maestro09: Good day everyone.
Having gone through this thread, I seem to notice that applicants with siblings in Canada do get rejected.
For me, my sister is a citizen of Canada. She’s going to be my main sponsor while my brother in the UK will be my second sponsor.
For ties back in Nigeria, I have my parent and two other siblings in Nigeria, my parents and my brothers have landed properties in Nigeria. I can get a letter of study leave from my company where I’ve been working for almost 3 years now.
Please do I run a risk of being rejected due to family ties in Canada and Nigeria? I have a sibling who is Canadian citizen and I got approved. I don’t really know what they take into consideration when denying pple who have family ties abroad. I’ll advise you give it a shot, you may be approved as well. Best of luck |

Muslimity: Thanks Ikechuqu,
Registration for the first semester will start by Sept 2021 but they said the first semester tuition fees must be paid by 04th Jan 2021. I wish to pay a part of the fee now before Jan 2021 and pay the balance before the Sept 2021. Is this possible?
Are you confirming that they accept this type of part payment? Please shed more light on this and on how you went about the part payment in your own case.
Thanks What I mean is that you can in parts but have to complete the total amount for the tuition payment by the Jan 4th deadline. I’ve attached a screenshot of the reply I got when I had a similar situation.

Muslimity: Bros and other Gurus,
I secured a Fall 2021 admission at Algonquin College for my son, and the school said in the acceptance letter that we should pay 9,500 CAD for first semester tuition fees before 4th Jan 2021. Though I have the money but I dont want to pay all of that amount now as another unexpected expenditure makes that impossible in the immediate.
I have sent an email to the school asking about possibility of paying half of that money as tuition deposit but no reply yet from the college.
Can someone here who has gone through Algonquin college please enlighten me on whether the college has tuition deposit service and allows prospective international student to pay tuition deposit or not?
Thank you as I await your kind response. Hi, I applied to Algonquin as well. I had a similar situation when I applied first time in 2018 where I could not pay the first semester fees an had to forfeit the admission. You can pay part but have to complete the payment before the deadline or the admission will be forfeited. I’ll advise you to make the payment if you can otherwise move the admission to winter 2022 and hopefully they’ll give a longer deadline. Best of luck |

JustMellow: Hello Ikechuqu,
VFS are only a conduit in which IRCC receives your PP, they don't keep your PP. You just have to be patient. The PP everybody is tensed about will surely be returned.
VFS can only give updates on PP status if they have it. You have stayed tensed throughout the application processsing period, maybe you should try to keep calm at this final stage.
All the best Thanks so much! Alas after multiple mails and calls, I’ve gotten a tracking ID. Honestly, it’s the silence that was deafening. I’ll stay calm from here on |

Dampops: For those that recently submitted passports to VFS Lagos and haven’t received any notification from them ...did you include your biometric slip in the package you sent to them? Not BVL o...the slip you got when you did your biometric...
If you didn’t, it’s either you pay the N7,430 biometric transmission fee (and scan the evidence to them via email) or you scan and send the biometric slip to them via email..
Hope this helps...
Heard they won’t work on your passport and will try to contact you...(which they may not do promptly) I’m pretty sure I have all of the requested docs sent to them... I even asked if I can get my passport back from them if they’ve not processed till now, got the same “we’ll get back to you sir” |

Meanwhile, is it possible to get ones passport back from VFS Lagos if it’s not been processed to IRCC? So I can send it to a different location. Since they’ve refused to give me any information whatsoever as regarding what’s happening with my passport.... This is day 10, no tracking ID, no feedback, nothing! |

I would advise you send an email to the following email addresses with your full name as it written on your international passport and the date DHL confirmed it was delivered to them. You can also attach DHL acknowledgement slip + a screenshot of DHL confirmation of delivery.

Hello everyone,
I’ve been following this thread for a bit.
I had PPR last week Tuesday and sent my passport to VFS lagos on Thursday which got delivered on Friday but till now, I don’t know if it’s been processed or not. I’ve called almost everyday of the week and they keep saying they’ll send my tracking number by “end of day”. Honestly, it’s just annoying how they operate in Lagos. |
