TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by Inkblood: 1:33pm On Nov 07, 2020
Hi all. i have a bit of a problem and i hope that someone can advise me. i just recently received ITA and i am working on submitting my application. i had previously applied for a student visa to canada in 2014 and 2015. the problem is that, when i applied those times, it was with the help of an agent. at the time, the agent told me that i would have to submit the birth certificates of all my listed siblings, and as i could only find the birth certificate of only one of my siblings, he suggested that i claimed only 1 sibling in the application, whereas i have 3. i wasnt aware of the damage until the second time around, in 2015, when i read the form properly. my question now is that, while applying for this EE can i put my actual no. of siblings. as this will be a discrepancy, or is it advisable to stick to just 1 sibling to avoid any problems. thanks in advance
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Inkblood: 4:46pm On Nov 20, 2019
hello guys.. and congrats to those who have gotten their visas.

i was on this thread, part 3 i believe, in 2016. but later gave up on travelling altogether after i got a rejection from canada. i have just again made up my mind to leave naija by 2020. and i have been reading through this thread. i noticed however that most of the posts (so far as i have read) talk about MSC applicants, so i am going to ask some questions because i intend going for a BSC. (i am currently 28, i have a 3rd class in geology from Uniben, with no relevant work experience-- have been getting by with teaching jobs-- and i understand that my chances for an MSC in germany are slim to none.)

on going through this thread, i realize that most people when applying for their MSC admissions also apply for a BSC as a back up. i understand that you need a 100L transcript as well to apply for a BSC in germany but here are my questions which i cannot seem to get the answers.

1) how many years is a BSC program in germany? (i understand that the MSC is two years). also, since a 100L transcript is required, does this mean that i could start say, from 200L when i get to germany ? some sort of direct entry wink

2) i understand that for the MSC program you would have to put about 4m in a block account, and i have seen that some people doing MSC are able to pay for their second year tuition with money they saved while working during their first year. how does this go for the BSC candidates? do i need more than 4m? and what are the chances that, while doing an undergraduate course, i will be able to get a job which can finance the rest of my studies.

3) i understand, again, that for the MSC intakes there are two admission windows per year. is it the same for the BSC? if so when is the first admission window for 2020?

4) i want to start learning german from next month, december, even though i would be going for a program taught in english preferrably. is it possible to have sufficient german speaking skills by the next admission window? i have heard that german is a difficult language!

5) lastly, as much as i am ready to give my all. having recognized some of my mistakes in my first degree in nigeria here. i am a bit scared that i might not be able to 'succeed' in certain competitive courses, like the geology which i did my first degree in, maybe i am not just cut out for sciency courses like that. i was thinking, since i am going for a fresh start, to go for computer science, but i am hearing that that course is as difficult if not worse. i know this might sound silly, but what are the not-so-difficult courses that i could look at?

Each response will be highly appreciated. thank you as i continue to go through the rest of this thread to catch up.
Christianity EtcRe: Who Created God? - An Invalid Question by Inkblood: 9:49am On Sep 03, 2017
Nice post. But I love how you categorically stated that there is 'no observable evidence' for the multiverse theory. that logic alone could have saved you writing the whole of this thread? As all that you asserted; from existence of God to his timelessness falls in the same category of speculation. There is not a single observable evidence. Christians try to play the atheist game of critical reasoning but somehow expect their doctrines and beliefs not to be held to such logical standards.

sometimes the class isn't the problem, but the actual grade. I see no reason y u should mention ur friend here. Anyone can finish with a 3rd class
hi and thanks for the reply. what do you mean actual grade? 3rd class here in nigeria starts from below 2.5 i think. well he hasn't gotten his transcript yet so doesn't know the actual grade yet. and well, you're correct anybody can finish with third class.

hi guys. i just need some quick answers before i can start doing the actual research. my friend just graduated with a 3rd class, and is bent on forwarding his education abroad. he has germany, norway and finland in mind. is it possible to get Msc admission in germany with a 3rdie? he has no problem writing IELTS AND GRE if need be. he is still trying to make up his mind what country to go, and is still putting other things such as cost into consideration before the actual research and visa processing begins. thank u.

