I was granted a B type US visa today together with my wife. In my opinion, travelling history is one of the key factors for a successful US visa application. The filling of DS 160 form is very key. Good news! From 1st of July, you don't need to book appointment before you can submit your visa application at VFS. All you need to do is get your papers, walk in and submit.

The VAC has turned introduction of prior online appointments into exploitation! I saw how people without appointments were ushered in through the backdoor and they were charged extra costs. I can categorically say that appointment dates were international left closed because of VAC' s exploitative ambition.

If you intend travelling to uk in December, 2019... you should only apply 3 months before that is in September 2019... anything earlier than 3 months before intended travel date is not acceptable

I totally disagree with that...my travelling date in September and I applied in March. The Visa was granted in April. Though the Visa validity starts in June 26 and ends in December 26. If we are not sure of certain information, let's advise as a form of suggestions. This platform is trusted and uncertainty of information will not be appreciated.

Not the end of the world but never allow the agent to add any document that is not from you and never allow him to misrepresent..e.g false info or exaggerate info so as to afford 10yrs ban.

You need to know every single info and document in that application form...if you are not clear come back here to ask.

Well spoken... my brother in law is a victim of misrepresentation by the so-called agents and he is currently facing a penalty of 10 years ban. Trust me, most of the so-called agents don't know as much as you do if you follow through with this platform. it has every information required for a successful visa application process. What's my offence? Did I say the refusal was mine? I felt the only way I could get response to why that application was refused was to call the owner of the refusal notice a friend. Maybe I should have addressed the applicant as an enemy. The reason was for me to understand open source independent verification used by the UK embassy. @seeyat, you had to open a new account on nairaland, why? Did your former account expire? Please respond to this your new account creation. @Justwise you can also respond to the open source independent verification issue if you have an idea because I just checked GGK global Limited on cac website. The company is actually a registered one her in Nigeria. Other people might also be interested in this. The UK embassy cannot just be collecting our money without issuing visas to people.

A lot is your offense in this matter! U don't share people's information without their consents and you still don't feel remorseful about it. How would UKVI grant you visa with such an unlawful act? This is a typical misrepresentation your likes have subjected the country to. This is so criminal and a lawsuit can be press charged against you. This is a great platform where genuine information is shared to help others. The owner is not your friend and he/she can decide to be an enemy for this singular act. The fact that you are not remorseful pisses my gut!

So i applied for a visitor visa in and got the denial letter last week.I was surprised seeing as i have visited the the USA,Tanzania,South Africa(official), UAE in the last 5 years. My last UK visa expired unused in 2012 and my financial circumstance has greatly improved since i last applied almost 10 years ago.

Denial Reason - we cant determine your salary or if you pay taxes based on the info you provided. In addition, you had some unexplained deposits which may have been used to inflate your a/c (i did no such thing, they were probably referring to my bonus). I wonder why its difficult to determine my pay especially since i submitted my official salary a/c bank statement with my monthly salary credits (i work in a bank), 2 other bank statements, Payslips for 1 year, Letter from my Employer stating my annual salary and level, proof of investments etc

Anyway, my question for the gurus; how soon can i reapply since i'm not allowed to appeal or have an admin review. what other options do i have? like getting an lawyer bla bla

Nothing really to worry about as your own situation is straight forward. All UKVI needs from you is clear explanation of the deposits listed for the denial. I had similar issues with a friend I was travelling with last year. She was denied for unexplained deposits that seemed unusual in her account. I encouraged her to apply immediately and give detailed explanation on each transaction deposit raised as a reason for her denial. She did as advised and was granted a visa in less than 2 weeks. Based on your story here, you have a very straightforward case and you will be granted with good explanation. However you can apply immediately. Best of luck

It can if you not lucky enough... a mistake in company's introductory letter caused one of colleagues ' Visa denial. It's better to rectify if noticed before it gets to them. I will once again advise you to cancel your appointment and request for refund. Then start a fresh application.

