The Barca fans on this thread its ok. If Mr Lord is airing his opinion you can either simply air yours or ignore him. Everything must not be insult. And to remind you guys, when Messi wasn't in the top 5 last year so many of us were calling FIFA frauds and scam and then some went on to list out all of Messi's achievements last year, like goals, assists, dribbles, chances created, goal per game ratio and other stuff. How he even outperformed Salah and on and on and on. . Some fans were scared that Messi won't win that of this year, considering we didn't win UCL, and Messi's Copa America didn't end the way we wanted. Heck after Van Dijk won UEFA best player some fans just gave up on Messi to win anything cos following precedence of last season, Modric won UEFA best then won FIFA best then won Ballon D Or. . Now Messi has won we should relax, last year Messi didn't win it but he was the best player for me in Europe, without sentiment. In 2017, Ronaldo won it, Messi didn't do enough to win it cos Ronaldo won the Champions league and so on and so forth. Messi has won it so we should relax and enjoy it. And stop making unnecessary insults. Because if posts are dug up so many of you will still try explaining what doesn't need explanation |

tesppidd: Football is really really a game for attackers and midfielders (especially attackers).
For defenders, how does one accurately actually measure their individual performances?
Van Dijk was a rock! Van Dijk was a rock!! But how do we rate his individual performances across the season?
Were his performances equivalent to a 30-goal season for an attacker? Were his performances equivalent to a 50-goal season for an attacker? Were his performances equivalent to a 70-goal season for an attacker?
How do we extrapolate?
Defenders just need to come to terms with reality; Football is an attacker's game, all about goals!
In 2018, I never thought that Messi deserved the awards; my pick was always Griezman, even ahead of Modric.
For last night, VDK was great for Liverpool all season. But there is one player who excelled above VDK in that Liverool team, and his name is Sadio Mane. But VDK had the media and the crusaders for defenders solidly blowing his trumpet.
For Mane; If only he was white and his name was SadioSergio Manelinho and he had all that Liverpool /British campaign machinery behind him!!
But one thing is for sure, Ronaldo had no business being in the top 3.
1. Sadio Mane. 2. Messi/VDK. 4. Bernado Silva. 5. Ronaldo. 6. De Jong/De Ligt. My main problem is how on earth did Modric enter FIFpro 11? |

Our midfield today comprises of Rakitic, Roberto and De Jong, unfortunately Suarez is starting... I think it's a good thing that Busquets is starting lesser and lesser games. Also our forwards are Griezman, C. Perez and Suarez. I hope Griezman scores today . . Coutinho delivered a man of the match display for Bayern Munich and also scored his first goal today. He played as Cam too... Well Barca doesn't work with that sha but I pray he enjoys his loan and emerges as one of Bundesliga's best players |

Neimarjnr: will yu kip kwayet? barca played rubbish I no drag am but the whole attack was poor Griezman tried in shielding Semedo when Alba got injured and so it affected his attack. Suarez should just be starting from bench. Fati did quite well and Arthur is getting better and better. But the biggest blunder yesterday was, how on earth did we have a fit lb but he wasn't on the bench? For that one I blame Valverde. And Suarez is the most unreliable thing since Nepa... Jeez. After his man of the match display during the weekend yesterday he just came and showed us why we bought Griezman and needed Neymar again. That guy is so so unreliable |

TLona1: Yes there's a difference between losing and bottling.
Man City's exit in the UCL is an example of the former. They lost but with pride. Not winning 3-0 in the first leg and losing 4-0 in the second leg.
In Afrodoc's voice "it is a disgrace" Lol my brother all losers are equal, whether you lost cos of VAR, or you lost cos of away goals or you lost cos you played a more superior team or you lost cos you just played rubbish, you are all equal |

TLona1: Bro, missed chances isn't an excuse that we lost 4-0 It is o, we needed just one goal to qualify. Just one goal and Messi and co joyfully made Allisson among Liverpool's best players. One goal and Van Dijk shouldn't have won this European best he won last month. One goal and I am sure we would have won that Copa Del Rey final. One goal and we won't even be having this conversation. One goal and that rubbish transfer saga over Neymar won't have started in the first place. One goal was all we needed... But we couldn't get it |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by IKON360(m): 10:15am On Sep 17, 2019 |
spillo1: Valverde wanted to trade punches. He knew he would concede chances, but he would also create chances, the same exact game as the first leg. On the first leg, he won every single coin toss, Liverpool missed all their chances, and Barcelona scored theirs, mainly because Messi played at his best. However, on the second leg, football being football, the complete opposite happened. He lost every coin toss. He thought it would end up 1-1, 2-2, 2-1, 1-2 or something like that, both teams hurting each other, and it actually makes sense, thats what it should have happened, except, again, this time he was the one who lost every coin toss.
I dont blame him for that loss, but i do believe that he drifted away too much from Barcelona's philosophy. Controlling the game its something that Barcelona needs like water but yet again how many teams can do that at Anfield. Even Man city with better midfielders than us can't control proceedings at Anfield. It disappoints me that we lost at Anfield but I won't blame only the coach. Our players missed chances, Suarez will rather pass to Messi than shoot Cout disappeared as usual, Alba played his worst match all season. It was a sad day but its not entirely the coach's fault |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by IKON360(m): 10:10am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:

