basilico:I hate stupid people and people who use their positions to enrich themselves at the expense of others esp. their own race. I hope that sentence wasn't too complex for you. It may help you figure why I don't interact with you here. Real question though? Why is it that the same Republicans, who crow endlessly about black people using the race card, but the secound anything negative happens to a black Republican, they'll complain incessantly about Dems purposefully targeting black Republicans? I go through life in the US and have to rationalize all the negative experiences I have at the hands of white people to discern if it was really racism at play. When 10 cops surrounded my friends and I guns ablaze going back to my apartment in an expensive (white) part of Boston. We had to go through all the reasons they might have had (were we doing anything?, did we give them a reason?), before settling on yeah it was racist. But a black leader of a Violent insurrection group tries to overthrow the US government in an attempted COUP? It's the Demarcatic party targeting him because he is black. You can miss me with that bullsh*t. |
bemeruca:Yes, let me. 1.) The part in [ ] "[ and that was the reason he got a longer sentence. ]" is the inference derived from the statement "Tarrio was the leader" . I thought it was unnecessary to have to spell it out... But clearly some us (you) need basic concepts spelled out. 2.) My statement had 2 parts both meant to rebut basilico's nonsensical statements. Part 1: "Tarro was the leader of the Proud Boys." - was used to explain why he got a heftier jail time in comparison to the other defendants. Part 2: "Also, the US government has an incentive for making the penalty for insurrection and such crimes involving overthrowing the government very tough. Hence the death penalty for something like treason. And hence the 22 years Tarro received" - was used to explain the length in the sentence in comparison to other crimes . i.e. the US has to take a strong deterrent stance on trying to bring down the country/government. Let me know if you want me to diagram it for you. Honestly, the more you keep typing the dumber you sound. If you knew shame you'd feel embarrassed. But your posts here show no such ability for self reflection. Know your strengths; logical reasoning/thinking isn't one. |
bemeruca:Basilico: Tarrio got a longer Sentence because he is black. Dems hate black people. [more nutter nonsense]. Judge who handed down sentence: Tarrio got a longer sentence because he was the leader and organizer. 22 years for Tarrio, 17 and 15 years for the other 2. IjeBos: Tarrio was the leader [and that was the reason he got a longer sentence.] benalvino_benalvino2_benalvino3_bemeruca: Bringing up that Tarrio was the leader is a Strawman. ( scratching head) Again, you prove my earlier point. Your mental deficiencies are only matched by your ability to endlessly argue something you are wrong about. A smarter person would have moved on by now. |
bemeruca:1.) You have a talent for using words you don't understand. Here is the definition of a strawman argument. Put it on a flashcard and commit it to memory. noun: strawman2.) Basilico's basic argument: Tarrio got a heavier sentence because he was black. basilico:My argument: Tarrio was the leader of the group and leaders are usually given heavier sentences . That fact makes his argument dubious at best. (Yes I truncated my argument because I assumed most people would understand it. My fault for overestimating you.) In fact the judge said this at sentencing. Maybe the judge was also using a strawman. Lol “Mr. Tarrio was the ultimate leader, the ultimate person who organized, who was motivated by revolutionary zeal,” Kelly said at the end of the three hour hearing, adding that he has shown “no remorse.”https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/05/politics/enrique-tarrio-sentencing-proud-boys-seditious-conspiracy/index.html 3.) Look it, you are a mental midget. When you accept that, you'll stop putting yourself in positions to get pummeled by me. Take the L and stop chasing me around this thread seeking my affirmation. |
bemeruca:I read this and am dumber for it. Thanks. You're incoherent as a troll. And you're incoherent posting anything substantial. Honestly, you should go back to pretending to be a Christian in the Religion forum, at least your posts there had a semblance of sense. |
bemeruca:Did you fall on your head or have a stroke recently? It's a serious question. Your posts are becoming more and more incoherent and bizarre. You're soon going to be giving Mr. Kikkkikiki a run for his money when it comes to incoherent posters. |
LordReed:I used to agree with you. Not sure now. I recently read a piece where someone was arguing that there are jails designed to hold high value/security prisoners. And one of them would work for Trump. Hence, imprisoning him will be doable. But I also cans see a judge using security concerns as an excuse not to jail him. |
