Senator Dino Melaye has released a brief statement on his abduction on Thursday morning.
Melaye was reportedly kidnapped on his way to Kogi state from Abuja. This development was confirmed by his friend and fellow senator, Ben Murray Bruce.
In a statement on Twitter on Friday morning, Melaye wrote;
I thank God once again for escaping another dangerous attack. I also thank Nigerians for their prayers and show of Love. Spent 11 hours in the wilderness traumatized but God preserved me. God is the best and in whom ONLY I trust. They will continue to try. WE SHALL OVERCOME!!!

Amagite: Super Eagles goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, has confirmed his retirement from football.
The 32-year-old announced the news to his Wolverhampton Wanderers teammates, before a training session at Compton on Tuesday morning.
Ikeme took the decision, after consulting with medical experts, following his 12-month battle with acute leukaemia.
Last month, Ikeme announced on Twitter, that he was in complete remission from the disease, after “a tough year and intense chemotherapy”.
The goalkeeper has 10 caps for Nigeria and made 274 career appearances in all competitions, with over 200 of them coming for Wolves.
"After advice from the doctors I have taken the decision to retire. It’s not a sad day for me but one to look back with fondness and joy for being able to live my dream . I just want to thank everyone at @wolves for there support over the years. We have rode the good and bad times together , an I’m great-full to of been apart of the clubs history. I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone again soon and being back around the club and city !! Thank You!!! ◼️❤️" he wrote on his Instagram page.

The entire Benue state assembly premises was taken over by security personnel(Police officers) who barred members from reconvening to deliberate on issues of urgent state importance earlier today.
PoliticsNGR learnt that Ad hoc committee chairman on publicity Rt.Hon. Paul Biam said no cogent reason had been given by the most senior security personnel as to why the assembly was besieged by the security except that he had superior orders from above to take charge.
Hon. Biam maintained that as law-abiding citizens they would not resort to resisting the security but rather search for an alternative venue to meet as they were duty bound by the constitution to sit at any location to do their legislative business.
While the recently impeached speaker Terkimbi Ikyange still maintains he remains speaker the ad hoc committee chairman on publicity said the issue of the dissolution of the assembly's previous leadership is certainly not in contention.
On the twenty-fourth of July, a vote of no confidence was passed on the previous leadership which led to their dissolution in which new leaders were elected.

They want things to quieten down before defecting. No point overheating the polity when with strategic planning you can get your plan to work seamlessly.
Did you watch the last plenary when the ex majority leader Lawal was being caricatured by his colleagues as he argued in vain to stop the defection?
The senators are deceiving Buhari who appears not quite quick on the uptake...
Kwakwanso rubbished him by defecting the following day after having a supposed reconciliation meeting with Buhari...
Buhari can't learn... gullibility when will they defect and not heat up the polity? this is just their normal political calculation, go get sense pols |
