Hi, looks like they have changed requirement for interview waiver. It now has to be visa issued after Jan 2020 and MRV receipt bought before May 2022. Someone please confirm?
It appears they are attending to those that purchased their MRV before the 1st of May 2022... and eligibility starts with the visa issuance after January 1st, 2020.

I just need an urgent advice my people. Hubby just got scholarship in Canada and has applied for student visa which is still on process. Is it wise to apply for visa for me and our two kids so we could travel together or He should travel first then we join him later. Note.... No travel history for both of us
Either ways is good as long as he has enough funds to support his application on dependency. You are good to go if your skillset as a dependent is in demand in Canada otherwise let him go first, then he can file in your application later.

Canadian embassy takes travel history very serious, they only overlooked it when the applicant is very old....

What I have seen
Does it mean chances are low without travelling history. As a genuine applicant, what can one do to convince them without travelling history?

Your profile is good, I must be honest. Travel History is good and helpful but I was denied US visa on 3 different times even though I had been to places such UK, Ireland, France, Holland, Germany, South Africa, Dubai and few others on personal and official. However, this is what I have come to realise that with consistency and good profile, one stands a better chance. Please take your time to fill your ds 160 form, your profile is good .

If May 2021 was your future, it then speaks all about u. Well, there are still Nigerians who are doing well in ICT and Medicals. Check out and research about CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) it will give u an idea that a lot of Nigerians are making us proud both home and Diaspora.

Just so you, there is a hug difference between being reasonable factual and being annoyingly sadistic. You are always annoying with your words. Can't you raise your concerns without insults? Christmas vacation in August? Lol
Your lol is the demeaning part of your question or thoughts! I honestly do not understand your laughter about the transcript. Even without challenges of getting an appointment date, August is very good to process or interview for visas targetted for December vacations. Hello… How long did it take for Emirates to refund you, please? I’m in almost the same boat and I’m curious. Thanks a lot.
Full refund was communicated to be paid after 21 business days of flight cancellation but that option wasn't working for me because I needed to be in the US as scheduled. Then another option was some administrative charges would be deducted if I wanted refund earlier than 21 business days, so I agreed with the booking agency (Wakanow) to book another airline - Qatar Airways and I only paid additional 45k at the end. Hope this is helpful and informative.

Please who has recently travelled with a B1/B2 and what’s your POE experience
My wife and I landed at JFK on 23rd May, 2021

Me: Hi, how’ are you doing?
CBP: I’m doing good, where are you coming from?
Me: Lagos Nigeria
CBP: purpose of visit
Me: Vacation
CBP: How long are you staying for?
Me: 4 weeks and few days and I also explained why I have decided to stay for more than 4 weeks. I stated that it was my first time in the US though, I have been to most of European countries- UK inclusive and South Africa on personal and official reasons. I told the POE officer that I really want to enjoy it this first time. We both laughed.

CBP: Where will you be staying?
Me: Hotel, I mentioned the hotel's name in Manhattan and handed over the booking slip to him. He didn't actually check anything.

He asked me to remove my face mask and captured me. Then my wife's biometrics was just captured, no further questions were asked.

Hello everyone, if you are traveling to U.S, and on a B1/B2 visa, pls avoid European airlines and BA. I was turned back at the airport on my scheduled Lufthansa flight. They were only carrying citizens and permanent residents. My Plans were disrupted but thanks to Mr Seyewest. I remembered that I had read a post here on how he helped people to book ticket while being trustworthy and professional. I contacted him the next morning and he didn’t disappoint. He got me a Turkish ticket to fly that same day at a ridiculously low rate. I didn’t bother to unpack my luggage from the car, I just rested for a while and headed back to the airport.

Mr Seyewest kept checking up on me till I reached my final destination in the U.S. He relieved my stress. I will definitely contact him again for other travels. I recommend him to anyone planning same.

Thanks a lot Mr Seyewest. You really saved me from unnecessary worry. God bless you
Nice job Seyewest! I may have to contact you soon as I'm planning to travel this month via Emirates Airlines but their flight operations have been suspended in Nigeria until further notice. Though there have rumours that they may start the operation anytime soon. I'm actually hoping for a refund as the travel restrictions placed on Nigerians by the carrier is annoying.