basilico:Fact Check 1.) Tarro was the leader of the Proud Boys. Also, the US government has an incentive for making the penalty for insurrection and such crimes involving overthrowing the government very tough. Hence the death penalty for something like treason. And hence the 22 years Tarro received. 2.) As to Harrison Floyd, it seems he wanted to continue his grift and thought being arrested would help him with that so wanted to be booked and jailed. The day Floyd turned himself in, Willis told an attorney who had previously represented him that she had sent someone to meet with him at the jail to offer him a bond but he refused it and said he didn’t want to talk without a lawyer, according to a recording of the call her office provided to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Willis said Floyd “made somewhat of a scene in the lobby of the jail and basically just begged to be booked in,” the newspaper reported.https://apnews.com/article/trump-georgia-election-indictment-jail-harrison-floyd-6eee3a21aa8e90e17c84a20d6be94b5c Also, it seems he was recently arrested on a Federal warrant for a different issue. That would affect his bail as well. In addition to the Georgia charges, federal court records show Floyd, identified as a former U.S. Marine who’s active with the group Black Voices for Trump, was also arrested three months ago in Maryland on a federal warrant that accuses him of aggressively confronting two FBI agents sent to serve him with a grand jury subpoena. |
Obrigardo:Imagine doing 22 years (well probably less after parole) for a piece of sh*t like Trump. If it wasn't for maybe conjugal visits and the fact he may get out jail someday, Tarrio would be a top contender for a Darwin award. |
Obrigardo:If he doesn't plead down, I'm convinced he will be convicted on some if not all the charges. I've sat on a couple of juries, and from what I've seen jurors generally want to do the right thing and follow the law. The question I have is what happens after will he go to jail or will they give him house arrest of some sort. |
Obrigardo:I am sure it will go up to the Supreme Court. I am curious what the Supreme Court will do here. Given it's conservative bend I can see them punting on the issue. |
Bad Judicial Day for Trump 1.) The GA Judge didn't sever the trial of Chesebro and the Kraken Lady. They both filed for Speedy trials that will be on October 23rd. So, they both will be tried together and I think the odds of conviction went up for both. So, there is a good chance one will probably flip on everyone else sooner than later to keep themselves out of jail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehf01mkBf1E 2.) The Mar-a-Lago IT worker (who the used to be represented by a Trump paid lawyer until the Judge offered him a public defender) struck a cooperation agreement with the special counsel. Meaning he flipped on Trump. Very bad news for the obstruction portion of Trump's FL Federal Trial. https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/06/politics/mar-a-lago-it-worker/index.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhGpBXrgXe4 |
This 14th amendment court challenge is going to be very interesting. I think there is a compelling case given then guilty verdicts for seditious conspiracy that he should be disqualified.

bemeruca:I'm proud of you benalvino1_benalvino2_benalvino3_bemurica. You used to to do the same things as basilico did, but seem to know your limitations now. I remember the famous episode when you posted a video which had a headline that aligned with what you were thinking (I think it was "People who got booster shots had a higher rate of testing positive for Covid " ) . The hilarious part was the video was actually explaining why people who believed the headline were wrong. Lol. Remember you then trying to argue why the video was wrong and I should just read the headline as it proved your point? Good times. Lol. The good thing as evidenced by your post above is you've learned your limitations and don't post anything of substance anymore where you're sure to be wrong. The bad, you're just an unfunny, unwitty troll. Keep on keeping on. |
basilico: Fact check. 1.) This is a recent appeals court ruling (ruling dropped yesterday) as Alabama ignored the initial/defied the initial Supreme Court ruling as covered in my post. Reading comprehension is important. IjeBos: |
LordReed:Lolz But seriously, that's why I think he is a paid poster. It's hard to imagine anyone posting that much on any topic and not either reading the things he posts or comprehending them enough to know they are contrary to the point he is making. So, I would think calling him a paid poster would be a compliment. |