Please leave no stone unturned! Your little mistake might be seen as an oversight if you are lucky enough but if you are not, it could be used as a reason for denial. I made mistakes on two different applications during mine and I had to cancel the appointments and I was refunded exactly one month later. I did fresh application while I was cancelling the other applications with mistakes. Refu ds and decision came out the same week and it was all positive. I will advise u to cancel the appointment and wait for refund , u can also start a fresh application at the same time. Then u wont be thinking of your little mistake while waiting on decision. Justwise, I'm so confused right now. I just left TLS office and my application isn't ready yet. I was told that i have to contact them,that I'm still going to receive another email saying decision has been made. They said it might be with UK embassy in VI and they will be the one to send my application to them. Infact, a lady came there too for the same issue and her own is 5 weeks.so if i don't contact them they will not release my passport back or what. Cos i don't get it.

This is a misinformation ! I didn't receive a mail that says decision has been made, I was rather sent a dispatched email as shown below.

Dear XXXXX,

Your UK visa application has been despatched from the UK Visa Section.

If you are applying from Europe, North & West Africa and GCC countries:

- And you submitted your application at a visa application centre - You will receive an email shortly from TLS or VFS about collecting your decision. Please ensure you check your e-mail account and do not attend the VAC until you are advised to...

I'm sorry about your case. I think u need to be patient and prayerful at this juncture because I can see on the thread that you have explored all the possible means to retrieve your documents. I will keep in touch if I see other possibilities. Good luck !

At the point of entry, you are likely to be questioned by the immigration, why applying as a couple if only one of you will be using the visa?

That questioning is expected and he should be prepared for a thorough and extensive interrogation and a reasonable answer should be provided. A colleague was seated for three hours at the point of entry for interrogation because he travelled without his wife as opposed what was in their application. And he was a first timer. It would definitely raise a suspicion as Justwise has advised. However if he is ready for the interrogation, he can go with his wishes. Best of luck.

As for the all applications, u can use a single email account for all the applications. Different URL link will be sent to the email address once you are done with each application. You can use a single email address but different password for each application for differentiation. However , as for the appointment as a family, the question was raised sometime last week and it has been addressed. You can check my previous posts on this thread for an answer. Best of luck.

I applied with wiffy for visa renewal at Ikeja VAC on April 5th 2019( Walk in).Up till date no single email from either UKVI or VAC about the application; not even the generic mails.Tracking through the TLS site shows application received at the DMC....Today makes 11th working days excluding holidays.Is it normal not to receive email from them atleast the one saying your application has been sent or received or in progress or something........this is somehow to me

A lot has changed with their processing. I only got TLS email stating that my application has been forwarded to UKVI on day application submission, no single mail received afterwards until the dispatched email from the UKVI on the 17th day of application submission. No need for panicking, u should be expecting dispatched mail from the UKVI. Check your application status on your profile with TLScontact site, at least to be sure that your application has been sent to UKVI. Best of luck bro.

It depends on how your approach. In all our Visa applications, my wife has always been a dependant and she has never submitted any financial evidence to support our applications. It has always been my Pay slips, statements of account -salary account only and evidence of my employment. However, it's always stated that she is a stay at home mom. It has never for once been raised as an issue even when we were denied Irish visas and later granted after the appeal. I will say that each application is treated with their uniqueness. Within the context of my experience with UK visit Visa, good and genuine documentation is the answer to Visa being granted. Best of luck.

I thought the same way too that our passports are with TLS, because if there's any issue on our application UKVS would have notified us by saying our application isn't straight forward or something. Seriously, I thought that's how UK do their stuff because this is my first time of applying. I want to call UKVS first before i know the steps to take on it. I'm worried and unhappy cos i don't know what's in there,even my daughter have been asking me mummy aren't we going to UK again. Anyway, thank you so much for contribution and advice. Eyah, I understand exactly how it feels with children. My children would have done the same too. Just as Justwise has advised, you have to keep pestering TLS till an update is provided. I saw some people creating scenes when I went for collection. All the Visa application centres are Indian companies, so what difference does it make ? They are not any better as it still feels pretty much as if it's being operated by Nigerian companies. You might need the same approach by creating a bit of scene, best of luck. Please tell the little one to take it easy. She will definitely go to the UK.

