Health / Benefits Of Drinking Warm Lemon Water by ilelabola(m): 3:52pm On May 22, 2013
1) Aids Digestion. Lemon juice flushes out unwanted materials and toxins from the body. It’s atomic composition is similar to saliva and the hydrochloric acid of digestive juices. It encourages the liver to produce bile which is an acid that is required for digestion. Lemons are also high in minerals and vitamins and help loosen ama, or toxins, in the digestive tract. The digestive qualities of lemon juice help to relieve symptoms of indigestion, such as heartburn, belching and bloating. The American Cancer Society actually recommends offering warm lemon water to cancer sufferers to help stimulate bowel movements.

2) Cleanses Your System / is a Diuretic. Lemon juice helps flush out unwanted materials in part because lemons increase the rate of urination in the body. Therefore toxins are released at a faster rate which helps keep your urinary tract healthy. The citric acid in lemons helps maximize enzyme function, which stimulates the liver and aids in detoxification.

3) Boosts Your Immune System. Lemons are high in vitamin C, which is great for fighting colds. They’re high in potassium, which stimulates brain and nerve function. Potassium also helps control blood pressure. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) found in lemons demonstrates anti-inflammatory effects, and is used as complementary support for asthma and other respiratory symptoms plus it enhances iron absorption in the body; iron plays an important role in immune function. Lemons also contain saponins, which show antimicrobial properties that may help keep cold and flu at bay. Lemons also reduce the amount of phlegm produced by the body.

4) Balances pH Levels. Lemons are one of the most alkalizing foods for the body. Sure, they are acidic on their own, but inside our bodies they’re alkaline (the citric acid does not create acidity in the body once metabolized). Lemons contain both citric and ascorbic acid, weak acids easily metabolized from the body allowing the mineral content of lemons to help alkalize the blood. Disease states only occur when the body pH is acidic. Drinking lemon water regularly can help to remove overall acidity in the body, including uric acid in the joints, which is one of the primary causes of pain and inflammation.

5) Clears Skin. The vitamin C component as well as other antioxidants helps decrease wrinkles and blemishes and it helps to combat free radical damage. Vitamin C is vital for healthy glowing skin while its alkaline nature kills some types of bacteria known to cause acne. It can actually be applied directly to scars or age spots to help reduce their appearance. Since lemon water purges toxins from your blood, it would also be helping to keep your skin clear of blemishes from the inside out. The vitamin C contained in the lemon rejuvenates the skin from within your body.

6) Energizes You and Enhances Your Mood. The energy a human receives from food comes from the atoms and molecules in your food. A reaction occurs when the positive charged ions from food enter the digestive tract and interact with the negative charged enzymes. Lemon is one of the few foods that contain more negative charged ions, providing your body with more energy when it enters the digestive tract. The scent of lemon also has mood enhancing and energizing properties. The smell of lemon juice can brighten your mood and help clear your mind. Lemon can also help reduce anxiety and depression.

7) Promotes Healing. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C), found in abundance in lemons, promotes wound healing, and is an essential nutrient in the maintenance of healthy bones, connective tissue, and cartilage. As noted previously, vitamin C also displays anti-inflammatory properties. Combined, vitamin C is an essential nutrient in the maintenance of good health and recovery from stress and injury.

cool Freshens Breath. Besides fresher breath, lemons have been known to help relieve tooth pain and gingivitis. Be aware that citric acid can erode tooth enamel, so you should be mindful of this. No not brush your teeth just after drinking your lemon water. It is best to brush your teeth first, then drink your lemon water, or wait a significant amount of time after to brush your teeth. Additionally, you can rinse your mouth with purified water after you finish your lemon water.

9) Hydrates Your Lymph System. Warm water and lemon juice supports the immune system by hydrating and replacing fluids lost by your body. When your body is deprived of water, you can definitely feel the side effects, which include: feeling tired, sluggish, decreased immune function, constipation, lack of energy, low/high blood pressure, lack of sleep, lack of mental clarity and feeling stressed, just to name a few.

10) Aids in Weight Loss. Lemons are high in pectin fiber, which helps fight hunger cravings. Studies have shown people who maintain a more alkaline diet, do in fact lose weight faster. I personally find myself making better choices throughout the day, if I start my day off right, by making a health conscious choice to drink warm lemon water first thing every morning.

Everyone in the bank laid down quietly.