Bro, there's a clear difference between LOSING and BOTTLING. The former is a normal phenomenon is football as we all understand but the latter is what every club would hate to experience.
In the brief history you narrated above, there was no case of Barca bottling a huge lead to a club she's superior than.
The reason why most of us are no longer in support of Valverde is because of the way he has turned Barca to a joke especially in the UCL. With the way things are now, even Mamelodi Sundonws can do a comeback against Barca.
How will a big club like Barca, bottle a 4-1 and 3-0 lead in two consecutive seasons? That's totally unacceptable and that's why we want Valverdo out! Bottling, losing what's the difference? If I ask you who the best coach is now, you may most likely say Guardiola or Klopp but you also know that Klopp's UCL was this year after more seasons in UCL than someone like Valverde, Guardiola last won UCL with us since then nothing. Valverde not winning UCL is bad but blaming it on his tactical ineptitude is quite wrong cos coaches with even better tactics haven't even won the same UCL |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by IKON360(m): 10:04am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1: If you really watched that match and saw Barca's approach to scoring, you'd know that the coach played a big role in the bottling.
They played with no ambition. They were also conservative and complacent coupled with zero drive to win and poor mentality. All these were the things the coach should have worked on. Yet one of Liverpool's best players was Allisson... And many people were celebrating Van Dijk for his contribution to the clean sheet so was Fabinho's work in middle also well received... We missed too many chances |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by IKON360(m): 10:02am On Sep 17, 2019 |
spillo1: Most of the goals Barca conceded were due to lack of concentration, you can't really blame Valverde for the players turning off their brains during some moments of the match. Valverde is just an easy scapegoat for you the Barca fans to blame. If Barca had scored and qualified would you have attributed it to valverde? When we won the first leg against Liverpool , those that complained, complained how the TEAM was giving up so many chances to Liverpool and how Ter Stegen was awesome. When we lost boom!!! The coach became the problem, what coach have done to stop a goal like that Origi goal that Trent Arnold assisted Origi from the corner? I just think fans just need someone to lay the blame on. If we win a match this thread rarely moves highest one page or two but when we lose, fans, FANS will be trolling their own team how?! It's really despicable |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by IKON360(m): 9:25am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1: Valverde's first season - 1st leg Barca 4 Roma 0, 2nd Leg Roma 3 Barca 0. Roma qualifies
Valverde's second season - 1st leg Barca 3 Liverpool 0, 2nd leg Liverpool 4, Barca 0. Liverpool qualifies.
If you watch and know much about football, you'd know it's the coach's approach that determines how the players will play. Before Barca signed Valverde why did these players not make these 'individual mistakes" that made the team bottle a 3-1 and 3-0 lead? I started seriously watching Barca matches in 2008, we won UCL in 2009, 2010 we didn't win Inter knocked us and the way Inter knocked us out was extremely predictable despite having Xavi, Iniesta and Dani Alves and what people consider the best team of the 21st century, we won UCL in 2011, 2012 we were defeated by Chelsea under the guidance of a jjc when it comes to coaching, Torres just used nail and ended us, and that was more annoying because I'd started noticing that weakness in our team inability to break down certain teams worst Chelsea's most important defender had a red card, 2013 we were defeated by Bayern, in fact I'd call it destruction they even flogged us at Nou Camp, 2014 we were knocked out by Athletico Madrid, 2015 we won UCL with the most fearsome trident in European football history, 2016 Juventus sent us packing, 2017 Roma and 2018 Liverpool. The reason I gave this history which may not be correct but is quite accurate is because losses are a certainty in football, we had the best midfielders yet we lost to teams we should have beaten, we had MSN at the peak of their powers and we still lost to teams we should have beaten... This team isn't as awesome as Guardiola's 2009 and 2011 teams nor as destructive as Enrique's 2015 side but fans still deem it fit to lay all the blame at the coach's door... The coach is also to blame without a doubt but losing twice in UCL in a row isn't only him to be blamed, personally I think the board is making some very poor transfer decisions |
