donself9: Have you not being following or You dont read News ... the loophole in the electoral law is electronic transmission is not mandatory, Inec can use it or decline to it
The electoral law stands with manual transfer ... which is favourable for rigging and re writing That why Nigerians are clamouring we dont want that anymore
We want E - transmission that is the logical thing we are in a Tech world Explain how manual transfer is favorable for rigging and e-transmission is not. The same ec8 or what is what is transmitted whether manual or electronic. You obviously don't understand the realities of rigging. You guys just shout rigging when you lose elections. |

Most you in Tinubu camp dont just have $ense no matter how myopic, the reasoning is just Myopic .. You are in power today n enjoying loopholes
No one rules forever, if Amaechi had use there time well will he be on the road today protesting ... E go soon reach Tinubu side too .. they think they will rule forever make we dey watch What's the loophole oga? |

It is much expected. When you know you are losing, you scatter everything or ask to start the game again. This is basic primary school tactics.
Let NA approve mandatory transmission now, it's still the same losers that will cry for years that their votes were not counted because it wasn't mandatorily transmitted. |

Omalicious1: Yes, he must take the blame because the legislators make the law. If INEC is really independent then they should be allowed to make their law. [/b] The Senate did not ban electronic transmission of results. They did not say elections must be rigged. They did not wake up one morning and decide to “destroy democracy.” What they did was refuse to pass a rigid, one size fits all provision that mandates real time electronic transmission from every polling unit in a country as complex as Nigeria. And that matters. Nigeria is not just Abuja, Lagos, or Portharcourt with strong network coverage. We have riverine communities, border villages, forests, hills, places where even making a phone call is an adventure. To pretend those realities do not exist is not progressive. It is performative. The Senate’s position, whether people like it or not, is rooted in practical governance. They want INEC to deploy technology where it works, improve infrastructure, strengthen backups, and avoid a situation where elections are automatically invalidated because of network failure rather than the will of voters. That is not anti democracy. That is caution. What worries me, to be honest, is how quickly we now equate disagreement with bad faith. If you question the method, you are suddenly an enemy of the people. If you ask about logistics, security, hacking risks, or rural inclusion, you are accused of planning to rig 2027. That kind of thinking is dangerous. Law making is not activism. It requires patience, foresight, and an understanding that laws must work for the entire country, not just the loudest voices online or at the gates of the National Assembly. Yes, technology should be part of our elections. Absolutely. But forcing a fragile system into law without fixing the underlying problems is how you create chaos, endless litigations, and disputed outcomes. Sometimes leadership is not about yielding to pressure. It is about taking decisions that are unpopular today but stable tomorrow. We can demand better elections without burning down the institutions meant to deliver them. Democracy is not weakened by debate. It is weakened when we stop thinking. #copied |

I am trusting INEC so much here when it comes to cyber-security,, and you're here painting me in negative colours because of it.?? What is paid for? You trust INEC but you're complaining about glitch. How much is the money paid for cybersecurity, na you pay? BluntCrazeMan: Agree with me that the so-called cyber-attacks was not the cause of the GLITCH.!!
The GLITCH was caused by the errors and omissions of the ICT personnel (for not creating the adequate algorithms)..
So, why bringing the news of cyber-attacks here??
There will always be cyber-attacks. And it will always be defeated conveniently.!!
The adequate cyber-security measures were being paid adequately for.. So, why should I bother again about it? You just said "We never heard of any serious cyber-security concerns around the IREV." So i brought to your attention the news of over 12.9million cyber attacks. And you dismiss it with adequate measures paid for. Are you INEC's chief security officer? |

BluntCrazeMan: IREV had been working since 2021. We never heard of any serious cyber-security concerns around the IREV.
WHY SHOULD WE COME NOW -- SIX YEARS LATER -- AND START TO BOTHER ABOUT IT.?
. You said 2019. (Or do you mean 2020.??)
Why didn't such a story repeat itself again in their 2024 election.??
SEVEN GADDAMMMNNED YEARS AGO.!!!!
And after the cold war, the two countries resorted to manual methods of election.?? Or they beefed-up their cyber-security.??
ARE YOU IN ANY WAY DEMARKETING NIGERIA BY SAYING THAT NIGERIA DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ANY CYBER-SECURITY IN PLACE.??
MY ANSWER IS A VERY LOUD “YESS”...
You just cited the challenges other countries had, yet these countries never went ANALOG. They continued with Electronic Transmission.. Yet, you used their experiences as an excuse to go ANALOG.??

What amazes me is that those 9 states have governors, Senators, and House of Rep members...wtf are they doing about the network? Is he supposed to take the blame? Is INEC not supposed to be independent? Is he to transfer money to INEC to get internet in all over 176000 polling units for mandatory transmission? |