Family / 10 Things You Can Do For Your Mom by ilelabola(m): 8:35pm On May 12, 2013
10 Things You Can Do For Your Mom
Often, moms do virtually all of the giving and very little, if any, of the taking from their families. They may not say it, but most of them want to be appreciated in small ways. You don't have to buy them a car or a house (you could do that too), but it's the small things that count with mom.
Here are some ideas of how you can let mom know that all of her giving has and continues to be appreciated.
1. Give mom a vacation
Don't think Hawaii. Think of a day away fromthe kitchen. Or the home. Give her a vacationfrom the home where for her, most of the seemingly endless housework is done daily. Or, if she doesn't want that, start doing your share around the house. Maybe you could start giving her one day of the week off, when she does no cooking or household chores. Remember, fathers and husbands work hard at the office, but they get a two-day weekend in most cases. Moms usually don't even get a full day off. And if they are also working outside, it's like two full time jobs.
2. Let's hear her life story: a mom's circle
She may have read you bedtime stories when you were small, but now it's time for her to tell you a different story-about herself.Make a mom's circle at home in which you ask her to tell her life story. Mom's circle may actually turn into a project: one family member could write this up into a report, another could make a story book out of it and a third could video/audio record it. A mom's circle may become an ongoing family tradition.
3. Try beating mom's cooking
While most moms ask their kids what they want to eat, turn the tables around and do the same for her. Is there special food your mom likes? Buy or prepare that food for her (if you are not the best of cooks, maybe it's safer to just buy it).
4. Is your mom in a nursing home
If your mom is in a nursing home, why not plan to bring her home for a weekend visit to stay with you. Even better, why not make this a weekly, or twice a month set up, so you can spend more time with her and she can be around those who really love her more often? Of course the ultimate gift will be if you can liberate her from that nursing home so she can stay in her room in your own home.
5. Arrange a mammogram for her
Every three minutes, a woman in America is diagnosed with breast cancer. That woman could be your mom.
A woman's chances of developing breast cancer increases with age. The National Cancer Institute recommends women age 40and over be screened with mammography every one to two years. It also advises that women at higher risk of breast cancer get medical advice before they are 40 about when to begin screening and about the frequency of their screening. Do this for yourmom, so you can see her spend the rest of her life in good health, Insha Allah (if God wills).
6. Is your mom a bookworm?
If so, buy a small cabinet and buy all of the books you can afford. Then take it to her home and set it up for her.
7. If your mom is a non-Muslim
If your mom is a non-Muslim, try fasting for aday (Nafil or extra fasting), and keep thinking and praying for her. Ask Allah that He guides her and ask Him what you can do to help her understand her own Creator.
8. If your relationship has not been the best with your Mom
If your relationship with your mom has not been the best, sit down in front of a year-long calendar or planner and mark down dates and things which you can plan to improve this relationship. Start off by making a formal first appointment. Then pick dates on which you can keep contact with her and build your relationship on a regular basis.
9. If mom is not alive
If your mom is not alive, visit her relatives and friends and ask what you can do for them. Consider these two Hadiths (sayings ofthe Prophet Muhammad peace and blessingsbe upon him):
1. The Messenger of Allah said: When a person dies, his actions come to an end, except for three things: a continuing Sadaqa (charity), knowledge from which benefit is still being derived, and a righteous child who prays for her orhim (translated meaning from Muslim).
2. Abu Usaid Saidi said: We were once sitting with Rasulullah when aman from the tribe of Salmah came and said to him: O Messenger of Allah! do my parents have rights over me even after they have died? And Rasulullah said:
Yes. You must pray to Allah to blessthem with His Forgiveness and Mercy, fulfill the promises they made to anyone, and respect their relations and their friends (Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah).
10. Pick up her feet and spread the word
The Prophet Muhammad said: Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother (Ahmad, Nasai). Ask your mom to lift her feet, so you can locate where Jannah is. Then tell others about your discovery by sharing what Islam has to say about moms and their importancein our lives. Fb.com/basicknowledgeandwisdom

Family / Advice For Couples by ilelabola(m): 9:14pm On May 10, 2013
Advice for Couples:
Making a schedule and establishing rituals
Making a schedule may seem like an end to spontaneity but it's not.
This allows you to establish your own lifestyle and rituals as a couple. It's especially important if both the husband and wife are going to school and/or working. In this scenario, a schedule helps in setting time aside for each other during a fast-paced week of work and studies.
Some rituals couples can establish may include:
◾praying at least one prayer together
◾attending a study circle together once a week
◾deciding on a weekly menu
◾having a pancake breakfast every Saturday morning
◾setting aside one day on which no work or studying will be done
◾setting a day when both the husband and wife will clean up the house
◾setting a time to discuss finances and a budget
◾making a phone contacting during the day
◾deciding on a particular day and time once a month at least to visit each other's parents
By discussing and setting up these rituals, couples learn how to talk to and feel responsible for each other. They also learn to become a team instead of two people living in the same with separate lives.********* fb,com/basicknowledgeandwisdom

