Brandon Carr who had the final say for the approval of the merger between Paramount(CBS' parent company) and Skydance linked it to the BS lawsuit.
Paramount settled for 16 million so the merger could be approved.
When the deal closed, they got 8 billion in cash. So, 16 million in exchange for 8 billion.
It was so out and open bribery that the Paramount board was scared they could be prosecuted for bribery post Trump.
