hello guys. been a while since i was on here. anyways i just got info from a friend that the processing time for canadian visa from nigeria is now about 6 months. i don't understand if thats true. and i checked the cic website and saw 31 weeks!!! am i mistaken or what? i know that when i applied at oregun, it was processed from ghana. and i can see from the cic website that ghanian processing time is 8 weeks. here is the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/students.asp

People of God, abeg i have one question...i intend to sponsor myself fully as i have the means. Is it still necessary to involve another sponsor say an Uncle or brother? Just wondering if having an additional sponsor except self will convince the VO
IMO, yes.

@ inkblood. Call the grad secretary of your dept and ask about the status of the pre app. Usually the pre app is processed first and then the dept would have gone thru all your soft copies of credentials you had sent to them. They will then get back to u. requesting u to fill the online app and send all ur original transcripts from ur uni in nigeria along with references and all.
good suggestion. thanks. i will call them to find out the status of the application.. however, that is no guarantee that they will give me the admission at all, so i still need to look out for a second application. any schools will be very appreciated.

hello guys. please i need help on getting a course. my initial application was rejected for some reasons which i am trying to tackle. one of those reasons was my course. i have a beng in electrical engineering, and i applied for graduate certificate in projects management. now i want to get admission in electrical engineering and its seeming impossible. i have a 2"2 so cant do masters, i have to apply for a pgd in electrical engineering. however despite all the search i have been doing for about 7 weeks now, i could only find one school that does pgd in electrical engineering(i dont know if i am doing it wrong), and that is uni of saskatchewan. i applied with their prequalilfication form and havent heard from them for over 6 weeks now. what i need is to know a school that does pgd in electrical engineering so i can apply before i run out of time as most schools seem to be ending application in march. i would really appreciate any help please. i have checked so many schools, even used that university finder. only seen saskatchewan so far. any info that could be helpful please. thanks guys.

BOSS, are you sure the MUN accepts second class lower? i think you should confirm before spending your money. because generally canadian universities don't

Gurus please there is something bothering me which I need experienced people to shed more light into. My question is does age really affect someone apply for TRV with a diploma admission letter. Because I have a cousin who has just been denied but d only reason they ticked is purpose of visit and he is 29 yrs old.please I need someone who's got experience in the kind of situation... Oga Siga abeg and some other people already in Canada.
okay i am not a guru, but i think they will deny him visa if the diploma course he is going for is less than the certificate he already has. he will look desperate. if for example he has a bachelors, and is going for an ordinary diploma and not a pgd, he will look desperate.

Thank Onyeoma, I want to ask if anyone has used photocopies of such documents and got visa approval. Also what are certified true copies ?
the certified true copy is a verified, high quality, colored photocopy of your original documents. the verification is done at a high court. you take the colored photocopies and the original(though this might not be really need, but just take it there) to the court and ask around. they will stamp each of the colored photocopies to state that it is the same with the original. i was charged N1500 bucks for like 8 documents, but i went through some hustler at the court. so beware and tell them you know it is 50naira per page. that should help your cost.

I think you still have enough time to refire, and you have been given enough clue as on how you can arrange your sop. I want to believe that with a well explained sop and faith in God through prayer you can still get the rev for the May admission instead of deferring again.
please, can i still get may admission now too? for pgd? how do i apply and what school? i have been on google for the past 48 hours. cc opsynusy

What program do you intend taking... Check Selkirk college and college of North Atlantic, they have tuition of less than 10k...
thank you very much. i will check it right now. i read electrical/electronics engineering, so i would like to do a pgd then masters in something related. cant be too picky now can i? but i am specifically looking for may admissions. i will check this college and get back to you. thanks a lot.

Please and please, people, just reading throught the thread now and it seems I'm not the only one going for pgd first. Please can anybody assist with a search for schools? The school I had in my previous application was a bit expensive. About $15000, although it was 1year. Went ahead with it as I did not have enough time then. Well now seeing as I am looking at september, I won't mind something cheaper. And if it is possible to get admission for may that would be the best. Help would be highly appreciated as I have been googling all day and can find anything reasonable. Thanks in advance.

Hey Everyone, any suggestions on how much passport is made now and how long it takes to get it? Secondly Advise on All dis Agencies who sort for schools 4 people especially those wanting Msc or Pgds...pls ur replies will be appreciated asap...thanks and Godbless y'll
the standard price for international passport is 13k. and it takes about 2 weeks to get ready. however, being naija, you can cut corners instead with anywhere around 16-20k depending on your bargaining power to get the passport same day.

If you are working, you are meant to provide pay slips, if you have a business u provide company registration documents... CAC is corporate affairs commission, the Nigerian body dat registers companies.
wow. i didnt provide any of that. and i do not have any businesses. well i am no longer working, so how do i go about it?

i dont understand this pm thing oo. i can see you sent me a mail but i cant seem to open it on here. i guess i have to check my email box itself? will do that and get back to you.

chuckie414:
Hello bro,did they email you to and come and pick your documents up at their office in lagos or you just went straight to collect if after you tracked it and u saw that its been dispatched from ghana?...were you notified to come and collect your documents?
no. they did not call me. as soon as i tracked on the morning of 9th, and saw that the document had been returned on the 8th, i called their helpline, found the number on their website, and the person i spoke to said that means the documents are available for pickup. i immediately went to pick it up.

Anugoson:
Ur statement of account is ok! Ur intended course of study is it related to ur work experience?
yes sir. it was. i cant get this pm thing going, i will pm you as soon as i figure it out.

@anugoson. thank you very much. i will pm you right away. i used two accounts. my gtb had 7m+ genuine. and my first bank had 7m+ too(this was arranged by my agent). so it was a total of about 14m+ that was used.

The almighty personal assets and financial status was not ticked. Cool. Tackling the above stated reasons, is not difficult. Travel history to me, is just a formality.
For hometie, u can use ur work too...
length of proposed stay, ought to be on ur acceptance letter. For job prospects, u havent convinced the v.o how marketable ur course if study is...

I will suggest u pay more attention here(the thread)... it is something u can do easily. Agents do guess work. grin... when did you apply?

God ain't sleeping
i applied october 27. and from the cic page my document was returned on 08 december.
