Nigerian users of Peugeot 508, 3008, RCZ, 207, 308, 301, etc, do experience Turbocharger failure, cracked pistons or engine failure because of unavailability or lack of access to recommended Engine Oils for the EP6 & VTi engines in these PSA vehicles. I have diagnosed quite a number of these Lions with failed Turbochargers as a result of wrong engine oil grades introduced in the engines. Majority (about 99.8 %) of New Peugeot vehicle users in Nigeria that I have met, meet on daily basis or interact with, do not know engine oil grade recommended for their engines, especially PSA Vehicles produced from 2010 till date, both Petrol and Diesel engines. They buy engine oils taken out from big drums with no oil specifications on the drums or the 4-liter Oil container they buy, they claimed. Days or weeks after introducing those oils in their engines, their Turbo Chargers would fail, same with their Catalytic Converters failure, oil burn issues and other symptoms of failing engines. I wonder how one can purchase a vehicle that cost 5 – 20 million naira and be buying or using unbranded or unknown engine Oil grade or specifications to service the vehicle’s engine and expect nothing bad to happen to the engine? After observing all that, I was inspired to provide solution to the problem by making the recommended Engine Oils for these Lions available in Nigeria and to educate users of these Lions in Nigeria the recommended Engine Oil grades and duration of oil change for their Lions. Last Saturday, 27/01/2018, a man brought his Peugeot 407 V6 to me for diagnosis (the lion could barely move). According to the man, his nightmare started a day he took his lion to a workshop to fix some misfiring issues. From that very day, the lion has been driven/towed to many mechanic workshops in Abuja, trying to figure out why a particular cylinder (cylinder 3) refused to work (even though they told him it was cylinder 1. At a point, they told him the solution was to replace the engine. He bought a tokunbo/foreign used engine, only for the same issue to continue after replacing the engine. Unfortunately, the he sold the old engine as scrapped before they completed mounting the one he bought, because he thought the engine was dead. Some electricians came and started troubleshooting the electricals since they have ruled out the mechanical as the cause (at that high cost), only for the BSM to fail, because one of them did a wrong connection that blew up the BSM. At that point, the part seller that he buys parts from now struggle advised him to replace nothing again on the lion until he finds me. He did and I found two terrible wrong connections on the engine wiring harness that blew up the BSM and refused the cylinder 3 from working. A stupid mechanic bypassed cylinder 3 wiring connections and foolishly connected it to VVT solenoid wiring connections, probably in trying to solve a misfiring issue that had nothing to do with the wires. And because of that the owner spent 140k in replacing an engine that was still good for some stupid wiring connections. In the process of changing the engine, they damaged the gearbox mount which he bought 33k to buy (wasted 173k). They suggested to him to replace the engine ECU which was what he went to purchase and the part seller asked me to take the lion to me before he makes another mistake like he did with engine replacement. I called him last night, 02/02/2018, and told him his lion now roars like design, and I didn’t replace a damn thing. Guys, stop putting yourself in a position where someone puts you in misery. You don’t need to be a Peugeot expert to own a lion. I always tell my customers to go get their scan tools no matter how generic it is. I want Lion owners to be independent of me as quickly as they can with lion diagnosis. Non-abused lion doesn’t necessary need an expert to diagnose to know the culprit(s). You could drive a lion for months without seeing any warning on your instrument panel or MFD. I am a living proof of that. If you don’t want to have a scan tool or diagnose your lion yourself, then be ready to be taking your to an expert or dealerships even it cost you more. These Lions are driven by people outside Nigeria for years before they imported into Nigeria and they still look and drive like almost new, yet the previous owners were not expert or technical with cars. Utilize Ikenna351 Knowledge to Acquire A brand New & Non-Abused Used Peugeot Vehicles –Lion King. Few days ago, a man called me and said he recently bought a used Peugeot 407 and the car has been giving him nightmares. One of the symptoms he mentioned was excessive high fuel consumptions. He eventually brought the lion to me to diagnose, after taking the lion to several other mechanics that couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the car and spending almost half of what he bought the lion already at those workshops. Immediately I opened the engine bay, I saw the major cause of the high fuel consumption by mere looking at the Engine, Transmission & VIN. I closed the bonnet and told him to go and change the transmission to manual gearbox, change the intake manifold, MTB, Engine ECU kit and Engine wiring harness or Swap back in the engine