HealthHip Replacement Surgery, Nigeria Or India? by Inkblood(op): 1:50pm On Jan 18, 2016
hello guys, my father is a lower right leg amputee and he had his amputation done in late 2013 at the national orthopaedic hospital. he has been using a prosthetic leg but in late 2015 he had a terrible fall and had severe pains in his hip, on that right leg which he uses the prosthesis on, immobilizing him and when we went back to the hospital we were told he had a fracture in his hip and it would require a partial hip replacement surgery. sadly, the doctor wasnt feeling chatty and did not tell us much about this hip replacement surgery just the cost(about 200k) and managed to tell us, when he saw my dad wasnt pleased with this option, that there was a total hip replacement option available if we had enough money for it(over a million). although the doctor suggested that he would be able to still make use of the prosthesis after the surgery, my dad has been very skeptical about the whole thing, which led me to talk to him about considering going to india for the procedure. before going to google hospitals in india and all that i decided to ask you guys some questions first if anyone knows how successful the operation procedure is here in nigeria and if there is really any need to consider going to india for it, as it would be the first time he is going there. also i reckon the hip replacement surgery is quite common but if anyone knows of any amputees that have had it done and still uses their prosthesis as i imagine it might not be uncommon for amputees to have this procedure done. thank you very much for your help guys.

hello NL brethren. i am new here and actually from the canada thread. i was denied twice and my friend in the US suggested i try applying to the US. although i would have thought that the US would be much more stricter than canada he thinks its worth giving it a try. i have a 2.6 GPA(which seems to be my hindering block from getting good admissions in canada) in Elect/Elect Eng. and i know the basics that i would have to write GRE and TOEFL, trying to arrange those. but i am still generally clueless even though i will eventually read through this thread to know more. please when do sessions begin? is it january, may and september like canny? thanks
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Inkblood: 9:55am On Nov 22, 2015
hi guys. facing my second denial i am really contemplating. is it possible that the VOs are biased against college applicants as opposed to university applicants? and can one with a gpa of 2.6 get a program in a university? thanks in advance.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Inkblood: 10:48am On Nov 16, 2015
hi guys, was denied a second time.. was baffled to see that the reasons were exactly the same reasons as my first denial. travel history, purpose of visit, family ties in canada, employment and one or two others can't remember. i went the paper route, and i think i did everything i could have possibly done on that second application. it took sep 15 till nov 6 for the decision. a little upset to be honest, but what can man do? big congrats to all the peeps getting their's.

1. Black and white is perfect, as long as it is clear.

2. Not sure you need that passport, except for visa pages on his passport. If not, birth certificate is better. You may as well include (recent and old) photographs (I think u'll submit just photocopy of this too).

3. No it's not a terrible move. You're fine with just the letter. Parent sponsorship carries a lot of weight, so u dont have to notarize the doc.

4. Since you're sure it is very legible, then it's fine. But you may consider using size 12/13. There's no restriction/limit to the number of pages for SoP/LoE.

5. The forms are TRV application, Study Permit Application, Family information and Study permit questionnaire. The first three are to be filled on PC, Validated and printed, while the last one is to be filled with INK (it's on the last 2 pages of the study permit guide).

Vfs VAC is at Manor Building, third-roundabout, Lekki Phase 1.
Start counting the roundabouts from lekki toll gate, alight at the 3rd roundabout, cross the road to the other side and walk into the estate, and u should see the building (Manor house) on your left.

I wish you Good luck.
thank you so much!!! this helped immensely. submitted my application, now its the waiting game
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Inkblood:
Hi guys.. I'm finally ready to make my application tomorrow. After considering all the wahala with pdf file compression for online I've decided to go the paper route and I have some questions as I'm going there tomorrow.

1) are black and white photocopies acceptable? My printer has run out of color ink so I had to do black and white photocopies of all my docs. My previous app it was all colored

2) to prove my dad identity I used his international passport which is expired, should I take this out and use his voters card instead?

3) none of my documents are notarized. . Or certified. my dad as my cosponsor o just typed and printed a declaration and he signed it. . Is this a terrible move?

4) I used a font siZe of 10 on my sop Because 11 made it enter 3 pages. It's still very legible but I just want to know if this is not advisable.

5) what are the exact IMM forms that in required to fill. I heard they Added some new ones
Please can I get the address of the vfs or embassy where I'm to submit my application?

