Decided to share this here to help someone. Finished filling and submission of my DS160 June 23rd. Paid MRV June 24th and went on to book appointment but only saw dates in 2024 and no date for Interview Waiver which I qualified. Was checking the apointment portal regularly but was getting no appointment available IW. Then I read somewhere here that IW dates will be available from 1st November and so Iput in my calender to check on that date. It was a long wait from August or so. 1st November, I logged on still no date but it took me to click something that i guessed sent an email to them. 10th November(a Thursday), got an email that I should log into my appointment portal and book appointment. But two days only 14th and 15th November available. No other dates was available 2022 and even 2023. Booked 14th, which was a Monday for 12noon.
On the appointment day, I raised to Walter Carringhton and was waiting for my 12noon slot. 11:45am, I approached the security at Walter Carringthon and was scanned, and got through to a Long table. Then the next big news was released, "You are to do your submission at DHL Office, 75 Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, they are waiting for you" Just picked my envelope and head up to Ikeja. Got there at the nick of time as it was almost 1pm and collection stops 1pm. Dropped it successfully and head back to base.
On 18th November," Your document(s) have been collected from the US Embassy/Consulate" in my mailbox and was repeated on 20th. It was not clear to me and so I went to document pick up location. Behold my passport is back and -----------it was approved! Follow me Thank God ooo.
What is the learning here ; patience is key, decisions already made based on your DS160 among other things and lastly Baba God is involved.

For others who might not understand this is how it looks like but the appointment confirmation page must be presented at the Dhl drop off center which is either Ikeja or Isolo . No other place is allowed in lagos

So even if the date of appointment is in 2023, we need to go and submit the appointment and the passports immediately? Can we send through DHL or we need to appear physically?

No, you will have to go on the appointment date with ur passport and expired visa. If you and your family have the same date one adult can go and submit on the said date.
But most especially you will go to the DHL office to drop your passport on your appointment date.

Its more than 24 hours. I did not receive any mail. Tried the process again, and it brought 24 months questions instead of 48 monthsand information out, taking me to pick a date. I did not go ahead. Still waiting for the email. Hope the second attempt will not invalidate the first one, as I did not complete the 2nd attempt. I tried adding someone to my profile, but aid I as not eligible, so I will do the person's own separately. For the dipping off the passport, if I am outside Lagos, can I send it to the Isolo/Ikeja team by DHLor must I go physically? I have been calling their line to no avail. I need your advice on this. Thanks.

Thanks, I did mine, I think 3 am yesterday, but I have not received any email for the dropbox. I saw that I would receive a message if dropbox is approved. Is there an email I can reach to have support on this check for me? Their lines have not been going through yesterday alone. Can one person drop for multiple family members?

Just wait . I did for my mom and got the email 2 days later , my stepdad on Tuesday at about 6pm my time . woke up Wednesday around 7am and got the email .

I am going through similar experience as I have been waiting on their response email since last week. However I did for my wife on a separate email and she got a response to pick a date in less than 4 hours. I'm suggesting you should use a new different email. It appears old emails with many applicants linked to it in the past are having issues.

I don't believe the email is the trouble. Rather, for IW the website states: Are any dependents associated with your profile? Please note, to schedule an interview waiver appointment, you will need to dissociate all dependents from your profile Persons with dependents appear to be rejected.

It appears that Abuja is opening a small number of dropbox opportunities every day. Just to note, from the way they seem to be managing their appointments, it appears that everyone has an equal chance to obtain an appointment whether they use a visa agent or not. In short I would encourage you to save your money and to make your own appointment without using an agent if you qualify for Abuja's interview waiver.

Just to add to the above post...

when applying for Interview Waiver (dropbox), dissociate all dependents from your profile first, it has to be one applicant per request. The new system gives everyone an equal chance to get an appointment, whether they use a visa agent or not.