meant for the Vehicle, before I could do further diagnosis or touch the lion again. He left, feeling devastated, from what I could tell. None of the mechanics he took the lions to after purchase could figure out the issues with the lion because of lack of understanding of Peugeot vehicle systems, probably. The Lion was already abused out of specifications or factory design. Originally, the engine bay had EW12J4 engine with automatic transmission. But someone removed the EW12J4 engine and installed EW7J4 engine instead. Stupidly, they bolted Automated Transmission to it (probably the HP20 EW12J4 Automatic transmission) instead of Manual transmission. They also used the EW12J4 Engine ECU to run EW7J4 they swapped in, including the intake Manifold & Motorised Throttle Body. No Peugeot 407 was produced with Automatic transmission bolted to EW7J4 engine, because the engine power is too low to pull a Peugeot 407 with Automatic transmission. So the fuel consumption became excessively high after the conversion, which was probably the reason the previous owner sold the lion to the current owner. And to revert the Lion to factory Engine or swap in the EW7J4 manual gearbox, intake Manifold, MTB, engine wiring harness & Engine ECU kit, both options will cost him about N200, 000 or more, whichever option he chooses to go for, before you address other issues with the Lion. He probably going to spend more than he bought the Lion on repairs for the nightmares to stop, hopefully. You can choose the service I am offering to anyone interested to avoid attracting such nightmares to yourself. A lot of people have brought Lions to me for diagnosis, only to be informed their newly acquired Lions were running with wrong or tampered Engine ECUs and BSI units, which make these Lions undrivable or with horrible issues. iyaegin:Below is the interpretation (even though the first fault on Engine ECU is not clear): 1. Your engine cooling fan factory connection has been bypassed and abused. The more you leave it in that state, the more it damages the BSM and Engine, that is, if the BSM has not been damaged already. Your BSM (New one) cost about N45,000 here in Abuja). And its possible the engine doesn't have thermostat, since they bypassed the fan. I sell original thermostat for your engine, contact me off the forum, if you are interested. Also, check if the current fan is 407 fan. Most times, they abuse the cooling system by swapping in 307 fan because its cheaper, but then the 307 fan connections wont work with 407 engine ECU & its connection to the fan. If that is the case, you will have to buy complete EW12J4 fan with the wiring harness. Used one cost about N20,000. If your engine is shorting engine oil frequently already, then the abuse on the cooling system has killed the engine. You will be running on borrowed time before engine packs up. 2. Your MTB (Motorised Throttle Body) has failed. I would recommend original brand new one. 3. Replace your Engine Speed Sensor, otherwise known as RPM sensor. It's mounted on the Bellhousing. If you don't and it fails permanently, the lion would no longer start until its replaced. However, confirm that the socket on the sensor or its connections are intact. 4. Check the connection to the knock sensor behind intake manifold. if connection is ok, replace the knock sensor. 5. Your timing is off a little. You need to reset it. Use the opportunity and change both the timing belt and auxiliary belt, including the rollers and tensioners. I sell the original belts. Contact me if you are interested. 6. Type out the highlighted first fault in Engine ECU you uploaded. I cant see both the error code and definition. You bought an abused Lion. NanaF:While I don't know Nissan Electrical systems, I do know what you said about fuel pump failure relating to fuel sender and fuel leak sounds more amusing than what you are accusing Autologic for. Before you cast stone at someone, check yourself if you are sure you don't deserve same stone you are about to throw. Low fuel pressure can throw a lot of error codes in Lions. Faulty oxygen sensor error code may be unlikely in this case, but doesn't mean its impossible. At least, it wont be the only code. If truly the Nissan vehicle in question ought to have 50 psi fuel pressure while engine is running, then something was wrong with your fuel delivery which could be weak fuel pump, faulty Fuel pump assembly, partially blocked fuel filter or damaged fuel line. So, yes, something was wrong with the fuel supply. Stop acting like it wasn't, unless 40psi is vehicle factory fuel delivery psi. Whether it was the fuel pump or other fuel delivery components was the culprit(s) is not what I am here to discuss. Oxygen sensor might still be faulty or something is making it appear faulty, but what you are doing here reminds me why I am who I am. A lot of Nigerians love abusing their vehicles and later on look for who or what to pass blames to. A lot of Nigerians prefer to buy abused vehicles because they are cheap, with intention to look for someone to fix the abuse at cheap price. And when they don't get it, they resort to blames to the vehicle brand, mechanics, electricians or imaginary witches in their villages.
