xandy84:You're not wrong. I almost moved to the Lagos pre pandemic. So, yeah at a certain level value of life in Lagos can be better. And you're not wrong about post conviction. But with a US passport you can leave, build again and come back. Interesting research. Did you find race/racism had an impact on recidivism? |
xandy84:True, but all things being equal, better to be a US citizen than not when dealing with the exact same situation. Like in this situation, with a US citizenship, the guy would at least be able to stay in the US with his children. And though he would be a felon, if he really wanted to he could find opportunities. But, because he's not a citizen he'll most likely be deported. |
For anyone interested, 8 U.S. Code § 1227 spells out the classes of deportable aliens (what aliens can be deported for). Below are some. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/8/1227

Unperturbedpota:1.) I'm a US citizen. 2.) He's making a good point. I think he was arguing in the situation where it wasn't a federal conviction. If he was convicted in State court of a felony what would happen? Not sure how independent states are in Nigeria, but they are independent in the US, though Federal law is supreme. Because of that there has to be a way for the Federal government to know he was arrested and convicted of a felony that may make him eligible for deportation. So, if the state must report it, there is a possibility he could fall through some cracks in the reporting process. I don't know, but it makes sense. |
DiscoverID:You should take the propaganda to another thread. The basis of your argument is not based in any facts outside the rantings in right wing echo chambers. And, yes I'm fully aware of the allegations and no I'm not arguing it with you. |
Unperturbedpota:I don't think all the insults are necessary here. I believe he may have a point. As I believe the states have to report it to the Federal government. Similar to what some states are doing/not doing with illegal immigrants. |
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. But there is a lesson here. If you can get your US citizenship, get it done. Don't procrastinate esp. since it doesn't effect your Nigerian citizenship. You, never know what happens in life. And you'd rather be facing it with the protections of a US citizenship than not. |
BraniacX:It is his current method indeed. Has all the intellectual heft of a 5 year old yelling "I'm rubber, your glue.. blah blah blah". Clearly the level of discourse he's accustomed and unfortunately, the level of discourse he and his amigos bring to this thread. But, maybe it's something he can't quite help. |
There was another Racist shooting of black people by a self professed White Supremacist in Florida. Before that, I was speaking to a white neighbor last weekend wekend. They have a vacation/winter house in Florida. They told me they were staying in Boston this year because how crazy Florida had become. These two are thoughtful people but not "dyed in the wool" liberals. So, their words were startling. Anyhow, I always wonder what are in the hearts of Republicans. They seem to be playing to the lowest common denominator(Racist White Supremacists) for votes/grift since most of these voters are diehard Trump supporters. Do they not understand the chasm they are opening up? https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/26/us/dollar-general-shooting-jacksonville-florida.html

Obrigardo:Yeah, that's slyfoxx. These are more of SlyFoxx's recent "new" usernames so you can know who you are talking to. SlyFoxx = Timesup2345, MentalCase98, BornAgainCow, Shellaking4real, NotoriousThug, Wonderman76 I'm sure there are others, but I'll leave it there for now. It's actually sad one person can be this nuts and have this much time on his hands. Nigerians have to get rid of the Mental Health Illness stigma. |
Obrigardo:Let me go through some of the posts. |
Anyone interested in the legal contours of Trump's document case. This is a good synopsis of Judge Cannon's recent hearing/motions. Summary; Judge Cannon stepped in it by not allowing the SCO(Special Counsel Office) to file the motion sealed and asking why a secret Grand Jury was empaneled in DC. So the SCO took the opportunity to explain that a witness lied to the Grand Jury in DC and Trump's lawyer has a conflict of interest. So, the Grand Jury was dealing with that. That witness was one of the IT workers who helped Trump commit obstruction. And here is the kicker, he admitted he lied, admitted Trump directed him to commit obstruction only after the Grand Jury Judge appointed him a Public Defender to counsel him against the wishes of his paid by Trump PAC lawyer. I bet Cannon and Trump's lawyer now wish Cannon would have kept all this under seal. Judge Cannon is fn'ing inept. And seems to not have learned all things Trump touches dies. https://twitter.com/rparloff/status/1694270181567078607 Parts of the tweet. Some interesting stuff but also in the weeds. [b]Govt’s filing yesterday in USA v Trump (MAL) is devastating. It was responding to Judge Cannon’s inquiry—acting on her own—suggesting there was something abusive about govt’s continued use of DC grand jury after M-a-L indictment was handed down. ... /1 |