Can someone please help out. I've been trying to upload my documents on the edossier app. I discovered that after uploading a number of documents the uploads disappear before I finish the upload and submit. This has made me to have to re-upload all over again, it has happened twice now. My submission date is on the 24th and there's a notice to ensure all documents are uploaded 24 hours before. Has anyone else experienced this disappearing uploads and how can I resolve it please?

Please don't submit if all your documents are not uploaded. Are you using a PC or a mobile phone?

It's not enough reason to have your application delayed this long. Whatever the reason for denial would be spelled out in the refusal letter that's if you are denied. We can't be sure what the decision would be, however this is totally strange. I think u should pester TLS because UKVI would have been sure that your parcel has been dispatched before sending an email notifying you about the despatch. I'm sorry for saying this, I suspect something fishy with TLS. My experience with VAC Lekki on my Irish Visa application was not palatable when my daughter's birth certificate was lost in transit. And it was eventually used against me as one of the reasons for my denial- stating that I didn't submit my daughter's original birth cert. Hmmmm, I took it up with VAC and embassy and I was eventually asked to appeal even though I was reluctant because I didn't intend to visit anymore due to limited time. And I was granted in less than 2 days after I submitted the appeal. I think u need to pester the TLS...

My sister and her son submitted on 26th March at the submission centre at adeogun ajose..VI has also been dispatched by the courier this afternoon , Hopefully she gets the parcel tomao morning.

U don't have to go with any documents however documents will not be accepted from you at TLScontact if u have chosen self service. Please ensure all the supporting documents are uploaded , reviewed and submitted before or on the appointment dates. A lot of people were asked to reschedule another appointment dates because they realised one or two documents were not submitted. I saw an elderly woman who was willing to pay extra to upload her account statements but she was asked to schedule for another appointment date. I felt her pain that day as she was helpless. Please ensure all the necessary supporting documents are uploaded and reviewed before submission as strongly advised on the website. I did self service too and it was quick and fast during submission as the need for sorting documents has been avoided. I hope this is informative enough.

@Infiosa lolz, u wont blv she studied in UK and has travelled twice too. Hence her anger why they keep doing such despite her travel history with the UK...Its really annoying thou when home office do such especially when its genuine docs u submitted.

@Justwise my sis inlaw picked her p.port today and she was refused again ooh. Second time, first was she omitting her naira salary account...and then she did submitted her statement and her dorm acc statement too if you recall i mentioned it to you. So now she is so confused what the ECO wants this time around. Please help look into the refusal letter. Pls is the issue with her hubbys statement or hers cos she submitted her hubbys personal savings account with her own statements.

I'm sorry about your sister's Visa refusal. One of my colleagues got his first ever UK Visa on his fourth attempt despite the genuineness of his documentation. It started with money lodgement then date of birth discrepancies on birth certificate and passport. It could be frustrating but he took his time to correct error pointed against the next application. In the last 2 years he has been granted UK Visa 3 different times. Read through the refusal letter thoroughly and provide detailed information and concrete evidence in your next application. UK Visa application is a lot better once you can prove strong tie back home. I wish her best of luck next time as God's factor is equally important

Please I was issued 6 months UK VISA last year and I only stayed 2 weeks. It was actually a conference and I stayed back to catch some fun after the conference.

Now I want to apply as a tourist not to attend conference and I intend applying for 2 years.

Please what would you advise should I still maintain 6 months of I should go for 2 years?

You can apply for either 6 months or 2 years , even 5 years, as long as your documentation is genuinely convincing.
