Moty111: Thanks a lot for your response.
I have a 5year US Visa, so I applied based on my CAN+ eligibility with just about 2 documents. However, the whole promise of a shorter visa approval date wasn’t the case. It took almost 2months.
If I send my passport to them for the visa, does it usually take time as well? I wouldn’t want to submit my passport and be tied down. Pls do you know how long it takes on the average to receive your passport back?
Thank you Your passport will be returned in 3 to 4 days after submission. I was in a similar situation but the only difference was that mine was associated with passport expiry and what I did was to have the visa stamped on the passport, then applied for a new passport afterwards, then applied for the same visa category a few months to the visa expiry and the visa was approved again and new passport stamped. I now have visas active on both passports, though one of passports has been canceled without prejudice. I hope this is helpful. |

oluayebenz: Your valid US visa already qualified you for a Canadian visa, so why did you submit all these documents? Obviously not to leave no stone unturned. |

Remember, I said the last experience was in 2023 when french visa applications were treated by VFS and I believe TLS should have a similar approach - unique tracking numbers. |

regularjoe8080: Good morning sir, you said if one is denied he/she email directly to french Embassy in Nigeria referencing the application number and URN...my question now is what is URN... Yes, I did say that based on personal experience. 1st experience was in 2019 and a colleague had his experience in 2020 before Covid-19 while my last experience in 2023 was not a denial but visa processing timeline. All the cases were presented genuinely with convincing evidences. Let me reiterate that writing them is not a guarantee that the denial will be overturned, however you may give it a shot. It worked for me and it may work for you too if your Case is convincing enough. |

uchennay: I've noticed that individuals Like you often favor speculation over facts, especially regarding visa applications. This platform is designed for idea exchange, and it appears that any differing view is seen as either encouragement or discouragement to you . Applying for a visa isn't like an academic or business or professional endeavor where one is urged to excel; it's a forum for sharing information. It's crucial to stay calm and not show too much eagerness, as it may suggest your intention to seek asylum—a genuine applicant shouldn't feel such extreme pressure to finding encouraging words for their visa application. Since you've already submitted your application, the best action is to wait patiently for the result. Keep in mind, even with thorough documentation, a visa application can be rejected because it is a privilege, not a right.i just return from uk last week and it my first time aboard but l can categorically say our people are hiding many fact about how they live aboard..you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free...aboard is not for me ,make l dey enjoy my small achievement for Nigeria. My life no like stress Well communicated |

deserteagl: Now I have received my parents own passports effortlessly with 5 years visa after 19 dayd only and yet not even able to schedule IW appointment for my wife's own that was applied for on the day as theirs. I have made several calls and emails but only get one liners asking me to hold on. This will definitely be helpful, I had the same experience until I did this. I found this on this platform and helped so as many people. I stumbled into this approach here and it worked for me... Hi, I believe you dissociated your dependents from your profile. You need to follow the steps below: 1. When you login into your account, confirm that the family details tile shows “0”. If yes, then you will get a date shortly. If not, go to step 2 below. 2. Call or have a live chat with CGI, let them know about dissociation of dependents from your account and how they have gotten an IW date but you have not. They will ask for some details (passport and email) and they will review your account. Once they notice the family details tile is showing a number other than zero, they will ask if every dependent had been totally removed. If you confirm that, they will escalate your case to the embassy to clear the number. You will get a new case opened and it should be resolved in a week. Finally, you will go through the process of getting a IW date and in 24hrs you should receive the email to select a date. This was was my experience and I noticed send several notes through the feedback option was a longer process. I hope it helps. Pardon any typos - using my phone. |

U need to write a very convincing email as why you feel the refusal was not justifiable and why you feel you should have been granted. Convince them that your intentions are genuine, however, be sure you are truthful. I just got my visa approved again today. Submitted last week Tuesday, got a mail yesterday and the parcel was delivered with visa stamped. |