HOW TO AVOID HEART BREAK IN
RELATIONSHIPS.
1. Not all relationships must lead to
marriage. Some relationships are for a
reason, others are for a season only few
are for a life time. If it doesn't work out
don't kill yourself because it was for
something. Discover the purpose and
move on.
2. Don't give a man or a woman the
totality of your heart before giving the
totality of your heart to God. Love that
person but put God first.
3. Don't get carried away with beauty or
money, if that person's inner person
cannot keep you, his money or her beauty
cannot either.
4. Love is never enough, understanding,
compatibility, wisdom, patience and
tolerance are equally important.
5. When the negative signs are morethan
the positive signs. It is better to withdraw
your heart before it gets 'broken'.
6. Extreme jealousy is the quickest way to
break that relationship.
7. Don't demand trust, earn it or build it or
show it.
8. Never you compare him or her to
someone else.
9. Your relationship should not only be
marriage driven but care, love and concern
driven.
10. Don't marry him or her because you
saw him or her in church. Many are in
church but not in touch with God.
11. If God give you the woman or man of
your dreams you may dreaming the
remaining days of your life. God will only

Healthy Tomato-Hearty Tomato~
A TOMATO is red and usually has fourchambers, just like
our heart. Tomatoes are also a great source of lycopene, a
plant chemical that reduces the risk of heart disease and
several cancers.
The Women’s Health Study – an
American research
programmed which tracks the health of 40,000 women
– found women with the highest blood levels of lycopene had 30 per cent
less heart disease than women who had very little lycopene.
Lab experiments have also shown that lycopene helps
counter the effect of
unhealthy LDL cholesterol.
One Canadian study,
published in the journal Experimental Biology and Medicine, said there was convincing evidence that
lycopene prevented coronary heart disease fb.com/basicknowledgeandwisdom

Imagine that I almost got stranded in Lagos some weeks ago when I had dispense errors twice on my two different ATM cards the same time the same and I'm sure that lots of people must have faced hell that day. Fb.com/basicknowledgeandwisdom
Family / The Male Brain Vs. The Female Brain by ilelabola(m): 6:57pm On Apr 28, 2013
*Have youever wondered why you and your partner can walk away from a conversation with completely different understandingso f what was discussed? Now there's proof that neither one of you is crazy -- you're just different!
New scientific research has found subtle differences between the brains of men and women. The studies, which include both physical imaging and psychological research, are leading to greater understandingof the differences between the sexes.
While it's not completely clear how the structural differences in male and female brains affect their function, scientists theorize that the most likely impact is upon the way men and women process information.
One difference between men and women's brains is size. Men's brains on average are 10 percent bigger than women's and have 4 percent more cells. But before all you men claim superiority for having a biggerbrain, you'll need to know that women's brains contain more nerve cells and cellular connections, which allows their smaller, more compact brains to be more efficient and effective.
Men's brains tend to perform tasks predominantly with the left-side, which is the logical/ rational side of the brain. Women, on the other hand, use both sides of their brains because a woman's brain has a larger corpus callosum, which meanswomen can transfer data between the right and left hemispheres fasterthan men. While this does not mean that women are more likely to be in their "right mind," it does illuminate why Martians tend to approach communication more often with a task-oriented "let's fix the problem" state of mind, while Venusians tend to be more creative and aware of feelings in their communication style.********* fb.com/basicknowledgeandwisdom

I beg everyone of you here, to please, run 4/40 from the recently announced Biiiiig 5 plan from Glo, like running from a plague, tsunami and poison.
That plan is the latest FRAUDULENT tricks from Glo, using their poisonous carrot (5X bonus) to track you.
First, no matter how much you recharge from N200 and above, you will only get N240 in your bonus account, with 5MB free data that youcan never use.
Worst of it all is the fact that, all your calls are charged at 50k/sec (N30/minute). You just ask me, why will Globacom become this insensitive, by introducing higher tariff plan, in the face of MNP, why we are clamouring for a cheaper call tariff, even with free on-net calls as the case may be.
Sadly, you will have to cough out N100 to migrate out of the good for nothing Biiiiig 5 plan, to any other Glo prepaid plans of your choice, andN105 to join G-BAM from Biiiiig 5. Nigerians, is that what you need from Glo now? I don't think so.

