no difference between you guys and the GOP supporters here.
Honestly, you do a lot of speaking, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of in-depth thought behind it.
You assume that your view of what is wrong means that something is wrong.
But your views are shallow. Made without an understating of the things you speak.

It's not your fault, as some of this stuff is highly complicated and interdependent and harder to understand esp. if you don't have an understanding of US history.
And it's harder if you get your news from Twitter and Facebook.

But I've tried not to judge that lack of understanding but you continue to come at my with your bothsidism and view that somehow you are superior because you are in the middle of both liberals and conservatives.
It's a childish stance.
And makes any real discussion impossible.

Take some time and think about why you believe what you believe and what those principles are based on.
And maybe you'll start to understand.

Sorry, for the terse post, I don't have a lot of patience with political newbies who think they have all the understanding there is yet continue to do the false equivalency nonsense.
If you can't see the singular danger of the moment we are in now and somehow believe it is equal to Biden's presidency, you aren't capable of offering a perspective that is thoughtful or insightful.
Pax.

Trump officially put tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China.
I expect the markets to open in the Red on Monday.

Three orders on tariffs are set to take effect Tuesday.
President Trump on Saturday followed through with his threat to impose stiff tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China, setting the stage for a destabilizing trade war with the United States’ largest commercial partners.

Mr. Trump signed three executive orders placing tariffs of 25 percent on all goods from Canada and Mexico, with a slightly lower 10 percent tariff on Canadian oil exports. The president also placed a 10 percent tariff on Chinese goods.

A White House official told reporters on Saturday that there would be no process for companies to get special exemptions from the tariffs and that they were set to go into effect on Tuesday. More strikingly, the official said that the executive orders contain a retaliation clause that would escalate American tariffs if Canada, Mexico or China try to impose their own tariffs on U.S. products in response.

And yes, I can stay out of the warzone the two sides play here, that's why we have Independents. They do not need to be deep into any party to support or speak against a policy.

As a matter of fact, there's no difference between the right guys you condemn and your circle. Both of you are different sides of the same coin.

Imagine.
The same administration that wanted these Air Traffic Controllers resign immediately, now there was an accident are now running their mouths about not enough ATCs.

This same type of thing is playing out in all industries that are regulated by the Fed. government. The difference is that for most of them we won't see the scope of their failures immediately like this.

Just a day before a deadly midair collision at Reagan National Airport outside Washington, D.C., employees at the Federal Aviation Administration were sent an offer to resign with eight months’ pay.

The union for air traffic controllers recommended to its members that they not accept Tuesday’s offer, because the FAA had not decided which positions would be included in the resignation plan. An official for the Office for Personnel Management, the U.S. government’s human resources arm, said Friday that controllers weren’t eligible for the resignation plan or subject to the hiring freeze across much of the rest of federal government.

I was reading your post in the other thread because I was trying to figure out what your angle is.

You said and I quote “If we had one China in each continent, and I don't mean population-wise but in terms of efficiency, the West would have already been put in their place.”

And then you said in a different post “ I'm also now looking forward to the next crash of the US economy.”

You put a lot of act into appearing objective but your anti American sentiment can’t help but manifest itself inbetween the lines.

I used to argue a lot with people who I thought were smart but yet supported republican policies and I wondered what they saw that I didn’t. Turns out I was looking at them from the perspective of people who want us to succeed. Wrong.

You want America to fail. You know Trump is the answer to that problem. He’ll bring about that failure quicker than anyone else can and that why you’re okay with him. You and that Gerard dude who I’ve always known to be anti west will come here and dance with the republicans a little. Give them hope and then go to your other thread to laugh at them.

This is a minor fall, barely a glitch. If you must make numerical arguments, make sure the numbers are material. I believe the news came out late Friday at market close so wait till Monday market opening before shouting uhuru
But the underpinnings are concerning.
Depending on the language, a 25% across the board tariff on Canada and Mexico would be devastating for the US.
I think the market is waiting on the language.
But some Hedge Funds have already started shorting the US Economy.

Where are Trump's minders?
I can't believe the Republican party has decided to entrust the health of the US economy to the hands of a manchild.

Noted correction, forgot to mention 2016.

For someone that plans on doing nothing, he's sure been consistent about wanting "Medicare for all", and won't shut up about it, unlike Biden that said he'd vito it during his admin.
This is besides the fact that the Dems, shafted Bernie especially during the 2016 primaries.

(Note you still haven't proven the initial claim)
If these companies truly did, then they were taking a terrible gamble.
Like the republican farmers that voted for trump and were hoping he wouldn't go through with the deportations, knowing they relied on undocumented immigrant labour.

I'm aware of the appeal of Donald Trump, and the fact that his words and promises should have been taken seriously, that's why were here vocalizing our opposition to him and his policies. During the campaigns and now as president.
Also why I have developed a hatred of the Democratic party, my support for them is purely pragmatic.

I want money out of politics period, politicians should represent the interest their voters, not a few wealthy individuals, some Democrats share my position, almost all Republicans are against it.

So I don't care that Zuckerberg donated to Dems, these people are opportunists, and bendover or hope to control whoever is in power, in hopes of favors. That shouldn't be a thing, neither Elon nor Zuck.

I don't know why you're telling me this, we've had this discussion before and I made my position known.

If your point is that Democrats are often hypocrites, then yeah I agree, but I think Republicans are a death cult that want to bring about the 4th Reich, and turn the USA into Christian Sharia state.
I think the key is to look at how people voted when they had a chance to.
Democrats always have voted to limit money in politics. Republicans the other way around.
It was a conservative court's 5-4 decision that gave us Citizens United which basically allowed unlimited corporate money in elections.
Dems decided they couldn't unilaterally disarm.

Most of the talk surrounding this in this thread seems totally devoid of reality or fact and intellectually dishonest people (raumdeuter) are doing their intellectually dishonest thing.

Nigerian Men Be Romantic
I just left Lagos and I don't see how any relationship there can be healthy.
This is the reason why.

A man who you haven't been on a date yet is telling you, "I, love you"?
When you get to the point of loving someone, you're supposed to want to do what you can to make his life better as well.
If you are a high value woman, why aren't you spending that money that you earned to buy your own dress then?
The concept of love in Nigeria is broken.

This should not be a problem for any serious man to do and a man that truly likes you.

What is transport money that I can't send a girl or money to buy a cloth which she will wear to the same date that I am inviting her.

We the men should understand that the more we try to impress our girls or appreciate them, the more they will consider us capable being a man and worthy of having serious relationship with.

Before our time, they let men fight over beautiful ladies. Some men will have there teeth removed with blows to later win the fight and got married to the lady after many blows that almost blind his eyes and removed his teeths.

What has the generation of men done to impress women? You people don't know how precious women are. Oh my God!
This is nonsense.
Why am I buying a girl an outfit to go out with me?
Men should equally value themselves.
A relationship is a give and take.

One of the programs to help people with disabilities Trump was attacking today started under his administration.

Under Mr. Trump in April 2019, the F.A.A. announced a pilot program for 20 people with targeted disabilities to work in air traffic operations. Targeted disabilities are a set of statutorily defined disabilities, including, but not limited to, those cited by Mr. Trump, that the federal government emphasizes for recruiting. An archived page from June 2019 named the initiative the Aviation Development Program, which “provides an opportunity for persons with targeted disabilities to gain aviation knowledge and experience as an air traffic control student trainee.”
