Can't make this stuff up. In order to convict Abrego Garcia they are releasing a violent convict who was supposed to be deported and will be giving him a work permit as well. The Trump administration has agreed to release from prison a three-time felon who drunkenly fired shots in a Texas community and spare him from deportation in exchange for his cooperation in the federal prosecution of Kilmar Abrego García, according to a review of court records and official testimony.
Jose Ramon Hernandez Reyes, 38, has been convicted of smuggling migrants and illegally reentering the United States after having been deported. He also pleaded guilty to “deadly conduct” in the Texas incident, and is now the government’s star witness in its case against Abrego.
The government illegally deported Abrego to a notorious megaprison in El Salvador in March, and stonewalled for weeks after the Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to facilitate his return to the United States. Officials flew the Maryland resident back into the country this month, but only after a grand jury had indicted him on charges of migrant smuggling, in part because of Hernandez’s testimony.
...
“It’s wild to me,” said Lisa Sherman Luna, executive director of the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition. “It’s just further evidence of how the government is using Kilmar’s case to further their propaganda and prove their political point.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/ar-AA1HBJE5

AmazonTopaz: Cococandy and Ijebos, also happney65, feedthenation, nateevs and other sane people I didn't block.
I follow the U.S. Supreme Court and American law and I just remembered that this Supreme Court allowed an illegal law called SB8 the Texas Abortion bounty hunter law remain in effect when Roe v. Wade was still the law of the Land and wasn't overturned as at then.
SB8 was illegal because Roe v Wade was still the law of the Land as at 2021. I listened to the oral arguments and followed up that case as I usually do. These partisan hacks called Justices allowed that illegal law take effect directly contravening Roe because they intended to dismantle Roe. The Court is doing the same thing with birthright citizenship that case was a precedent for what's happening. The way they ruled in this universal Injunction suit on procedural grounds without tackling the question on birthright citizenship was exactly what they did in SB8. They allowed an illegal law remain in effect so if you think they will not allow an illegal executive order think again.
Some naive folks might argue that, Roe is different abortion isn't in the constitution, but citizenship is, lol. It seems you are not familiar with their argument. They didn't say birthright citizenship isn't in the constitution they are telling you that it only applied to children of the enslaved back then. If you don't want to be enslaved no citizenship for you today. and I am very sure that this ludicrous legal argument has 5 votes on the Supreme Court. The coming months are going to be insane.
The fact that they didn't toss out that executive order completely tells me all that I need to know on where this is going. Right, I also think they are angling to get rid of it. This Supreme Court sees themselves as the de facto legislature. Making news laws by gutting and upending century old understandings of the law. |

AmazonTopaz: You don't implement socialists policies in capitalist New York. His policies are beautiful in theory, that is if they even are and ugly and problematic in practice. There is no successful socialists country in the world.
The Far-left of the party is why Orange won in 2016. They are saboteurs and not team players. They are the reason why Palestine today is nothing but finished because they didn't have the political sense to support the one candidate who would have at least acknowledged the humanity of the Palestinian people. They are lunatics because they don't have political instincts and their policies are horrible in practicality. Also, when Biden forgave student laws and passed progressive legislation what did they do? They insulted him and critiqued him over Gaza and never for once appreciated that policy.
They are part of the reason why Orange was re-elected because dumb Americans think that those lunatics are the face of the party.
For the sake of the prosperity of New York, I hope he loses in the general election. I don't mind that corrupt Adams in power but a socialist would ruin New York. Also, when Republicans come for denaturalization we must thank the Pro-Palestine leftists for the part they played in getting Americans there.
Good for them all. New York is very unique in its unaffordableness. New things/ideas may not be a bad idea. But something like rent stabilization isn't a new NY thing anyhow. I don't see New York ever failing as an Economic Powerhouse. I don't know enough about the election. But spoke to two friends last week about the election, one runs a Fund the other a partner in a big wall st. bank. Both would get hurt if he raises taxes, but both voted for him. Below are the historical tax rates. There was a time taxes were higher on the higher earners and the US was still successful.