Thank you guys for all the help as always

With less than 40 pages, you should definitely be able to fit it all your proof of funds documents in a single 4MB document.

But you gast play with your scanner settings and experiment with different image/pdf compression algorithms. In the worst case, just scan using black&white (not grayscale or color) at 300dpi... you might be able to even compress the resulting pdf further without significant loss of clarity. But if you can scan in color or grayscale and still fit it in 4MB, then make sure you do that. Or you can try 600dpi in black&white. You could also try 200dpi and see how the image quality looks. You could also scan everything at 600dpi color and then use some software like Adobe Acrobat Pro (or Photoshop) to change to black and white and reduce to a lower dpi, and then compress further.
wow! thank you. i will start experimenting with that immediately. but let me get something clear. every single document has a max size limit of 4mb or all documents together should have a max limit of 4mb?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Inkblood: 8:34pm On Sep 11, 2015
thesoj:
Oh online route. How would you describe the image quality of the scanned bank statement? Were all the bank logos and numbers clear and visible? Or were they excessively blurred? What scan dpi (dots per inch) did you use? 150? 300? 600? How did you compress your bank statement pages/images? Did you scan it in color or black/white or grayscale? (Pardon the infinite questions... but I've been immersed in image compression runs lately).

My bro is using online and we are working overtime to compress files without losing too much quality. There are some amazing resources for this, especially if one has access to Adobe Acrobat Pro. But still, it can be challenging to keep all the files under 4MB without compromising the quality (and thus credibility) of certain pages. IMHO, the image quality of the bank statements is critical and should not be excessively compromised (even if certain other documents have mediocre image quality).

PS: image and pdf compression approaches have been discussed earlier in the thread but I realize it is hard (yet doable) to maximize image quality while keeping file size small.
damn. didn't think of this. i have two soas. first one is 19 pages for gt and the other is much less. don't know if i can get good quality for the required size of 4mb
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Inkblood: 4:28pm On Sep 11, 2015
Please guys. I heard that going the online route for pgd applicants is usually less favourable. Please is there any element of truth in this? Or should I just go through the paper route? I have a scanner at home though. Thanks in anticipation.

Mac often corrupts PDF forms, especially feature-packed like CIC ones. You have to use original Adobe software to avoid any troubles. When I ordered GCMS I received the consent form, opened it on my Mac and printed as required; then I received an email from visafile.info that the printed form is empty (which it was). I then opened the same PDF on windows computer with Adobe Reader and found that the form was actually pre-filled, and I did not see it on my Mac!

Anyway, even if you apply on paper, barcodes are supposed to be attached to the forms.
Thank you! I have filled the form on a windows computer and finally seen the bar codes. Getting ready for submission on monday.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Inkblood: 4:39pm On Sep 09, 2015
Hello Guys. is there any disadvantage of applying online? meanwhile.. i use a macbook, and after filling my IMM1294E form and validating it, the prompt said the fifth page would contain a bar code. but it did not. the fifth page is basically empty just with a title and listing of all the pages spaced apart. please is this normal? or is there supposed to be a bar code? i tried filling the form again with my windows 7, installed on the mac, but it didn't even load the form at all. .

It's okay to use the SOA like that but isn't it better to print a new one that will show that your school fees was from that same account. It won't really cost you anything
the cost isn't the problem. its just that my funds would be quite depleted after this sch fees payment. i am paying about 1.3m depending on the exchange rate. which would have made my soa look better. although i have already explained in the existing sop that i made the part tuition payments from the account though

Good morning everyone.

This forum was just recently introduced to me.

So I just got an admission and I want to start visa application. So far my issue has been the subject of finances. I have a fixed deposit of about 5M which I thought was quite enough for me. however, I got a company to act as co-sponsor of my living expenses and I would get all the necessary documents. I would also get the following...

Letter of employment (Back dated)
Bond Agreement (To indicate that I a job waiting with them after studies)
Study leave
letter of introduction
Statement of Account
Pay Slips.
letter of sponsorship.
CAC documents

My confusion is that my personal bank statement would not reflect the suppose salary in the pay slips plus, I just have a Fixed deposit certificate (is that accepted), of which the maturity date is in September.

Sages of the six paths of Visa Application, HELP!!
i am using two soas. one is my savings acct that has my fixed and the other is my salary acct that shows my payment
