Papapa1234:
Hello All,
This are the most random question ever grin
Excuse my curiosity.
1)Once given visa, can one travel outside of Canada during the course of study? Like visiting home?
2)For someone that have no family? Can we rent an apartment then add to our application?
B) Do you get to Canada before you scout for accommodation?
Thank you

(1) oh yes you can travel.

Most international students in Ontario and Quebec travel to USA a whole lot during spring and summer breaks.

And yes, you can travel home (Nigeria) during studies. Just make sure you travel during authorized school breaks, you have no immigration and school issues and you have enough funds that will sufficiently cover that trip.

If you ever need to travel when school is in session (not a school authorized break) please get a letter from your dean or coordinator to that effect.

(2) If it is going to be an on campus (school owned) kind of accommodation, yes you can pay and attach to your application if you want to.

However, if it is an off campus accommodation, don’t pay for anything until you get to Canada.
Scammers plenty for Canada too o, no lose guard. See what you are paying for with your eyes.

P.s Having an accommodation before arrival is not a visa requirement.

I know someone that got such and got it stamped the next day. I doubt they sent them to the embassy just today. It must have been there since last week. Hoping to get the email today too

Can one do medical exams after submitting application I.e while waiting for letter from IRCC, since its delaying, or it has to be upfront before submitting the application?

My course is a 2yr course. I was scared cos a reputable immigration consultant told me that she personally knows 2 people who were turned back at POE for having a 1 way ticket. Her words:
[20:02, 22/11/2020] .......: I usually don't advise this oo honestly
[20:03, 22/11/2020] .......: I know 2 people who have been turned back at the point of entry for this reason

Hello Eilenora,

Book for a one-way ticket only.

All the best

@Justmellow, @Frankrobbn1
Thank you so much for your selfless service and your great answers.
Please I need further advice:
1.Based on the note sent to me, any further action on my application would be put on hold till 17th of December which is almost one month time after which it will be assumed I want normal processing. Considering the fact that I am supposed to resume in Jan 2021,:
1. Should I request for a deferment from my school till September 2021 so as not to jeopardize my approval chance because of the high proximity of resumption time or is there anything else I can do?
2.If number 1 above is the right route,( i.e deferment) how do I communicate my intention to the visa office?

Hello Seyiki,

Don't defer yet. If I was in your shoe, I would have sent IRCC a webform or email notifying them of having no interest in NSE and advise them to proceed traditionally. You'd be surprise how your words could move a mountain. Even if it does work, at least you made at attempt and if it works, you may become the first Nigerian applicant to take the glory. In all, there is no harm trying.

All the best

Good day. Please I want to start my Visa process. What are the things needed. Also for the bank statement, can the one sent to mail used or the sponsor needs to go to the bank and get a different one?

Is Ielts needed for visa application?
For the Normal Study Visa Application (not NSE), you don't need IELTS

It's only when u wanna file for Permanent Residency (PR) that it is mandatory for u to do IELTS

I want to ask a subjective question
With the way the Oil and Gas Indistry is right now in the world, and Canada’s own battles with its oil and gas industry

Do you guys think it’s a good time to go study for an Oil and Gas related degree in Canada ?

I would appreciate your opinions, thank you.
