[quote author=bemeruca post=131326617]Sounds like you can't do anything about it. See, I will post more. , I can't do anything that you lie about living in the US either. Or, that you're a groupie fanboy who is emotionally invested in being seen as "American". Hopefully, you'll find a way to love who you are without pretending you're someone else. |
EnlightenedUFO:Lol There are still some inflection points. Her VP candidate pick and the Convention which Dems usually do a good job producing. So, the polls will look different by the end of the month esp. when the post Summer focusing begins. |
Konkoja:I know. It's tough. He lies and there is no reign him in or fact check him as he lies a mile a minute. And the US Media has normalized him here as in every other topic. But, I also believe it's important for Presidential Candidates to debate. |
bemeruca:I guess being a groupie is so.. |
EnlightenedUFO:I read that ABC would host the debate regardless. So if Trump doesn't show up, Kamala will just get the time. I hope that's accurate. |
EnlightenedUFO:Lol. I mean this is prime time in US politics. The last month or 2 in terms of US politics, historic and nuts. Incumbent renominated President deciding he won't run again. Maybe a brokered convention Ex president almost getting assassinated First Black Female VP who may be the First Female President. US Supreme Court deciding Trump is a king and making sure he won't be on trial during his run. A Fed court judge dropping his case the day before Trump's convention. 2 VP candidates. One saying calling women without children catwoman. And a neck and neck race. And this is still August. If you can't get excited about US politics now.. when then? |
Amujale:Respect. |
bemeruca:It's a forum. This thread is dedicated to American Politics. You can easily create other threads We are in the midst of the actual election. With a lot of news about that. But instead you are here posting about shit that's happening in the UK. If you actually wanted to have a real discussion about Muslims in UK with people who care about that you would start a new thread about it. Instead you repeatedly post that stuff here? Why? You should ask yourself why you feel the need to be seen in this thread. Why you feel the need to associate yourself with America. To discuss things that don't relate to America or American Politics. You have 0 connection to the US outside of wanting to discuss US politics, yet here you are posting non American Politics related "news". Truth is you're a fuxing groupie. Wanting to associate with Americans. Pretending you live in America. That's sad groupie shit. |
bemeruca:American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! |
Obrigardo:Everytime he posts that I'm embarrassed for him. And that he posts it as if he's made some point, it's even more embarrassing. |
bemeruca:Quote where I said this. I think ur confused. |
bemeruca:Initial information? To my understanding she's been a woman her whole life. So the initial information was that she was a woman. Again, you didn't do your research. bemeruca:When did the Olympic authorities allow a man to box a woman? She is a woman boxing a woman. Again you didn't do your research. bemeruca:I'm not sure what you are arguing here. It's always hard to follow your brain dead logic. You leap around, say random things and think you've made a point worthy of a prize. At least you are using the right word rare instead of rear now. |
AmazonTopaz:Are you assuming the Jewish population would support the Dem Party more than they did in 2020? If the Jewish support is the same as 2020 the difference is the Muslim Support. In a close election, that matters. But not only that, the Youth vote is increasingly aligned with what is happening in the Middle East. More than 100,000 Michiganders, 13% of Democratic voters, voted “uncommitted” in the state’s February 27 primary. Michigan is home to the largest Arab American population in the nation. By voting “uncommitted,” they’re signaling to Biden that he risks losing the Arab American vote in the key battleground state. Biden still has a pathway to victory without Michigan, but it's much harder.100,000 people came out to vote uncommitted in Michigan during this years primary. That in itself is a big deal for a primary. Biden won it by 120,000. AmazonTopaz:US will continue to support Israel but what that support looks like will be different. I think it will revert closer to how Obama dealt with it rather than how Biden has dealt with it. Like when Obama chose not to veto the 2016 UN Israel anti settlement resolution which later passed. The coalition that won Obama the election was an increase in young voter turnout. Young voters want to see a shift a balanced Israel policy. I think Harris is going to follow that model. |
bemeruca:1.) It's rare not rear. You've used it 2x incorrectly so it's not a typo. 2.) As to your Update. Let me help you. You were wrong in smearing someone because you reposted misinformation from one of your right ring hate merchants you didn't take the time to research yourself. Something you do often. 3.) You seem to not understand what the US Supreme Court does. This is precisely the kind of issues the Supreme court would address. A novel dispute about a definition where the Court is supposed to hear arguments look at the law and decide. Kind of what she said in the hearing. Kind of like a dispute about an Olympic gymnast being disqualified because the team says she doesn’t meet the requirements of a woman to compete because she she has some Hope these were helpful. |
bemeruca:I've been following this story as it entered US politics. Pretty disgraceful and indicative what is going on in US Right Wing Politics. Two thoughts. 1.) A lot of people on the Right commented, criticized and judged without actually knowing any of the facts. And in doing so tried to destroy a Women's life who didn't do anything wrong. I'm sure few will apologize and admit they were wrong. They trade in this manufactured rage. 2.) It also reminded me of Ketanji Brown's hearing and how she was mocked for saying she was not a Biologist when asked "to provide a definition of the word woman". This is the precise reason. She understood there may be complexity she didn't understand and since she is not an expert in the field, deferred. To the Right Wing everything is easy and "common sense", except it's not. And this boxer is case and point. |
AmazonTopaz:Even if we were talking strictly election politics, not necessarily true. The Dems may need MI to win, and there are enough Muslims in Michigan to swing that state in a close election. So, if they are planning a path without MI then you have a point. But, that's not why me or a large percentage of people vote Dem. We vote Dem because Dems do the right thing and try to speak with a moral clarity. And what is happening in the Middle East is not the right thing. What is going on looks too much like an apartheid state with one group of people giving a permanent underclass status. So, the unequivocal support of ISrael, no matter what they do, would cost Dems more than just the Palestinian vote in the end. |
The whole headline is wild and gives cover to Trump. They don't report that Trump backed out of a scheduled debate, yet are reporting a made up story that he and Harris agreed to debate. Below should have been a better headline. They modified it slightly, but I may cancel my subscription over this.
