This is a federal judge calling out the Trump administration attempting to use the bid to unseal the Epstein documents a distraction.

A member of the public familiar with the Maxwell trial record who reviewed the grand jury materials that the Government proposes to unseal would thus learn next to nothing new. The materials do not identify any person other than Epstein and Maxwell as having had sexual contact with a minor. They do not discuss or identify any client of Epstein’s or Maxwell’s. They do not reveal any heretofore unknown means or methods of Epstein’s or Maxwell’s crimes.

The one colorable argument under that doctrine for unsealing in this case, in fact, is that doing so would expose as disingenuous the Government’s public explanations for moving to unseal. A member of the public, appreciating that the Maxwell grand jury materials do not contribute anything to public knowledge, might conclude that the Government’s motion for their unsealing was aimed not at “transparency” but at diversion—aimed not at full disclosure but at the illusion of such. And there is precedent—In re Biaggi, the fountainhead of the Second Circuit’s “special circumstances” doctrine—permitting a court to order the release of grand jury testimony to correct a movant’s misleading public characterization of it.

This Court gave careful consideration to unsealing the Maxwell grand jury materials on a similar rationale. But with the Government having now conceded that the information it proposes to release is redundant of the public record—that this information was “made publicly available at [Maxwell’s] trial or has otherwise been publicly reported”—the public interest in testing the Government’s bona fides does not require the extraordinary step of unsealing grand jury records. Dkt. 800 at 3. Without any need to review the grand jury materials, the public can evaluate for itself the Government’s asserted bases for making this motion.

Lufthansa has had direct flights from Frankfurt to Chicago and to Boston for 40 years. A week or two ago, they permanently shut these flights down due to lack of interest. Miami Dade airport has had to shut, permanently, 30 gates because so few people are coming there that they don’t need those gates anymore.

Think of all the shops cafes, coffee shops etc in those airports that have shut down. More unemployment as a result lack of customers.
Do you have news of this?
Boston-Frankfurt-Lagos was one of the routes my parents used to love. They spoke of Lufthansa fondly.

Unlike you, I understand the bigger geopolitics at play.
The very reason Western countries speak so much about War crimes and rules of war.
The very reason the US goes out of its way to seem like they are not committing wanton acts of violence in war.

You are unbeknownst to yourself justifying attacks on Western countries, by arguing that people can be killed because they took pictures of someone who they think is committing terrorist acts.
FYI, the US and the UK give Netanyahu weapons who is credibly accused of War crimes.
How many western leaders have taken pictures with him?

You seem not to have thought any of this through as you emotionally snortle and get kiddy as Israel kills people because they took pictures with someone.

Here we go, another Hamas terrorist killed while moonlighting as a journalist. Nateevs and Budatuum can now add this to their journalist count.

The IDF Struck the Terrorist Anas Al-Sharif Who Posed as a Journalist for the Al Jazeera Network

The IDF had previously disclosed intelligence information and many documents found in the Gaza Strip, confirming his military affiliation to Hamas. The documents include personnel rosters, lists of terrorist training courses, phone directories, and salary documents for the terrorist, and provide unequivocal proof that he serves as a military terrorist in Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Here he is in a selfie with deceased Hamas leader Sinwar and Hamas leadership

You woke up in the AM to justify war crimes because Israel used the word terrorist in their story.
Was that the same thing they said about the other 242 journalists they killed?
What about the American journalist who was shot in the head?

It's a coincidence that Israel is about to start a ground invasion of Gaza, they refuse to let in international journalists and all of a sudden one of the more popular Palestinian journalist is a terrorist who had to be killed, not captured.

Per Occam's razor, is it easier to believe Israel just doesn't want anyone reporting what they are doing in Gaza and they'll go to extreme lengths to do it (killing journalists and preventing foreign journalists from entering) or that all 242 journalists they've killed have all been accidents or terrorists (whatever that means), actively participating in war?
Should be an easy answer for the unemotional.

For someone who is so invested in not sounding like an emotional "woman" (per your words). You do get very emotional and seem to let your emotions take over your ability to reason when you hear the word "terrorist".
Almost like that's the reason Israel uses it.

Good Read

Republicans are really good at this. Of course, it is helped by their ability to game the "limitations" of their followers.
You can see the fruits of it in this thread:

How It Works in Practice

The clearest example of this phenomenon emerged after the 2020 election. While Trump's loss was evident to anyone examining the numbers, his digital operation wasn’t ready to give up yet. Instead, they immediately pivoted from winning votes to winning the narrative.

Enter "Stop the Steal."

This phrase was short, punchy, and emotionally charged. It required no explanation; it conveyed both the alleged crime and verdict in just three words. On November 4, a coordinated network of Trump loyalists — from fringe activists to high-profile influencers — began pushing this slogan across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, and a flurry of fringe pro-Trump platforms. They didn't wait for organic discovery.

Instead, they launched a synchronized barrage: identical graphics posted across dozens of pages, influencers with millions of followers tweeting the same phrase within minutes of each other, and carbon-copy Facebook groups suddenly appearing in every swing state.

...

The right has built a seamless outrage-to-amplification pipeline. Conservative media outlets, MAGA influencers, talk radio, cable news, and elected officials work in concert. They push identical storylines simultaneously, using consistent hashtags, graphics, and talking points to create the velocity that algorithms can't ignore.

And because right-wing messaging often portrays Big Tech as biased against conservatives, any moderation attempt can be reframed as censorship. This "censorship" content triggers its own engagement spike, extending the feedback loop.

It's a self-perpetuating system: create outrage, get boosted, cry censorship, repeat.
