Exactly what i needed to hear. Thank you very much for your input. I will give you feedback by decemeber.

doggedfighter:
You are doing pretty well as a young man.

For someone earning monthly sure salary, there's always this fear about going fully into freelancing grin

My friend who's an IT guy that left his company told me two months ago that he's never been this financially low in a long while and has to really work twice as hard since he knows it's either that or wahala for him. grin

But to tell you the truth he's adjusting nicely and we laughed over it 2 days ago grin

You are young with less responsibilities and
an IT guy too there's no better time to make the move than now.

Hopefully we will look back and remember how unsure you were and laugh over it too grin

And also share a bear hug on how far you've come grin

I have dropped my view but the final decision is still yours.

May your life be continually beautiful . grin

Career / Should I Resign ? by imashyguy: 7:43pm On Sep 30, 2022
I'm in a dire situation. I am working in IT it has been good so far. I have reached a point in the company I worked for I don't see any further growth and my manager bitches a lot. I have a side hustle (still IT) that brings me forex and obviously it pays better as the naira declining is giving me an advantage. With the way things are going, I believe if I resign and focus solely on my side hustle I can make my entire yearly salary in one month. This September I have achieved a record of making a total of 6 months of my monthly salary. I'm still young and have not many responsibilities, to be honest and I have been having intrusive thoughts of resigning and focusing 100% on my business but something deep down is holding me I guess it is fear of the unknown.

My current salary is around 300k. I need advice on what to do in my situation. I have been collecting my salary I know how comforting it is especially during uncertain times like covid but something in me is telling me to pull the trigger and explore the other side of being a freelancer/small business owner.

Like the title says should I resign and focus 100 percent or continue to combine with the 9-5 which I doubt if I can manage both.
Politics / Black-rhino-dangote-conclude-plans-to-invest-10bn-in-kano-south-east-ipp-project by imashyguy: 7:50pm On Mar 13, 2016
Black Rhino, Dangote conclude plans to invest $10bn in Kano, South East IPP projects
Black Rhino, an indigenous portfolio company of Blackstone Energy Partners, and Dangote Group of Companies, are to jointly invest up to $10 billion in energy infrastructure projects in Kano State and in East South Nigeria.

The projects are with particular emphasis on renewable energy, power transmission and building of pipelines.

Muhammadu Sanusi II, emir of Kano, who is the chairman of Black Rhino Group, disclosed that his group and Dangote Industries would contribute $5 billion each for the construction of a coal power plant and a solar energy project in Kano, as well as gas pipeline project from Akwa Ibom to be constructed to South West, where Dangote Industries were concentrated.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Emir said the consortium decided to embark on the power projects in Kano because of the power crisis in the state.

He further disclosed that the coal project and the solar energy project would produce about 1,000mw and 100mw, respectively.

Emir Sanusi expressed optimism that the projects would, to a large extent, improve electricity power generation in the state for both the consumption of residents and for the revival of the ailing industries in the state.

In his remarks at the occasion, Aliko Dangote, chairman, Dangote Group, expressed optimism on the viability of the projects, assuring that it would improve power generation in the state and resuscitate industries to generate employment opportunities for the teeming youth and make the economy vibrant.

Dangote said the gas project from the South East to Western Nigeria would extend to Ghana, and would go a long way in addressing the energy needs of industries within the region, particularly those under the Dangote Group.

On his part, the state governor expressed hope that “the project would bail Kano State out of its prevailing economic depression and uplift the state to another level of economic prosperity and development.

“Now that the national economy is dwindling, we have no better way to revive it than to invest in agriculture and resuscitate our industries.”

He promised that the state government would provide land, among other things, to enable the project materialise.

Stressing that power is very critical to the survival of industries in the state, he announced that the state was also making modest effort to provide electricity through the ongoing multi-billion naira Independent Power projects at Tiga and Challawa, which would generate 35mw of electricity.
Crime / How A "Nigerian Prince" Almost Scam Oyinbo by imashyguy: 11:39pm On Jan 28, 2016
Mr. Kumalo, a Nigerian prince emailed me today and informed me that his rich uncle Absalom died a week ago in South Africa and has left a grand fortune of 1,304,976,551 ZAR ($163.63 million USD). He cannot claim the entire sum himself because of his noble status in a foreign country, and the government will take the fortune for itself soon. Thus, he asked for my help in transferring the money. In return, he will let me keep almost half of the sum ($75 million USD.)

I replied and he told me that I only need to wire $5,000 USD via Western Union to his escrow, Jarvis Smith, as proof that my intentions are good. He'll then have the government send me the entire fortune and I'll send him his share ($88.63 million USD) after keeping my own.

I'm about to send Mr. Smith the money and was thinking, maybe I can beat him at his game and keep the whole fortune for myself once I get it? Over $160 million is a lot better than just $75 million. What kind of risks would that involve? Should I take the risk?

Religion / Which Religion Provides The True Path To Heaven? by imashyguy: 11:15am On Nov 29, 2015
Ok so all of the monotheistic religions out there claim that THEIR path is the one that leads to heaven and that any other path pretty much lead to hell or some other place, right?

So let's consider four of these religions: Christian Protestant, Catholic, Islam, and Judaism.

Now allegedly, ONE of these four should definitely lead you to heaven; the question is, which one? If I just randomly choose one, I will have a 25% chance of going to heaven and 75% chance of going to hell, won't I?

So how can I make a choice that will give me better odds of making it to heaven?

Politics / (PIC) See The First Aircraft That Landed In Nigeria by imashyguy: 9:21am On Nov 07, 2015
The history of Nigerian aviation will be incomplete without the mention of Maiduguri and Kano city, where the first aircraft landed in Nigeria on November 1, 1925.

