The government is sending a strong message to his contemporaries. The publicity of their rubbish was becoming too much. It's not because he sprayed money. Thanks to VDM and others that put him in the spotlight. It was going out of hand already.

We need to amend the constitution to give more protection and relevance to deputy governors.

If the governor and the deputy governor must be on a joint ticket to be able to run, it doesn't make any sense for the governor to be able to just change the deputy like a piece of shit at will.

If the deputy governor is impeached, let the joint ticket be nullified and the governor should lose his seat too.

Omobayo was the LP candidate for house of representatives in akoko edo last year. He couldn't do much at all. He finished distant third behind akpatason and adjoto.

This election is APC to lose. Everything seems to be set for them to win it seamlessly.

No sympathy for Shaibu looking at the way he messed up his political benefactor Oshiomhole. I knew he would not end well.

However I think another etsako man would have made more political sense or Kabiru Adjoto if he must go akoko edo.

The impeachment of Philip Shaibu as Deputy Governor of Edo State didn’t come as a surprise.

Interestingly, his impeachment was an apolitical decision by the Edo State House of Assembly - PDP, LP, APC legislators all supported the impeachment. This further shows how grave his offenses were for political across political spectrum to have supported his impeachment.

You cannot continue to undermine your principal, publicly. Philip Shaibu was the most powerful and popular deputy governor in Nigeria, this shows the extent to which Governor Obaseki gave him free rein and also supported him. At some point he apologized to the governor but he still went about deriding the progress Edo has made, a Government he is an active part of.

For Philip Shaibu, I guess he stretched his luck, pushed too far, and miscalculated politically. He was fortunate to have a Governor that didn’t gag him in anyway, he was free to activate events and make things happen. He did took all that for granted.

Ogbeide is not popular anywhere. He'll even struggle to win his ward in oredo. Ize Iyamu is okay, odubu is onboard. There's no problem in the APC right now.

As for omosede, she's on a journey of no return. She can't get the ticket in APC for ovia federal constituency. The queue is long. At best na use and dump she go be.

Naaaaaah...... ogbeide would have been a disaster. His choice would have further divided the party. Dennis Idahosa is the best option in this circumstance. Dekeri is onboard already. There's absolutely no problem in the party right now. All tendencies have been taken care of.