cococandy: What I want to know is if these immigrant morons on this page supporting them are happy about it.
If someone like beneruca (BIG IF) lives in the united states, he’s previously stated he can’t vote in American elections because he’s either ’s not a citizen or more sensibly does not live in America.
If he does, any kids he manages to sire in America will not have American citizenship depending on their state of residence.
So I would like know what exactly is exciting to them about this current administration-if everything the administration has been doing does or will impact them in some way.
The stupidity is thick with those ones. Ndi iberibe The key that Bemeruca doesn't live in the US is that he supports all this. Trump is pausing immigration hearings for citizenships and green cards alike. He's also trying to pause visas for more countries. All non citizen immigrants are probably freaking out at this point, if they have any sense. These are just people catching cruz and trolling for fun (can tell you the quality of their lives) because it won't touch them. Some because they are already US citizens and want to burn the ladder they used and some who were never able to step foot in the US and so want others not to as well. |

bayelsaowei: then it's as easy as folks traveling to states that are in support of birth right citizenship to give birth to their kids so that they become citizens.
Its the reason why the SCs ruling doesn't make any sense. They should have just tossed DJTs executive order in the bin. Makes no sense. I think they are pushing an extreme form of state rights where fundamental rights are state/circuit dependent. I boggles the mind to think that one Federal judge can rule something unconstitutional and leave it in place for others outside that state/circuit. I understand there may be bad actors using the universal injunctions, but that could be easily remedied by the Supreme court taking the cases quicker. And who gets injured? I get the feeling that this Supreme Court doesn't rate people and doesn't seem to care about the costs nor the harms they may have to endure until illegal executive orders are argued. Just disappointed in where the US is going. Congress can easily fix this by rewriting the rules of the court system. But the way it is now, Republicans holding power, it is also broken. We are getting much closer to an Imperial presidency. |

AmazonTopaz: I am ashamed of the U.S. Supreme Court. Words cannot explain how much I loathe these Conservative Justices.
Did I not tell you people that they would end birthright citizenship? This is just the first step.
@cococandy, ijebos, happney65, nateevs. What's interesting is that they didn't actually rule on the Birthright citizenship. What they did is decide that laws are legal or illegal based on the state of who brings the suit. I understand that nation-wide injunctions have some inherent flaws, but the alternative is a piecemeal way of stopping an Executive branch that decides to push an illegal action. So, legality of a Federal action depend on what state you live in. It's silly. Say that a Fed. Judge in a Massachusetts district puts an injunction on the Birthright citizenship and another in a Texas district does not. That means children born in Massachusetts would be citizens and children born in Texas would not be? Welcome to the Disparate States of America. |

There is a penalty for flouting laws The US is not the only country with a significant immigrant population Canada Australia, New Zealand UAE all have a significant immigrant population and they still have laws You know you are gatekeeping for a country you probably just got citizenship to in the last decade. I agree that people who get caught here without documentation should leave. But this isn't what this is about. feedthenation: https://edition.cnn.com/2025/06/26/politics/us-iran-talks-nuclear-program?cid=ios_app Smh. Looks like Trump will be giving them an even bigger pile of cash. Because what else do you think they mean by "negotiations"? If a country decides to give up something they see as their right, they have to be getting something in return. And the US decides that giving up the cost is cheaper than a prolonged war or instability in the oil markets and thus the economy. It's like someone saying they will give up 40 hours a week and work for someone for free . When any country does something the US wants it's mostly because they got a pile of cash or some other "favor". The problem is the lack of critical thinking on the right, coupled with News Media like Fox News that goes out of their way not to go in depth on things and in fact lie about it. |

