Yup. Listened to it on background most of the morning. Wasn't as open and close as I would have liked. They sound like they may reject his absolute immunity claim, but they may send it back to the lower court to go through which acts they believe he can't be prosecuted for base on protected official acts, which will give him the opportunity to appeal back to the Supreme Court. Which will take more time. If they do that, count it as a win for him as the trial won't start till after the election. The Right Wing of this court is nutz.

I generally don't get my history lessons from sportscasters. He especially lost me with his comments on Black people supporting Trump because he's been indicted. The US does have a 2 tier system of justice. But it's wealthy white people and poor minorities. Just look at the jail sentences by race for comparable crimes. Comparing Trump's travails to black people's is the height of ignorance.

But I listened to parts of it because I was curious as to what he shucking and jiving about. Anyone who doesn't understand that political realignment happened and the Racist Southern Whites moved from the Democratic party to the Republican party is an idiot and ignorant of History. I wasn't sure comparing slavery migration to abortion migration was apt. But the more I thought about it, it is. Just like slavery migration, abortion migration isn't easy if at all possible. A lot of slaves died during slavery and trying to migrate to states that were free, a lot of women will die (and have died) with preventable/treatable pregnancy issues and will die in transit to states that do allow abortion.

But, sometimes I think you talk of race/slavery issues in a very facile way.

You can't continue to justify enslaving some unless you decide that "ourselves" excludes some.

We are a Federal Republic and thus there are certain powers abrogated to the federal government and others left to the states. Fundamental rights shouldn't be left to the states or be able to be given or taken away on the whims of 9 people. Before this ruling was Roe v. Wade which did define abortion as a fundamental right under the right to Privacy enshrined in the 14th amendment.

The 3/5 compromise in fact enshrined slavery in the constitution. The obvious difference was the civil war. My point is even the framers got it wrong for ideological reasons as did this supreme court.

1.) Have you been to the UK?
2.) Have you ridden a train in the UK or anywhere?
3.) If you look at the message that is US time. Add 5 hours and it will give you UK time. The text exchange happened between 10am -12:30 pm. Left my hotel around that time, which is generally checkout.
4.) I woke up, walked her to the train platform near the hotel. We left the hotel probably at 7-8am(based on the text message) as she had an early meeting. I originally took the train to the hotel from the Heathrow.
5.) I go back to my hotel, slept some, got breakfast, showered, packed and checked out. It is now around noon.
6.)The train attendant I assume works at least an 8 hour shift. He was stationed in the station/at the platform, not sure what his duties were. So, most likely would have been on duty between 7 and 12:30pm.
