Sarri in special meeting with Ronaldo as he wants him to play central striker role for Juventus

The new Bianconeri boss has met with the Portuguese superstar and outlined his plans for 2019-20, with it his intention to implement a new system

Maurizio Sarri has taken the reins at Juventus and made a meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo one of his first points of business.

The former Napoli and Chelsea boss is back in Serie A after a season-long spell in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge and he has inherited a star-studded squad in Turin from Massimiliano Allegri.

And it would appear that Sarri is already eager to ensure that he has everybody on the same page and buying into his plans for 2019-20.

Ronaldo will have a prominent role to play for the Bianconeri next season and his new boss has made a special trip to meet his star player, with Sarri visiting the Portuguese on the French Riviera on Friday.

Sporting director Fabio Paratici was also in attendance as a blueprint was drawn up for a new era at the Allianz Stadium.

A major part of that project will be a slight positional tweak for Ronaldo, with the intention being to get the five-time Ballon d’Or winner operating as a central striker, rather than a support forward.

Juventus want the 34-year-old in and around the penalty area at all times and their belief is that Ronaldo could chase down the all-time record of most goals in a single Serie A season, which currently stands at 36.

Gonzalo Higuain, who is due back at Juve this summer from a loan spell at Chelsea, is the current record holder after his stunning campaign with Napoli, under Sarri's stewardship, in the 2015-16 season.

Ronaldo managed 28 across all competitions in 2018-19, with 21 of those coming in the Italian top-flight and Sarri’s plan is to now push the Portuguese closer to 40.

In an effort to try and hit that mark, the new man at the helm will look to use either a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2 formation.

Douglas Costa and Federico Bernardeschi will be charged with providing the ammunition for Ronaldo from wide roles, while there also appears to be a future for Paulo Dybala at the club.

Indeed, at his Juve unveiling press conference on Thursday, the Italian suggested he needs "talented players who can make the difference", mentioning Dybala and Costa by name.

It does, however, remain to be seen whether Ronaldo will buy into the new vision, as he has opposed playing a central striker role in the past during his time at Real Madrid.

He prefers to drift into the box from a free role and take advantage of the space opened up by others.

Further discussions are planned during pre-season, with Juve eager to get Ronaldo in the best condition and position to make the biggest impact.

He has, however, welcomed Sarri’s efforts to make him integral to the club's future plans and no doors have been closed as the Bianconeri prepare to go in search of a ninth successive Serie A title.

Aaron Ramsey is one who has been brought in in an attempt to help them do just that, while there is also interest in Adrien Rabiot, as well as Matthijs de Ligt and Paul Pogba.

Everyone was outstanding except Mikel

You're right, Mikel should be a bench warmer he's a waste being.

Chukwueze, Iwobi, Aina and Ighalo were the key men today.

That's what to expect when a below par tournament is competed every 2 years.

Cristiano Ronaldo is poise to appear in his 5th European Championship, a tournament organized every 4 years.

Messi is already playing in his 5th Copa America, like European Championship Cops America is organized every 4 years. (Expect in 2016 when Copa America celebrated its 100th years in existence and they decided to organize a centenary competition.)

where's Christiano Ronaldo, from Brazil playing for Portugal, the greatest player ever

if Christiano is from Argentina, Argentina for win like 3 world cups , and like 4 Copa with the squad they has in the last 15 yrs, am just saying without comparing him with anyone.

Cristiano Ronaldo is 100% completely Portuguese.
He has zero Brazilian root.

The name Ronaldo was given to him by his Father, because CR7 was born when Ronald was the USA President.

Mbape alone will cost more than 300,million Euros.

Since 2012 that I became active in social media, I haven't heard of any top politician whose son/daughters graduated from one of the public institutions we have in Nigeria.

I have some colleague who gain admission in 2012, but they just graduated April 2019.

No repeat, no spill. Just strike and session cancelations.

Me I have been schooling since 2012 yet I'm not sure of graduation by 2020. (Although I've acquired NCE, now pursuing my B. Ed)

Ronaldo scored 118 goals for Man Utd and not 84

Sparky12:
From: collinsuchendusblog.com

In 2009, superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United for Real Madrid after scoring 84 goals from 196 appearances in the Red Devils' famous No 7 shirt during his six-year stay at Old Trafford.

He followed the successful footsteps of Manchester United legends such as George Best, Bryan Robson, David Beckham and Eric Cantona. But since he departed for Real Madrid, those following have only managed to score just 15 goals among them.

They are Michael Owen, Antonio Valencia, Angel Di Maria, Memphis Depay and current occupant Alexis Sanchez.

Ronaldo's immediate replacement, former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle forward Owen, scored five goals from 31 appearances.

He was then followed by Valencia, who was signed from Wigan as a right-winger replacement for Ronaldo in 2009 but switched from the No 25 shirt to No 7 for the 2012-13 season. He could only score one from 30 appearances.

Winger, Angel Di Maria scored just twice despite playing 27 times for Manchester United following a £59.7million switch from Real Madrid.

Di Maria was followed by another flop, Memphis Depay, who scored twice from 29 appearances during the 2015-16 season before leaving for Lyon.

Incumbent No 7 Alexis Sanchez, who earns a whopping £500,000 per week at Old Trafford, has so far been able to score just 3 goals from 32 appearances.

It's safe to write that no player has been able to replicate the success of the famous No 7 shirt since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club 10-years ago.

A Cigarette smoker without money can leave his house with faith that when He gets to the joint his friends will buy for him and for sure even without begging, his friends will say guy take one stick. That's Love.

A guy who loves beer without money can leave his house to a beer parlour with faith that his gang members will buy for him and for sure even without asking, his friends will say guy take one bottle. That's love.

But can a hungry/jobless person leave his house to a religious organisation with faith that someone will give him money to come and eat

Where is the love that we preach everyday?

Have you bothered to ask a member of your church/Mosque..religious organisations how life is treating them? People go through a lot and only few will voice out.
Someone will sow 1million naira seed in a religious gathering but beg him for 1k out side he will say no money.

This is why it's easy for the devil to confuse young minds to join bad gang because they even show love more than most people that preach love.
We the religious people really have to step up and start practising this love that we preach
