Never in the political history of Nigeria has a candidate joined a moribund political party and within a few months, turned it into a national movement for the emancipation of Nigerians. Definitely, Obi's past record is working for him.

Even Tinubu and Atiku with all their perceived structures cannot dare to contest outside APC and PDP respectively. Imagine Orji Uzor Kalu, Rochas Okorocha or this current Abia Governor trying to contest for presidency, it would seem like a child's play as nobody would take them serious except those who are interested in their stolen money. These are characters who can not win their local government in a free and fair election.

Because of tomorrow, the current set of governors are hereby advised to behave themselves, stop embezzling state allocation and emulate H.E Mr Peter Obi. You can't say, you may want to aspire for higher position in the future. As electoral reforms continue to progress, corrupt ex-governors would not be able to run for senate again. Jot it down!
Hiding funds in Panama, following madman's advice, follow your wife to live in Lagos instead of Anambra the best state in Nigeria.
Obi's rise in popularity stems from the ruling party's abysmal economic performance and the religious turn some pastors played/play to support Obi against some islamization phobia.
People needed/were thirsty for a third force so much that they embraced Obi as the option. It has little to nothing to do with his performance, competence or precedence. It's like a thirsty person or hungry person. The next food is sweet to him.

Lol, like GEJ the learner trainee president abi? Where is vision and delegation when you put learning as key of leadership? That's how Obi listened to madman the other day.

It has always been unaffordable at least in terms of opportunity costs but the removal is a politcal matter that requires skill and dexterity. It is not as simple as the president declaring it . He needs support of the National Assembly and other groups in Nigeria. Jonathan could not muster that support. Let us see whether Tinubu will win election first and then whether he does not chicken out. Even military governments have had to back down so let us see
He will, he's the only one among the candidates that knows how to get what he wants.

Good... Everyone knows subsidy has to go, or should have since been removed!

The issue here is that the same set of people who argued against it vehemently in the past have no moral standing today to speak on its removal! That's the simple crux of this thread.

Next time, stick to the objective of a discourse.
Lol. Moral standing kwa, we are talking of financial standing here. So they must live in a bubble or put head inside ground like ostrich? Is their word the unchangeable word of God or something? You that agreed to a salary in 2012, why don't you have the moral standing to stick to that agreement?

All the things Peter Obi said in his manifesto is what Tinubu is now saying…

From removal of subsidy to abolishing multiple forex market.

Tinubu is a grade one thief.
Really? All we see Obi talk about is lamentations, or saying some rubbish about how he carries his bag or sleeps on one bed or how his son's hair is a talking point in the University. Or of course China and Bangladesh lamba. He totally forgets everything in this his marvelous manifesto that came very late after pressure from every serious quarter.

Tinubu is talk and do, that's one obstacle that might be in his way. His talk and plans are very patriotic. But the West and the powers that be are not very patriotic and may see him as a threat that must not be allowed to get there.

Is it only subsidy we can remove to save money? If corruption, the root of all leakages making subsidy cannot be handled or tamed considerably, it means corruption has every tight to intercept the saved subsidy money when removed.

The thunder that will potentially fire some people is running on diesel engine.
If you like, call him bingo not just Yekini. That guy is your next president, God sparing our lives. Are you unaware that the subsidy itself is corruption personified?

My simple question is after subsidy removal...how much will we be getting fuel like 400-500 per litre
That will even add more to the high price of goods and services
Let's be considerate for once and leave party diversity out of these
The only thing a common Nigerian benefits from the government
Where will they channel the money to
I believe it's to embezzle it and share it and the inflation persist
Let's think deep
Let's vote wisely
Let's look out for a better Nigeria
Vote wisely for who? All the candidates have said that fuel subsidy is going, it cannot remain.

Removing the subsidy 2012 when the economy was still manageable and people still had it good would've been far better than now when the economy is so harsh and biting real bad... removing it now would be so disastrous for the common man..
It has to be done and it would've been better if it was removed long ago.

As for you people who see white and turn it into black,it is only God that will have mercy on you.
Nigeria's economy wasn't supposed to be manageable then, 2012, but very good and that was the problem. The people were not confident with the government.
There was so much waste and frivolous spending by the government that they were not trusted to be given more while people pay for it. Nigerians went out en masse, not just Tinubu or APC. A government that was lavishing billions and now gave people New Year gift of pump price increase and subsidy removal. It was a very insensitive timing with no cushion which was very affordable. You must know Farouk Lawan, no?

Hypocrite did you and you jagaban accept this same truth 10 years ago when GEJ wanted to remove same subsidy? Did you all not stage protest? Your hypocrisy stinks
Timing is what determines if you can eat your food or not. If you take it out too soon or too late, it's not the same taste and quality. This is so basic i feel worried having to break it down.
Nigerians came out en masse to protest and show their displeasure when the federal government announced the removal of the fuel subsidy, around the time the contents of the 2012 budget revealed excessive amounts given to frivolities.

You agreeing to one salary 10years ago and disagreeing to same salary this year, is it also hypocrisy?
