You're totally off the mark. The Oba of Benin is not in the same category of traditional rulers with the emir of Kano. You can't dethrone the Oba because he's irreplaceable unlike the emir of Kano. Get that into your head. The fucking staff of office is useless to the Oba. You'll never see that useless staff in the hand of the Oba unlike the emir of Kano. The governor even kneels down before the Oba, doesn't that tell you something? The governor of Kano can not kneel before the emir. The emir is an apointee of the governor but the Oba is not. Lol.....you need to first understand that there's a light year difference between the emir of Kano and the Oba of Benin. They are two very different systems. The Oba doesn't derive his authority from the state government neither is he chosen or enthroned by the state government unlike the emir of Kano.

I'm a bini man, but on this issue I dont support the Oba, first Benin kingdom was invaded in 1897 by the British, no where in history suggests that it is only the palace that was robbed other households in Benin kingdom was also affected by the raid, that means is that is not the Oba property or the Oba claiming ownership of the artifacts. Secondly can the Oba provide the needed security for such Artifacts? Knowing full well that one small piece can amount to millions of naira, can such property be safe in his compound? Queen Elizabeth does not have a museum in her compound. With utmost respect the Oba should allow the government do their job. Tnks.

I told someone before that obaseki is going to end up destroying himself before the end of his second tenure. His good will is being eroded daily resulting from his actions. Many people are beginning to see him as being vindictive. As usual the sycophants will cheer him on until he goes into oblivion like they did to his predecessor. His own case will even be worse because there's nothing much to tie to him in terms of infrastructural development. He has spent all his time chasing after opponents and demolition of properties since his reelection.