Big Deal Ruling. With other states having to do the same, it may net Dems enough seats to win the House even before the election next year. Judges reject Alabama’s congressional lines, will draw new districts to increase Black voting power https://apnews.com/article/alabama-redistricting-ruling-black-population-affd7b662f65b0b28da42fb88f72207e Back Story: 1.) Shelby County challenged Section 5 of the Voting Rights act law requiring jurisdictions with a history of discrimination to obtain approval from the Department of Justice or a court before changing voting rules. It was a process called “preclearance.” The Supreme Court led by the conservative right found this section unconstitutional. Justice Roberts said, it was no longer needed. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote in her dissent, “Throwing out preclearance when it has worked and is continuing to work to stop discriminatory changes is like throwing away your umbrella in a rainstorm because you are not getting wet.” Btw, red state Alabama challenged this. You know the Republican party that basilico and "benalvino[1-3],bemeruca" want you to believe is the party in support of civil rights. 2.) As expected without preclearance these Republican states started passing discriminating laws targeting African Americans and diluting their voting rights. Suprise Suprise. Again, these are the very Republicans basilico and "benalvino[1-3],bemeruca" want you to believe is the party in support of civil rights. 3.) Alabama was sued when they drew a congressional map that diluted African American votes to create more "easy win" Republican districts. The case wound it's way to the Supreme Court after the Appeals court found the maps discriminatory. The Conservative Supreme court agreed with the Appeals court and ordered Alabama to redraw the maps. Surprise Surprise, Justice Thomas dissented. You know the same Justice Thomas basilico and "benalvino[1-3],bemeruca" will call everyone "coons" defending. 4.) Alabama ignored/defied the Supreme Court ruling and redrew basically the same maps. (the party of Law and Order indeed). Alabama got sued again, the case went to the Appeals court, which again called the maps discriminatory and were "deeply troubled" they defied the Supreme Court ruling. The appeals court appointed their own panel to create new maps. And here we are. Yes people, here is the party basilico and co. want you to believe is the party of "civil rights" and "law and order".

LordReed:I'm not even sure why Trump's team put this in their filing. Most Judges aren't right wing trolls and as you said it's not only not the precedent they are looking for, it in fact it hurts their case. But I'll defend basilico a little. I think us "liberals, as basilico would call us", mistakenly believe everyone has the ability to read the article basliico posted and comprehend it fully. But it does contain some weighty concepts. And, though, I still believe basilico is a paid troll, if he is not it may not be fully his fault as he is probably unable to comprehend the stuff he posts, outside of the headlines. It sucks that even in the US there is still such a disparity in education. |
bemeruca:Due Diligence, Dictionaries, Thesauruses, Excel, Universities and Books are generally tools of the educated organized mind. All things you seem to have problems with. Go Figure. FYI, the debate isn't between you and I, but you and the words you wrote. You should take some time and figure out how you found yourself becoming this online troll personifying the worst traits of humanity. These are your words, nothing I made up: benalvino:Does it make you feel better believing I'm a jobless loser like yourself and your amigos on this thread? Let me continue popping your bubble. Currently in NAPA for Labor Day weekend. Enjoy the weekend. Lol.

bemeruca:Here are your last few posts benalvino, benalvino2, benalvino3, bemurica. bemeruca: bemeruca: bemeruca: bemeruca: bemeruca:Mensa level posting. Stellar Stuff. You should have listened to yourself all those years ago. It seems in the end you've become what you despised. Well done. ![]() benalvino: |

BraniacX:There is little value in responding to him. His posts are devoid of anything substantial. They are unwitty and unfunny to boot. It must suck that that is how he enjoys himself. I would commit seppuku if that's what I had to look fwd. to daily. |
basilico:1.) Yale Law School: Anyone interested should google Yale's 2023 entrance stats. And cross reference that with the LSAT's percentile rankings. It is one of THE hardest schools to get into. Here is a link: https://law.yale.edu/admissions/profiles-statistics 2.) Hunter Biden: Hunter Biden has been investigated for 5 years by a Prosecutor appointed by Trump and asked to investigate him by Bill Barr and a team of IRS and FBI agents. And the best they came up with were those two charges (both rarely charged on a regular person). But maybe if they investigate him for another 5 years they'll find all this dirt you've found from your etisalat connection in Nigeria. |
LordReed:I like Franken, even bought his book "Lies and the Lying liars that tell them", but him winning the presidency was going to be a long shot. He's more progressive than Biden(less appealing to the middle of the electorate) and he doesn't have that "je ne sais quoi" needed to win. There's been rumblings he may run for something at some point. |