Phones / Things You Probably Nevr Know Your Mobile Phone Could Do by ilelabola(m): 8:16pm On Apr 22, 2013
Things you probably nevr know your mobile phone could do..
By Doyin Fasipe
1.There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.
Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival.
Check out the things that you can dowith it: FIRST
Emergency The Emergency Number worldwide for all Mobile Phones is 112.
If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency,
dial 112 and your mobile will search any existing network in your areato establish the emergency
number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialled even if the keypad is locked.
This works on all phones worldwide and is free. It is the equivalent of 000.
SECOND
Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry?
This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call
someone at home on their mobile phone from your cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home
press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end.
Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you.
Distance is no object.
You could be thousands of miles away, and if you can reach someone
who has the other 'remote' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
Editor's Note: I didn’t believe this when I heard about it! I rang my daughter in Sydney from Perth when we went on holiday.
She had the spare car key. We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a mobile phone!'
THIRD
Hidden Battery Power To activate, press the keys *3370# (remember the asterisk).
Do this when the phone is almost dead.
Your mobile will restart in a special way with this new reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increasein battery life.
This reserve will get re charged when you charge your mobile next time.
This secret is in the fine print in mostphone manuals.
Most people however skip this information without realizing.
FOURTH
How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? To check your Mobile phone's serial number,
key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 #
Ensure you put an asterisk BEFORE the #06# sequence.
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset.
Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.
If your phone ever get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code.
They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.
You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either.
If everybody done this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.
This secret is also in the fine print of most mobile phone manuals.
It was created for the very purpose of trying to prevent phones from being stolen.
Also -ATM PIN Number Reversal - Good to Know !! If you should ever be forced by
a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your PIN # in reverse.
For example, if your pin number is 1234, then you would put in 4321.
The ATM system recognizes that your PIN number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine.
The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknownto the robber,
the police will be immediately dispatched to the location.
All ATM’s carry this emergency sequencer by law.
This information was recently broadcast on by Crime Stoppers however it is seldom used because people just don't know about it.

Health / Ten Tips To Help You Control Your High Blood Pressure by ilelabola(m): 8:37pm On Apr 20, 2013
Ten Tips To Help You Control Your High Blood Pressure~
1. Make sure your blood pressure is under 140/90 mm Hg. If your systolic pressure (the top number) is over 140, ask your doctor what you can do to lower it.
2. Take your high blood pressure medicine, if prescribed, every day. If you have questions, talk to your doctor.
3. Aim for a healthy weight. If you are overweight or obese, carrying this extra weight increases your risk of high blood pressure. One way to determine if you need to lose weight is to find out your body massindex or BMI. If your BMI is above the healthy range (i.e., 25 or greater), or if your waist measurement is greater than 35 inches (women) or 40 inches (men) you probably have excess abdominalweight and you may benefit from weight loss especially if you have other risk factors. Talk to your doctorto see if you are at increased risk for high blood pressure and need to lose weight.
4. Increase your physical activity. Do at least 30 minutes of moderate activity, such as walking, most days of the week. You can do 30 minutes in three 10-minute segments.dr.sha rib azmi
5. Choose foods low in salt and sodium. Most Americans should consume no more than 2.4 grams (2,400 milligrams) of sodium a day. That equals 6 grams, about one teaspoon of table salt a day. For someone with high blood pressure, the doctor may advise less.
6. Read nutrition labels. Almost all packaged foods contain sodium. Every time you prepare or eat a packaged food, know how much sodium is in one serving.
7. Keep a sodium diary. You may be surprised at how much sodium you consume each day and the diary will help you decide which foods to decrease or eliminate.
8. Use spices and herbs instead of salt to season the food you prepare at home.
9. Eat more fruits, vegetables, grains, and low-fat dairy foods.
10. If you consume alcohol at all, consume moderate amount or restrict...................... www.fb.com/basicknowledgeandwisdom

Investment / Unnecessary Expenses You Should by ilelabola(m): 7:13pm On Apr 19, 2013
ome Unnecessary Expenses You Should Try To Avoid On a daily basis people spend money on things ranging from feeding and transport to phone calls. Experts say while some of the expenditure are out of your control, several can be reduced to save costs, while others can be avoided altogether.

Some costs such as school fees and taxes cannot be avoided by parents and adults, but some others such as subscription fees or illegal parking fines can be avoided. Financial experts say by avoiding such expenses you can free up money and boost your savings.

Some of the costs you should try to avoid are discussed below.

