Following the trending news that a Nigerian woman committed suicide by jumping into the Lagoon last weekend, an assumed photo of the said woman has been making wave online.

Following the death of Ukeleke Onwubuya, Nigerian reggae star, who was professionally known as Ras Kimono died 2days, sparking sad reactions from around Nigeria.


New details have emerged that some of the things that happened during his final moments.

Based on Punch Metro, it was gathered that the dreadlocked musician had slumped at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while waiting to board a flight to the United States, on Saturday night.

As per sources close to him, Kimono was immediately rushed to an unnamed hospital in Ikeja and then taken to another hospital on Lagos Island where he later died on Sunday morning.

The death of the artiste, who was a native of Onicha Olona in the Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State and who recently clocked 60, was confirmed by the President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, Pretty Okafor and the Chairman of the Copyright Society of Nigeria, Chief Tony Okoroji.

The event has since thrown members of the Nigerian music and culture community into deep mourning.

Tiwa Savage took to her Instagram page to disclosed that one of her record Tiwa’s Vibe has been banned on local stations.

Early hours of the day (June 9th, 2018), Tiwa Savage broke the news of the ban via Instastory posts. The Mavin Records First Lady claimed the song was banned because she mentioned ‘shayo,’ which means alcohol, on the song which she released sometime in May 2018.

Tiwa Savage show how disappointed she was at the ban with a teary smiley. In a different post, she questioned the logic behind the ban. The post read, “but alcohol is legal right?”

Tiwa’s question is one that has become a necessity considering the rate at which music materials are getting banned in the country, especially in recent times, for debatable reasons. It is expected that the authority that decides which material is fit for broadcast in the country would come out to make a statement on the ban like it did in the past.

A commercial bus driver has been sentenced to a year in prison for stabbing an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

Kenneth Anyanwu stabbed Olanrewaju Yusuf with a broken bottle in accordance to disagreement on April 26, 2018.

Yusuf, a LASTMA official, attempted to arrest Anyanwu for picking passengers at undesignated bus stops between Obanikoro and Palm Grove in Lagos, but Anyanwu resisted arrest, then he picked up a broken bottle and stabbed Yusuf in the palm.

He was sentenced by a Lagos State Mobile Court sitting in Oshodi. Magistrate F.O. Ikobayo convicted Anyanwu after he pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of assault and breach of peace. She sentenced him to one-year imprisonment or a fine of N50,000. The magistrate also ordered the convict to pay N80,000 for Yusuf’s medical bills.