LordReed:Exactly. They got rid of Al Franken who was a comedian playing a gag while the Republicans elected Mr. grab them by the kitten. How do those things balance. Dems do policy well and politics bad, Republicans the opposite. But if the Dems can't do Politics, they won't get the chance to do good policy. Again Hunter Biden. It has been political malpractice. Yes, he is a skeezy Wall St. bro, but they have let Republicans define him and are attempting to play the same game with Pres. Biden as they did with Bill Clinton, Clinton's wife, Kerry (Swift Boat) and they tried with Obama and his birth certificate. Most Republicans/people believe Hunter he was some bum who somehow got on the board of an international company for no reason. He went to Georgetown, then Yale Law School (the hardest law school in probably the World to get into). He sat on other boards as well. He's not a stupid person. He was going to make money. Look at what JD Vance did with his Yale Law Degree. The thing is Dems generally do believe in what they preach (the save the world types). They believe that the parts aren't greater than the whole. So Franken was in a safe seat so, any other Senator would be just as good w/o the political downside. |
And to follow up about Dems being Weak and needing to get it together and be tougher. Here are a couple of articles about Hunter Biden and the deal that ultimately collapsed. Inside the Collapse of Hunter Biden’s Plea Deal https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/19/us/politics/inside-hunter-biden-plea-deal.html Did Hunter Biden Get Off Easy? Republicans Think So—Here’s What Legal Experts Say https://www.forbes.com/sites/saradorn/2023/06/20/did-hunter-biden-get-off-easy-republicans-thinks-so-heres-what-legal-experts-say/?sh=52463acd794b Take Aways 1 .) Suprise Surprise, Hunter Biden had been treated harsher than the average person. The two things he tried to plead guilty to generally aren't charged. a.) The Gun Charge: Generally not charged. And even moreso, given the makeup of the Supreme Court, people believe it will be ruled unconstitutional and is on that course. It was just ruled unconstitutional by an Appeals court. Hunter Biden Gets Boost as Judge Rules Gun Charge Unconstitutional https://www.newsweek.com/hunter-biden-gets-boost-judge-rules-gun-charge-unconstitutional-1818871#:~:text=In%20a%20ruling%20issued%20on,of%20his%20Second%20Amendment%20rights. b.) The Tax Charge: Generally when people pay back their taxes, interest and penalties they are not charged for Tax crimes. We don't have to look far to see this. Just look at Roger Stone. He owed more for a longer period and wasn't charged criminally, but the DOJ went civil route Hunter Biden’s so-called ‘sweetheart’ tax deal looks tougher than the deal Roger Stone got for dodging taxes https://www.floridabulldog.org/2023/06/hunter-biden-sweetheart-deal-tougher-roger-stone-tax-deal/#google_vignette (Aside: I think this is where the 2 tiered system of justice comes in. Not charging wealthy people who dodge taxes incentivizes them to do so I believe.) 2.) The now Special Prosecutor tried to screw Hunter Biden and lied to the Judge. The deal did include a broad immunity. And they kept changing the deal because of the noise Republicans were making. Hence letting politics drive their decision. I don't care about Hunter Biden, but do care that Dems, even when they have the law and history on their side seem to always bend over backwards for Republicans. Even Merrick Garland. |
budaatum:I understand why you think this. You're hopeful and want to believe people want to do the right thing. But parts of the right are irredeemable. Thomas is a culmination of decades of Wealthy Right Wingers planning and influence to corruptly take over US policy and insulate themselves from any accountability and grow their wealth. He is irredeemable in so far as what we see a Judge should be, because he is actually doing the job he was sent there and being paid to do by all his Billionaire New Old friends. Think about this, the right is arguing that somehow Supreme Court Justices who appointed for life shouldn't have ethics rules. There was a poll that 90% of Americans believe Supreme Court Justices should have strict ethics rules. Read this thread by Sen. WhiteHouse https://twitter.com/SenWhitehouse/status/1697240885153472959 I think we have to stop hoping Republicans will be better, be more aggressive and put in place laws that don't give them the choice.
|
budaatum:The Republican party has devolved. Laws are important unless they break them. All BS all the time. See Vivek Ramaswamy. |
Obrigardo:Really? Didn't know that. |
Trump's first court date has been set for March 4, 2024. Right before the Super Tuesday's primaries of March 5th. Interesting choice by the judge. Also Republican GA Gov. Kemp shut down the idea of a commission to remove Fani Willis (prosecutor who indicted Trump) saying he had seen "no evidence" to do so. In a sane world the Republican Gov. saying this should kill all talk of a rigged prosecution. But Trump's world isn't sane. "Kemp is a Rino" incoming in ... 3...2...1.
|
Lol @ Trump self reporting he is 6'3, 215 pounds. Lol. His motto should be "always be lying".