Patented:Thanks. That makes sense. So, a friend of mine recently cautioned me against it. Told me he had a friend die in Ikoyi biking. I'm double minded and so following the path of least resistance, most likely won't bring a bike, but would still like to bike at least once while I'm there. Is there any place to rent a decent bike? Appreciate all the info. |
Shellaking4real:You should probably stay out of business you don't understand. This is a matter of someone saying they do know/will find out my identity. Claimed that they know DSS agents and will have me arrested at the airport. That they will monitor the hotel that I stay and have me arrested/raped. I told him it sounded the rantings of a mad man and I didn't take if seriously until 1.) He said he knew/was working hard to find out my identity 2.) Said he knew the site owner and he was going to reveal my info to him and 3.)disclosed that their mother used to work in the hotel I regularly stay and would harass me there (even posted a bank transaction with the woman's name of a payment he claims the woman sent him to research me). Outside of the mother thing, I assume the rest isn't true, but like with all things Nigeria, and the seemingly depravity of this guy it is better to be safe than sorry. Have no need to take it court. Too much time to invest when I'll be in Nigeria for a couple of weeks. He knows what I told him I would do and those methods don't require that. Edit: I thought about this. You may be flogged out of court. Me, on the other hand, not so much. But it is Nigeria and things work differently for different people. |
bemeruca:"Locker Talk" lol. Right. Reads exactly the way it would for someone who's never been inside a locker room. This whole post is a tell. Only guys who weren't "popular" with women and who don't get woman think what Trump said is what a "popular" guy would say. Again. Reads like someone who wasn't "popular" in school His shit was rapey. I have some very degenerate male friends, (cocaine off woman's breasts they just met in a hotel bathroom type). And none of them would say that sh*t. In fact we all laughed about it after the fact at how NUTZ it was. Who says that even in joking; a Rapist does. |
MentalCase98:Well Done Femi, ~2 hours a day on here! 2 hours a day spent talking about a country you want to wipe out and you've never been too. Momsie must be proud. As I said, wash your a$$ go outside and see the sun. I thought your mom already paid you 15k to find out who I am. How'd that go? Still threatening people I see, you'll learn your lesson soon.
|
DeepSight:At any age. That shit Trump said wasn't locker room talk but "rape-y" talk. No one talks like that outside of sexual predators. And there is a big difference between sleeping with a lot of woman and being a sexual predator.. consent. |
DeepSight:I thought so too. But I was shocked to find out that MentalCase/SlyFoxx/Timesup is a man his late 30's.. |
basilico:Fact Check: 1.) The FDA has not recommended taking Ivermectin 2.) The image in this post is a purposefully out of context quote from a lawsuit against the FDA. As you can tell Basilco does not post the link to the quote. |
budaatum:Yeah, I thought he may get "mansion arrest" or arrest in part of his mansion, but read a good article where someone made the point that some jails have specific housing to protect high value detainees like him. So it shouldn't be a problem that he has secret service detail. But not sure who will be detaining him, maybe depends on who gets the first indictment (GA vs. Feds). And Trump can't be pardoned or released by the Governor or anyone in GA until at least 5 years after serving his sentence. budaatum:I don't think it's the conviction that scares people. It's the jail time. Look at all the people that were convicted and Trump pardoned. They are still doing their grift. There's also been a lot of good discussions about the effect of Nixon's pardon leading to Presidents abusing the office without the fear of consequences. Reagan Iran/Contra, Bush Torture and Iraq War for example. |
budaatum:I understand where you are coming from. But Biden shouldn't pardon him. And if he gets indicted and convicted in Georgia, he can't anyhow. (Georgia's charges are serious; breaking into voting machines etc.). Trump has set up a lawlessness, where people do things and break the law with an expectation that the Justice Department is too weak to come after them. I think Obama started that with the GOP and not going after Dick Cheney and the 2nd Bush admin for all he did for getting us into war in Iraq. It's just festered. It's going to be good for future generations to see political actors in jail and in jail because their partners and friends flipped on them. Will set up an appropriate amount of paranoia when people attempt to do what Trump and co. have. |
MentalCase98:Unlimited in flight wifi is nice. Lol. Words from someone who's never been on a long haul flight. Nobody to talk to? Lol. I'm in a flying tin can passing the time. Yet you.. are here, post after post at 1:00 AM Naija time. Tell me which one of us 2 has issues. MentalCase98:You think you are bulllying me? Lol. Why am I the one here laughing? lol |
MentalCase98:So, you are basically saying, you(Femi, Syfoxx) ain't shit, because if you were you wouldn't spend all the time you do here (all the usernames and hours and hours). Did I get that right? |