Probably one of the most unAmerican evil things I've read. That the US didn't grant him citizenship is disgusting. I don't want to believe that the fact that the was black played a role, but eh... The article is kinda poor but this is the gist. https://hackinglawpractice.com/man-born-on-military-base-not-a-us-citizen-can-be-deported/Ten years ago, Jermaine Thomas was at the center of a case brought before the U.S. Supreme Court: Should a baby born to a U.S. citizen father deployed to a U.S. Army base in Germany have U.S. citizenship?
Last week, Thomas was escorted onto a plane with his wrists and ankles shackled, he says. He arrived in Jamaica, a country he’d never been to, a stateless man.
“I’m looking out the window on the plane,” Thomas told the Chronicle, “and I’m hoping the plane crashes and I die.”
Thomas has no citizenship, according to court documents. He is not a citizen of Germany (where he was born in 1986) or of the United States (where his father served in the military for nearly two decades) or of his father’s birth country of Jamaica (a place he’d never been). https://www.austinchronicle.com/daily/news/2025-06-04/texas-man-born-to-u-s-soldier-on-u-s-army-base-abroad-deported/

You don't question why she married a man not keen on travelling if she loved to do so.

It tells me the OP and his cronies are not within the tax bracket to understand the woman.
To the woman, marriage is toooo long a time to patch or hide legitimate desires.
If you loved to travel and have been to 7 countries, I expect that a fellow traveller would be on tbe top of your list.

I'm sure this is a contrary take. This is both their fault. People don't change because they get married. If she liked to travel before they got married the husband should have known that and planned for that when they got married. And if she knew her husband wasn't the type to travel she shouldn't have married him. Kids are expensive and complicate everything and that should have been discussed as well. My g/f loves to travel. She was doing it before she met me. So, I make sure we do trips, though I'm sure less than she wants. The desire to travel doesn't make one ashawo (my g/f makes her own money) or a street person, and can also be a sign of an inquisitive mind (she speaks 4 languages). The last trip we spent an afternoon at a historic town and an hour in a historic Catholic shrine, looking at the art on the walls and listening to its history as she took notes on her phone . Just giving a contrary take. But this could also be her saying she regrets that she married a poor man. |

They must not come and jump all over each others mentions here with long diatribes like some Felicia when they are both in the same conversation space there
The Nateevs I'm discussing with here na my padi on NL for 18 years. We are discussing politics today, we will drink beer and discuss football tomorrow, we call each other unprintable names like ninny, shekpe keeper, Felicia and laugh it off. I don't know why your guy is jumping on my conversation with Nateevs with his neurotic streams of consciousness like some Felicia.
I have always stated that my political views are shaped by two things only - my pocket and my security. The very reason I hate Trump is cos he demonises minorities and that threatens my security as a black man plus he lies constantly and threatens our democratic security which is based on accepted truths. That very reason of taking security seriously is why I would never cap for the world's greatest sponsor of terror in Iran who also harbour Al Quaeda, the very group that has attacked America and UK. That is no reason for a Felicia to be jumping all over my mentions with long diatribes or calling me a MAGAt.
There is a reason some of us never jumped in his fights with MAGAs on this section, that's cos we can spot a gøøfy from a mile away. He should keep me out of expectations of far left group think, which is also the same as far right group think. I can never support terrorists in the name of looking cool. You won't even know that I support a Palestinian State and freedom for their people, he just keeps making assumptions and putting me in a box with enemies of his groupthink cos I refuse to join him in supporting terrorists. This post is a rambling incoherent mess. Your argument seems to be, that you were having a personal conversation on a public forum(not sure you really understand what a forum is and also that there are other means to have a discussion just between two people) and I interjected in a long (to you) post to correct your misinformation. And because I interjected in a long(to you) post, you wrote an even longer(long to everyone), largely rambling post to call me a Female in pejorative way for writing a long(to you) post. 🤔 And you also go on to argue that though you call other people Felicia in a pejorative way, they get over it so it's not really misogyny (implied). 🤔 And the mess of a post continues to argue that people aren't scared to talk about Israel/Iran here because people like you will call them terrorist lovers, by arguing that Raum and Android17 talk about the US involvement in this Middle East war in the Sports section and should keep it there and not post long messages about it in the thread designed for that topic (again, not sure you understand how forums work). 🤔 But then what do you do to prove your point? You call me a terrorist lover for not agreeing with your position. Kinda undermines your point. No? Did I get the gist of this rambling incoherent mess? |