Airline fees

Many air travelers regularly pay such fees as excess baggage fees or even checked baggage fees. But experts say many of them do so needlessly. They explain that many of the people that end up at the airport with excess baggage do so because they failed to prepare properly or read about baggage limits. As a result they end up paying for items they could have left behind had they paid more attention to guidelines. This amounts to money that could have been put to better use going to ‘waste’. For instance, some airlines allow passengers to carry up to 40 kilogramme of baggage without paying and charge N500 per kg of excess baggage. This means that if you carry 10kg of excess baggage that would cost you N5, 000.

To avoid such expenditure, it is advised that you pack lightly if possible when travelling by air. For a short trip, if it is possible, take only carry-on baggage. And ensure that you know the weight limitations of the airline you are travelling with.

Power supply re-connection fee

Some people end up paying electricity re-connection fee almost every month or every time officials of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria comes to disconnect subscribers who have defaulted in paying their bills. At the moment, the re-connection fee is N2, 000. If you have to pay that every two months that means in a year, you are spending N12, 000 that would have gone into paying your electricity bill instead. So, if you are yet to get a prepaid meter, it is advised that you avoid this cost and instead ensure that you try to pay your bills promptly. Even if you just moved into a house, with a rather high outstanding bill, you could try to work out an arrangement with the management of the PHCN office in your area instead of waiting until you are disconnected as that would mean you will have to pay N2,000 for ‘nothing’.

Traffic tickets

This is one area where many car owners can end up accruing a lot of costs. By parking illegal, dropping people off at the wrong spots, failing to wear your seat belts, driving without a license or number plate, etc., you will have to part with a huge amount of cash once you get caught by officers and men of the Federal Road Safety Corps or any of the traffic management agencies state governments are establishing now. In Lagos State, for instance, there is the Lagos Traffic Management Agency and for each offence you commit, there is a fine attached. Some car owners have paid up to N50, 000 in fines over time. For someone trying to become financially independent and to have a bigger savings account, you can do without such fees.

So, whether you are in a hurry or not, do not violate traffic laws; doing that makes you incur costs you don’t need.

While you can avoid traffic fines, it is not possible to avoid parking fees. However, experts advise that it is important that you avoid paying very expensive parking fees, especially when there are free parking spaces around. Also, you can avoid excessive parking fees by shopping or eating at places where they are free parking spaces.

Bank charges

It is true that banks no longer charge you N100 for using your automated teller machine card on their ATM even though you do not bank with them. But there are other charges you could avoid. If you use your ATM card to withdraw money frequently then you will have to part with anything from N500 upwards every month for SMS alerts.

If you engage in online banking and you regularly transfer funds then you are bound to pay more as some banks charge up to N100 or more for each transaction.

To ensure that these fees do not affect your savings, you need to pay more attention to what you are being charged and to make adjustments where necessary.

By ensuring you have a budget for every day, you will have a clue about your cash requirements and in the absence of emergencies you won’t find yourself looking for and ATM many times in one day.

It is also important to have details about how much your bank charges for its services.

Subscriptions costs

Experts advise people to regulate their subscription costs by review them from time to time. This, they say, is because over time some subscriptions that where once useful to you will become irrelevant. Consequently, it would be unwise to keep subscribing for them. That will amount to wastage of funds. So, if you have subscribed for a special package from you GSM service provider or to a professional magazine which you no longer use, ensure you cancel the subscription and stop payments.

The same thing goes for cable subscription. Experts say if you hardly spend any time at home then you should subscribe for just a few relevant channels instead of bearing the costs of the entire available channels.

Late payments

When it comes to tuition or fees for seminars and workshops, it is common to observe that a higher amount is marked out as fees for late registration. Similarly, when you default on the repayment of a loan or payment for a lease purchase, you are likely to be asked to pay higher interest rates. Experts say the extra charges you incur for late payments also fall into the category of costs you should avoid. To do that, they advise that you should try to be more organised and to pay your bills on time.

Missed discounts

Experts say some people do not know how to negotiate, they fail to carry out any form of research about companies providing or selling the product they want. Consequently, they miss opportunities to negotiate prices or to buy goods at discounts; once they are told the asking price and they have the money, they pay.

According to experts, people should strive to avoid such purchases. They stress that buying items at a higher price when there are being offered at discounts amounts to financial recklessness on the part of the buyer.

Delivery fees

With several online companies now offering services in Nigeria and as companies intensify their battle for customers, some of them now offer delivery services. They tell you that you can buy their products and have them delivered to you, at a small price. But some of them offer free delivery services. Those are the ones experts say you are better off patronizing They say that while companies give the impression that they are only charging a token for delivery, many of them make profits on that as well. According to them, there is the need for buyers to be vigilant and to opt for free delivery instead of paying for the service www.fb.com/basicknowledgeandwisdom
