The cost for a new oem compressor is high and the so called tokunbo is 50/50 chance.
The major thing that really matter is high side reading and the low side reading e.g.
Camry 2008 VDC compressor
Design pressure
High side 3.53mpa
Low side 1.67mpa
So If you are going to use any manual compressed compressor make sure they are of the same capacity.
If not your car engine will be overloaded.

Hello Guys.
I have a 2008 Highlander.
179k original miles.
Oil Type mobil 1 usa spec
Vehicle was imported a year ago.
Engine type 2GR-FE

For a month now vehicle brings out blue smoke at cold startup for 10 seconds and disappears (does this after restinf for the whole night ). No matter how hard you drive it doesnt smoke.
Oil cooler lines are okay.
Performance is excellent.




Vehicle was serviced last month and has barely covered 500miles. But now it's short .

Still suspecting what might be wrong.
Will update thread again.
Ideas are also welcomed

Before spending money on new ac components, if you have a small or slow leak, try this. It's a LOT cheaper than ac parts.

When we first told shops around us about this, they laughed and said it wouldn't work. Now, we keep running out of stock because they keep buying it!

In this job, especially with the 2gr engines, as compared to the 1grs, organization is the key here.

The valve train components on the 2gr are complex, and can easily be mixed together by mistake, during disassembly.

Take a closer look at how I arranged all the camshaft bearing caps on various banks differently.

I had to get some white cellophane, and write the components on its designated banks(1 or 2).

Pls take note.:
¶ the camshaft rocker arms and pushrods had part numbers inscribed on them.
I never wanted to mixed any of them, nest the engine starts making some noises after assembled.
¶ you could assembly everything, and put them all with the timing chains differently their various valve covers.
