I think I have followed politics long enough to understand that deputies on their own don't swing elections for their principals, they are to help energize d base of identified interest, it's d principal that wins d race. Mike Ogiadome never won Afenmai votes for Lucky, after all who knew him then? Neither did Odubu win Edo South for Oshiomhole, he was just chosen to generate interest of d Binis, he was never popular in 2007, just an obscure former HOR member. Same with Phillip, he didn't win Edo North for Obaseki, twas Oshiomhole and to underscore that, in 2020 Phillip couldn't even deliver Jattu. Datti couldn't pull much for Obi in Kaduna cos Obi was not sellable in d north simple. Even if El Rufai was on his ticket as VP he still won't win. So u don't go about looking for d most popular person to become Deputy, d people understand deputy is spare tyre and he is not d real one they are voting for. What u need is a deputy that d majority of d people can identify with as their own. Otherwise who is that superstar in any of d LGs in Edo South that will deliver victory on his own credentials for a fatally flawed governorship candidate? Name one of such

You're just controverting yourself. No need to argue with you further. You think a Kwankwaso as vice to Obi would not have done far better than datti Ahmed in the same north west? We're talking about the influence of the personality in his domain. If you think the deputy to a governor doesn't sway election for his principal in his domain then you don't know anything about winning elections.

As for odubu,oghiadomhen and Philip Shaibu you should have gone back to check those results and see their impacts on the election. Deputies are picked to add value to the ticket.

When you pick a deputy, pick someone that has a substantial influence on his district or atleast can win his LGA to complement his principal.

If he lose, Oshomole will suffer the greatest loss.
So Oshomole is under obligation to deliver his zone.

The PDP candidate is sound but he has a bad manager. The governor is frantically trying to engage on a lot of projects which is a good development. He setup a team that can deliver but he has a lot going against him. Imposition, incompetence and betrayals. His conduct of the last elections also irked the electorates.

You can't judge a politician by solely his polling unit result.yiu also judge his followers,contribution,structure,diplomatic skill,federal connections etc. In that presidential,a lot if not most politicians in Edo or SS were not really interested.oshiomhole was directly involved so had to deliver.the Edo no be Lagos movement of 2020 was most felt in Edo south so pastor was powerless.the obidient movement also.edo south is heavily cosmopolitan like Lagos so it is very difficult to control the people esp strangers.did tinubu not lose Lagos? Shuaibu can be destructive and that's what APC needs na.he will make sure nothing for pdp up north.

His impact won't be as devastating as that of Oshiomhole. They're from the same LGA. And Oshiomhole's influence in the district is wider too.

If Shaibu works against PDP and Oshiomhole works against APC, that of Oshiomhole will nullify whatever negative impact Shaibu may have had on the PDP.

It's going to be a very interesting election. There'll be internal sabotage on both sides but the effects will depend on how influential the people working against you are in their domains. I read the press release of Denco this morning, it doesn't suggest any peace at all. Interesting times ahead!
