Vincent41:My friend, don't be sentimental, tribal, and irrational in your opinion regarding this matter. There are more humane and rational ways of settling political issues aside violence. You young men don't know what war is. You could even die fighting a just course. NDA have strong reasons for their course of action. Let them dialogue with the Federal Government instead of destroying what God has blessed us with. Let me here also implore the Federal Government of Nigeria to seriously consider the option of Confederation in Nigeria. I think the people of the Niger Delta should be given better treatment and be relocated to a more conducive environment and also be adequately provided for- free housing, better means of livelihood and be given one fifth of the revenue derived from oil and gas because they are the goose that lay the golden eggs! The NDA should please hold their peace and embrace dialogue rather than calling for war. Let me warn here that the option of war is ugly, brutal and inhuman. |

Some Nigerian are still far from being civilized. It baffles me to still see some people expressing tribal sentiments over issues that can be better resolved through dialogue. The Ibo express hatred for the Yoruba or the Hausa or the other way round, over issues of national concern. The fight for national unity claimed the lives of many in the past. Because I witnessed this personally, I pray fervently, it doesn't happen again. Niger Delta Avengers, please, embrace dialogue. Don't let the innocent people of Niger Delta suffer unceremoniously. President Buhari has good intentions for this country. Be patient with him please. Let those frustrated individuals who call for war seek for a better alternative - go and embrace any transformer close to your house and let those who have value for life remain in peace and unity! |
Please, be matured and literate enough to be more civil in your language when making passing remarks about our honourable President. Hate comments are not permitted here. The President is making frantic effort to turn around the economy and to keep corruption at bay. Please, be patient with him. |
Salary and wages of workers are meager. Just spend wisely. You could even begin with garri and groundnuts or guguru and upgrade gradually to akpu and ogbolo without meat and save 10% of your pay. |
Elechi Amadi, you are not dead but sleeping. Your works are awake and speaking for you. Wake up in eternity and take the glory; that is, if you didn't deny anyone his/her life! Rest in peace daddy, wake up to eternal life! |
Achuwa1:Please shun being materialistic and selfish. Nigeria is united and peace-loving. Let us call for the implementation of the resolution reached at the recently concluded National Conference and not seek the option of war and sectionalism |
Intellect20:I am not a Yoruba. I am from the Niger Delta and I am not as tribal conscious as you are. Anything can be located at a place of convinience in Nigeria. Tribal sentiment breeds hatred and disunity in a country. Be Godly and shun anything that may involve the loss of human lives. |
Intellect20:It irks me to think that some Nigerians are still tribal conscious. I'm not even a Yoruba. I'm from the Niger Delta region. We have lived together in peace with various tribal groups for years. Why do you wish to truncate the peace and unity that exists between us. Sometimes I begin to wonder if the average Nigerians still have the iota of Godliness that qualifies us as true Christians who seek peace. Many talk about war as if taking human life doesn't matter to them anymore. Has satan taken over your hearts that you seek to take the life of a fellow human being. Why do you go to church when you cannot seek peaceful means of resolving such a sensitive issue? War is not the answer; peaceful agitation is. The Syria and Somalia experience is a sorry situation. Put away acrimony. The bad governance in the country is what is aiding the people's frustration. Let us trade words with the government and live the country a one United Nation. |
The unity of this country must not be jeopardized by selfish interest and malicious tribal sentiment. Let us come together at a round table conference and redefine our statehood status. Let's device a new government system that would favour the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The people indeed lack sufficient attention from the government. Let us be reasonable please. And to the militants, stop putting the lives of the ordinary people at risk. War is not the answer to your struggle; dialogue is. War can generate serious social and economic problems for the people of Niger Delta. It can even lead to the death of your loved ones. Your efforts may even be in vain. Those asking for war did not witness the genocide that heralded the Nigeria Civil war. Please, we seek a peaceful and united Nigeria! |
Don't go to Lagos please!!!!! Benin City is the best place to live on earth. Come and share fun, love, peace and unity. It's the heart-beat of the nation. No militants, no oil spills. Natural and homely. Edo State is number one! |

Some of you agitating war lack foresight and do that out of greed and, probably frustration. If you reflect back to the Holocaust and devastation that heralded the last civil war your childish insensitivity will mellow down. See the way you ask for secession as if it would solve the problem. Do you realize that your loved ones could die in cross-fire? You could yourself die. If you have nothing to lose dying, others still love life. Don't ask for war; embrace dialogue please. When war emanates, the rich fly abroad with members of their families and leave you and I to die fighting for their future comfort. Don't fight a fight to favour the rich. The poor die in war while the rich enjoy the fruit of the poor man's struggle. Be warned! |

Let all Christians follow Jesus example of humility and material poverty and be rich in eternity. Wealth enslaves the spirit and corrupts the body. Let all Men of God look beyond material acquisition and strive after true righteousness. |
Oshiomhole, my able comrade, I trust you will not leave the teacher's promotion pending. I will forever remember your good governance in Edo State. Long live my Governor. Long live Edo people! |