HRprof: Hmmmm was that an appeal or just a letter ? Was it written you should appeal directly to embassy in nigeria on your refusal letter? Which year was that ? Mine was in September 2019 while my colleague was in February 2020 before Covid-19. There is no need for this back and forth, the guy involved should give it a shot. |
Travel › Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Infiosa: 10:55pm On Feb 10, 2023 |
HRprof: Almost all refusal letter in French embassy comes with right to appeal and most time is a waste of time to appeal. Appeal letter are written in French language and submitted in Nante france not in lagos . The directive Is written on the refusal letter
I was denied my first visa application in 2019 i appeal through my sponsor in France they only acknowledge receipt of the letter and did not hear from them again until reapply in 2020 I have gotten French visa twice since them. I was denied my first French visa application so as did one of my colleagues. I wrote them directly and was granted. I encouraged my colleague to do the same thing, in fact, his case was very unusual as he got a call from the embassy to come with his passport and his family. he got his visa approved and stamped right at the embassy in Ikoyi. As stated in my previous post that a very convincing email is required with genuine intentions. |
Travel › Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Infiosa: 10:46pm On Feb 10, 2023 |
HRprof: You can appeal but most often is a waste of time. Your appeal letter will be written in French language and will be submitted in Nante France not in Nigeria. You might likely not get any response, is advisable to repackage your application well and reapply . That's not true... he could write an email directly to the French embassy here in Nigeria referencing the application number and URN, and the email will be treated accordingly. I'm a living witness. The crucial part is writing a convincing appeal email with genuine intentions and the refusal will be overturned. |

mulannoire: Hello guys, please i need advice. I was recently refused a short-stay France visa and the reason was "Justification for the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not provided". I submitted everything i should have except for an itinerary for my 6-day trip. I knew that i should have included an itinerary but my sponsor convinced me it was not necessary. The refusal letter states that i may appeal. What are my chances of getting my refusal overturned? or should i make a fresh application and include the itinerary? The fact you have been given an option of an appeal, then you stand a better chance for your refusal status to be overturned, however you have to write a very convincing appeal email to the embassy email address at visas.lagos-fslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr . Give it a short as I'm a living witness. Believe me, you don't need a lawyer to pull this. |

HRprof: No mater how they digitalize the application process they will still need physical biometrics for applicants. UK have option of uploading documents online but applicants still go for biometric Biometrics doesn't have to be physical with the current advancement in digitalisation. They may not need VFS anymore if their digital process is advanced. |

MakingItFair: Yes but do you have dependents still associated from a previous application? My previous applications had long been treated and closed... this is a new application in which no dependent was associated. In fact, the part where MRV was to be added was just mine only. Except if you were referring to the appointment history? |

MakingItFair: I don't believe the email is the trouble. Rather, for IW the website states: Are any dependents associated with your profile? Please note, to schedule an interview waiver appointment, you will need to dissociate all dependents from your profile Persons with dependents appear to be rejected. Of course, I didn't associate any dependants while scheduling the IW appointment except if it has anything to do with the appointment history on my profile which I don't think it should be a problem. Though while scheduling, it was stated that it might take a maximum of 10 business days to get back with the feedback. |

ferpozie: Its more than 24 hours. I did not receive any mail. Tried the process again, and it brought 24 months questions instead of 48 monthsand information out, taking me to pick a date. I did not go ahead. Still waiting for the email. Hope the second attempt will not invalidate the first one, as I did not complete the 2nd attempt. I tried adding someone to my profile, but aid I as not eligible, so I will do the person's own separately. For the dipping off the passport, if I am outside Lagos, can I send it to the Isolo/Ikeja team by DHLor must I go physically? I have been calling their line to no avail. I need your advice on this. Thanks. I am going through similar experience as I have been waiting on their response email since last week. However I did for my wife on a separate email and she got a response to pick a date in less than 4 hours. I'm suggesting you should use a new different email. It appears old emails with many applicants linked to it in the past are having issues. |