I'm happy to have an intellectual discuss about the merits and demerits of our opinions. I do agree that tourism is a big part of global GDP but we are at a critical point of the pandemic where a little bit more patience will do us a lot more good. A lot of countries are still under some form of lockdown or the other, UK especially. Restaurants, museums, malls, concerts etc are either closed or under capacity restrictions as low as 25% such that you need reservations weeks in advance to even get in. In addition, most if not all of these countries are requiring quarantine on arrival. These are not exactly ideal conditions for tourism. My opinion is that folks should wait until they can get vaccinated before venturing out on cross border travel to mitigate the risks involved. In a few months, the US will have vaccination available to all those who want it and it should be available in Nigerian too. Having said that, think of this. If you know that someone else's perfectly legal action can potentially result in deadly harm to your person, up to and including death, wouldn't the justification for that persons action be trivial to you no matter what it is? This is the perspective from which my position stands.
Your point of view stands valid and well presented,in fact it has never been disputed. U will honestly agree with me that there is a hug discrepancies between your point of view and the stupid mumu who commented "Nigerians sha". Having said the above, people will definitely want to travel for different genuine reasons that may not wait. Authorities would have thought it through before they came up with travel exemptions because there will always be a reason for crossing border travelling.

Going through your antecedents on this platform, you are not worthy of my attention. You are so controversial and full of negativity. And you sir cannot fathom the simple logic behind our reasoning. During a global pandemic, the tried and true way of shutting down the spread of the virus is by stopping cross border travel until things are under control. Whatever the reason for travel, the health and safety of citizens should be paramount. This is the perspective from which we speak. Some ask what is our business? It is everybody's business including the tomato and pepper seller in Mushin who has never seen the airport because one and more people that brought the virus has resulted in the deaths of many in this country. You say simply because there is an epidemic? That is the understatement of the century! Millions have died around the globe. Life may be cheap in Nigeria but not all of us have a lackadaisical attitude towards it. The virus is already here, but there are several more potent variants in other countries that will be brought to Nigeria and cause further havoc if we do not take precautions.

Up until now, there are no rules expressly forbidding travel to the US but the appeal is that potential travelers should limit it to essential travel and use good judgement in determining what falls in that category. In my humble opinion, vacations, conferences, short family visits do not fall in that category. All of these can wait until safer times, especially since there are numerous virtual alternatives. This is not the official position of the US State Department, just my humble opinion which I am expresssly entitled to. The issue here is that a couple of us have expressed a contrary opinion that rings true and is not in agreement with the prevailing positions here. Take it or leave it, but there is absolutely no need to resort to insults and innuendos.
Your opinion is absolutely intellectual not opinionated and I may want to have further intellectual discussion with you. Do u know that tourism and hospitality accounts for 10.4% of global GDP and billion of livelihoods depend wholly on this sector. Dubai opens its borders for tourism and UK will soon join in the race as a service country once her projection to vaccinate 40 millions of her populace by March ending. In my humble opinion, cross border restriction isn't the solution. Pandemic is a new reality and precautions have been set in place to live with it.

One of your repulsive comments clearly stated that I should not use vacation for an excuse for illegal immigration intent - abi kini meaning JAPA? So I needed to clear your myopic thinking. You just got a simple explanation you requested for and you have taken it as being boastful. It's obvious you just jumped into a conversation without a thought. TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Infiosa:
Kettlecorn:
At the risk of being attacked, let me say something in support of your valid school of thought. In the midst of a global pandemic, simple logic discourages traveling across borders. This virus started in China. How did it get to the U.S. where almost 500 thousand people have died? Same way it got to Nigeria where we can't even remotely tell how many people have died so far. Cross border travel is the mode of transmission from one country to the other and common sense dictates that it should be discouraged until the pandemic is under control. Saying this does not detract from this thread. In fact, I think you are doing a positive public service and I salute you for speaking up and jogging people's thoughts. I am not surprised you have been attacked, as the echo chamber in here cannot fathom any opinion contrary to the prevailing school of thought.
Very valid position, the pandemic started from cross border transmission and the authorities involved felt total lockdown was an ideal way to mitigate against the spread but it didn't work. The pandemic is a new reality and concerned authorities have decided to set in to place precautions to live with it. Economies can't be locked down for so long as its impact will also be catastrophic and more pandemic. So if critically and logically analysed, what is presumed to be common sense from your perspective might not be generally acceptable. Just so you know, most people I know would not have wanted to travel if they had their way but livelihoods had necessitated the need for it. So travelling during pandemic is not only a Nigerian thing but global. However if his comment was presented to attract intellectual discussion, nobody would have said otherwise. This is a platform to unlearn and learn, moreover this is travel platform like someone has rightly said.