It is exactly 90 years since the historic flights, involving three De Havilland DH 9A aircraft belonging to the Royal Air Force, RAF.

Vincent Orange’s book, the “Coningham: A Biography of Air Marshal Sir Arthur Coningham”, vividly captured the expedition.

The air trip, led by the then Flight Lt. Coningham, began from Helwan (a town in Egypt) to Kano, with several stopovers with Egypt, Sudan and N’Djamena – then known as Fort Lamy.

Excerpts from pages 44 to 46 of the book revealed details about the journey, including how the pilots played polo with Emir of Zazzau, Ibrahim Kwasau and how Shehu of Borno Sanda Kura offered them rams.

Politics / Story Of Katsina’s Indigenous Christians by imashyguy: 12:43pm On Oct 31, 2015

A church in Batagarawa, Katsina State.
The story of the indigenous Christians of Katsina State is a heartwarming one, Daily Trust reports.
The history of Christians in Katsina dates back to the 19th century when the pioneer mission group in northern Nigeria, the Anglican Church Missionary Society (CMS) selected Africa as one of its areas of interest, with the aim of providing humanitarian services. According to Dahiru Rabe, Lecturer at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU) in his book ‘The British Colonial Occupation and Christian Missionary Activities in Katsina Emirate C. 1903-1936,’ the CMS had been able to reach the gates of Hausaland by establishing a station at Girku, near Zaria. But all their efforts were to no avail because conversion remained difficult. Therefore, Hausaland remained outside the influence of Christian missionaries throughout the 19th century.
Katsina, Kano, Zazzau, Daura, Hadejia, Gwandu emirates had no presence of missionary activities in the 19th century, despite the unabated zeal of the missionary groups that undertook their evangelical campaigns. However, in Katsina emirate, all the attempts to introduce Christian missionary activities could be attributed to the efforts of three principal missionary societies, namely the Anglican, the SIM and the Roman Catholic Mission. Due to the difficulties associated with evangelical work in the area, the missions were forced to retreat for a review of the situation. Thus, in 1910, at Edinburgh, a mission conference was convened where the mission groups pressed for change of attitude by the British officers towards the missions’ activities in northern Nigeria.
In 1926, another conference was convened at Lezoute, Belgium. This conference invited the then Governor of Nigeria, Graeme Thomson, who explained carefully the policy and manner of indirect rule in Northern Nigerian emirates. As a result of this conference, missionaries were assured access to the emirates of Hausaland. It was at this conference that Dr. Rowland Bingham, the founder of the S.I.M pressed the British colonial government to allow the penetration of the hinterland in Kano and Katsina emirates.
It was also at this Lezoute conference that for the first time the Governor explained that most of the progressive Emirs were going to be taught to accept religious tolerance. Therefore, the conference was the major turning point in the history of missionary activities in Katsina emirate in particular and Hausaland in general.
In present-day Katsina, the majority of Christians can be found in the Southern part of the state and predominantly in local governments of Malumfashi, Kafur, Musawa, Bakori and Matazu. This can be attested to by the presence of old missionary hospitals and schools that have existed for long in the area. In Malumfashi, there is a Christian missionary hospital, over a hundred years old and an ECWA church in Matazu only recently reapplied for a renewal of land titles having reached 99 years on the land.
This long-standing relationship between the Christian community and the dominant Muslim population has blossomed over the years and its manifestation is all over the state. Over time, they have inter-married and settlements become interwoven. Unlike in other northern states, it is only in Katsina that you do not have places like Sabon Gari or Tudun Wada, which is mostly inhabited by Christians and non-natives. A typically dressed Katsina Christian is hardly differentiated from a Muslim counterpart. They wear same attires, bear similar names and speak the Hausa dialect fluently.
Very Reverend Nelson Onyekachukwu says “We are having a wonderful peaceful coexistence and work hand-in-hand. One unique thing about this place is that there is no discrimination like in other northern states. What we enjoy in Katsina, they don’t.” He added that everyone is received with open arms, without discrimination. “They see us as one, making Katsina a unique state,” he said.
Onyekachukwu gave an example: “Minor day-to-day issues of course arise. Some few weeks ago I received a call from Bakori about a problem on a farm land and I was happy with the way the District Head handled the matter. He wasn’t a Christian but a devout Muslim, yet he judged the case in favour of the Christian family. He pointed out that they were the rightful owners of the land and returned it to them. When they called me and told me, I was so happy. I believe our relationship will continue to blossom,” he said.
For Engineer Sayyadi Sanda, an indigene of Malumfashi who grew up in a mixed family of both Christians and Muslims, it is an experience worth sharing. “There has not been a time I feel isolated from either my friends or family,” he explained, adding that

Politics / Russian Passenger Plane Crashed In Sinai- Egypt by imashyguy: 10:07am On Oct 31, 2015
A Russian plane carrying more than 200 people has crashed in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, according to the Egyptian prime minister's office.

A "Russian civilian plane... crashed in the central Sinai," the office of Prime Minister Sharif Ismail said in a statement on Saturday.

Russian media quoting aviation sources also reported that the plane had crashed.

Egyptian air traffic control lost contact with the civilian airliner shortly after it took off from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh to head to the Russian city of St Petersburg.

The plane, which is an Airbus 321, is operated by the Russian airline Kogalymavia, also known as Metro Jet.

A senior aviation official told the AFP news agency it was a charter flight operated by a Russian company and had on board 217 passengers and seven crew members.

Sharm el-Sheikh is popular with Russian tourists.

Initial reports were conflicting, as the chief of Egypt's state Aviation Accidents Commission, Ayman al-Moqdam, said the plane was safe in Turkish air space.

Security sources in the Sinai Peninsula later confirmed reports that an aircraft was missing.

If Amaechi should run for the presidency office in the nearest future, I see him winning the seat without any difficulty.