|
What is this headline by the NY times? They(and other news media) still continue to get played by Trump because they think being fair and balanced is reporting what each side says as fact. The problem is that Trump is a liar and has been for a while. Trump Agreed to do a "debate" with Fox News. He did not negotiate with Harris and Harris did not agree. He basically made up a debate and the NY times just added legitimacy to it. Been seeing this type of thing from the NY times for a while now. The US News media is failing in the era of Trump.

Dicoomoba:I'm sure it is. <sarcasm> That you think what is currently going on in Nigeria is at all similar to the US is somewhat delusional (no disrespect meant). |
Dicoomoba:I assume you live in Nigeria. What is troubling you the most, high food costs, high gas costs, lack of jobs, insecurity or LGBT people? Your focus seems very weird to me. |
LordAdam16:LordDumfuq nuggets of wisdom -Dems are forcing Republican pollster Scott Rasmussen to say Harris is up by 5 points in the polls to keep Republicans from voting to help Dems… derp derp derp. -A poll said something different today than a different poll said yesterday.. Explain it.. Derp Derp Derp |
LordAdam16:You are really insecure aren't you. You were made a fool with these lies/spam in the EPL thread. You literally ran away when you were asked to prove your point. Don't let me embarrass you some more. Some more of your quality logic: "I won't answer your question in this EPL thread where we can talk about anything because I won't litter it, but I will litter it with me spamming the same thing. derp derp derp. -Lord dumFuq" LordAdam16:The lying dishonest Lord Dumfuq. MAGA is weird And Nigerians who live in Nigeria, who burn their data to support MAGA are weirder. |
reccy:That's good to hear. You know given all the corruption, tribalism and lack of accountability in Naij, I'd assume more people would be open to the Dems message and someone like Trump would be too familiar a candidate and anathema. You know I still don't have a clear understanding why most Nigerians on this board/thread support Trump, well outside of my assumption of Religion. |
LordAdam16:This is mostly blather. Kamala Harris is Black American. There is no one who is going to vote for Trump that would have voted for her because of this issue. What this issue will do is remind black people of how racist Trump is. You wouldn't have a clue about any part of US culture. Because you understand the US through your phone with a filter of right wing propaganda. You should stick to getting your facts right instead of pretending to be an expert on US blackness. What is hilarious, you are trying to export the tribalism that makes Nigeria as fuxed up as it is to the US in support of a Racist who thinks you are shit and the country you live in is a shithole. Nigerian MAGA support is a mental disease. |
LordAdam16:Again. 1.) She is African American as defined by the US The US Census defines African American Black or African American – A person having origins in any of the Black racial groups of Africa.2.)Don Lemon is making an argument strictly delineating based on is she a descendent of slaves or descendent from someone coming out of Jim crow. It's a long debate and I'm not debating that point with you. I will amend my statement and say 95% plus of African Americans will say she is African American. Don Lemon and your argument means someone like Biggie Smalls, Malcolm X, Colin Powell and Kerry Washington wouldn't be considered African American. It's stupid What's the difference between you and Trump trying to tell Black people in the US how they should identify. |
AmazonTopaz:I think he is somewhat to the right of where I think the Dem. party wants to be on this. He's closer to Biden's position than what I think Kamala would be. Kamala will be on top of the ticket, so to me it doesn't matter much, but I think the Muslim population in Michigan is ready to take a burn it all down stance. (and I know I'm overgeneralizing, but this is from the interviews of Michigan Muslim voters I've heard). Will it matter? I don't know. I think as the election get closer and people really have to decide to actively make a choice that will put Trump back in power, attitudes may change. |
ObaIgwe1:Yeah. Buttigeg would have been a good choice, outside of what you mentioned and not sure he offers any electoral help. The Palestinians in Michigan is the problem with Shapiro. Harris does have empathy but still part of the Biden administration. And the way their community sounds, they were willing to burn it all down and go with Trump to make a point. So, she is on that edge with their support. But, I'll trust that they polled enough to see any potential issues in MI. |
LordAdam16:Narrowly defined by who? You don't live in the US. And so you don't get a say. You have 0 idea what you are talking about. She is African American as defined by African Americans in the US. Shut the Fuq up. |
LordAdam16:Red and Blue? Did you register to Vote? Wtf. |
reccy:I know he's your boy but you're both siding. He lies when he's wrong. Call a spade a spade. A lot of his positions/conspiracies if you look closely enough are based on lies, misconceptions, or incorrect facts. And those incorrect facts are the crux of his conspiracy. I mean you can't argue a poll is created by Dems to prevent people from voting. But then be Wrong or not Understand that that poll was created by a Republican leaning pollster, a famous one at that. It kills your whole point, No? |
LordAdam16:I'll be collecting these LordDumfuq nuggets of wisdom -Dems are forcing Republican pollster Scott Rasmussen to say Harris is up by 5 points in the polls to keep Republicans from voting to help Dems… derp derp derp. -Lord -A poll said something different today than a different poll said yesterday.. Explain it.. Derp Derp Derp -Lord |
