OP, you have got to be kidding me. Does the word hypocrite mean anything to you?? You complain about these girls yet so stayed and watched them parade around nȧked? And you even go so far as to tell us she gave you a blȯw job?!?! You had knowledge that the establishment was a strip club and you stayed and now you're complaining about the supposed dire state of your countrywomen?!?! What about the men who patronize these establishments? Are they not contributing to it? Stop spewing you pseudo concerns and one sided views when you yourself are guilty of the same crime. Fix yourself before you try or think about fixing others. People like you are sickening!! It really shows the sort of person you are.

Jackieugo:
I get most of them from amazon.com  lipsrsealed If you can't get them, try rubbing just lemon slices on your skin to fade dark spots and marks. A friend of mine uses lime instead of lemon. I need to test to see if it's any better,
Both are fine just as long as they are fresh. I've tried lemons and I've tried limes and they work the same.

hazelle:
thanks, i stay in Festac area of Lagos state.
Well, you should be able to find shea butter at the local market. As for the almond oil, although there are two types, you can use the non-cosmetic type on your skin. The non-cosmetic type works fine as well. You may be able to find it at places where you can buy various types of oil like olive oil, peanut oil, etc.

(that was a joke, hope you are laughing, or at least smiling, if you are frowning, then you need help in the "sense of humor" area ) grin

@OP, Commiting suicide over a broken heart really displays the trait of self-hate in an individual. Why? Coz nigga is going to hell! See! Double Punishment! undecided
Damn, talk about throwin' a Bible at someone grin. I don't think its self hate though. They're obviously in a broken state but I don't think its due to hate. Its more along the lines of hopelessness. If you feel or think you have nothing to lose then death seems irrelevant. Another thing, a lot of people who want to commit suicide, they don't actually want to take their lives, its just that they want to eliminate that pain that they're feeling at that moment.

@OP: You speak as though men don't do under the knife for aesthetic purposes. Some of these things you complain about are what men do as well >>> http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15548276/ns/health-forbescom/ & http://www.forbes.com/2006/10/31/forbeslife_health_cx_avd_1101featslides.html?partner=msnbc . I understand that you're trying to encourage women to embrace their natural beauty but you should think about what you say because body modification isn't something that is only native to women. I was once watching an episode of "True Life: I Want a Perfect Body", the show featured a young man who wanted bigger calves. On a BBC documentary I saw, I saw a young man who wanted to be taller. In that same documentary, I saw a man who wanted a larger peniṡ.

A lot of this stuff is just hype. For me, I'll buy/get/use whatever suits my lifestyle just as long as its not touch screen tongue. I can't stand touch screen phones.

@sofa-dj: Are you an actual dj?

ogugua88:
Lol @ 190. Maybe for your oyibo end, BBs are no longer popular. Here, they are catching up to 9ja. It's unbelievable because I thought people here preferred Android and iPhones. And I hear iPhone will be adding a BBM app? Na wa o. Bbm is a great invention though. For those of us wey get friends and family abroad, it's great because I'd rather bbm then spend $0.14-$0.25/min calling 9ja and $0.18/min calling England. Some go crazy for it though. I've had my phone for months and still have less than 10 people on my bbm list. I can't imagine using that thing to talk to ALL my friends and family. Na die I go dey.

My oyibo friends keep telling me about BB. Before, I would use my bb anyhow. Now, I hide my own because I don't want anyone asking for my bb pin lol.
I think there already is one. I was talking to my sister about it and she said one of her friends has it. I was kinda torn between getting a Blackberry and getting an Iphone [even though I hate touch screens]. Anyway, my sister suggested I get an Iphone and just add the BBM app to it undecided.
FashionRe: Why Do Women Of African Descent Relax/perm Their Beautiful Hair by InkedNerd(f): 7:50am On Mar 27, 2011
@OP: In my honest opinion, a lot of black women relax/perm their hair because they/we have an inferiority complex [which stems from European influences within our societies] when it comes to their hair. A lot of them tend to relax/perm their hair under the premise that it helps manage their hair. For me, that is a load of crap. The relaxers/perms they use on their hair is basically acid--a lot of it is made from drain cleaner and are carcinogens. Since the times of colonialism, we've all been conditioned to think that anything that inherently shows our features as black people is inferior. You pointed out that "You never see women with naturally straight hair trying to curl it up or make it look like those with African hair." but what I think you should have said is "You never see women with naturally straight hair trying to curl it up", having 'African hair' really has nothing to do with it. 'African hair' hair comes in many textures, so there is no one texture to describe our hair. And there are people who do try to attain 'African hair'. Perhaps you've never heard of Asians who try to alter their texture to emulate that of black people with coarse hair. Even those Asians who are altering their hair are using relaxers/perms to do so. And also, perhaps you may not know this as well, but white people get relaxers/perms as well. There only difference is that the relaxers/perms they use is used to make their hair curly. Very few people actually have naturally straight hair.
RomanceRe: Lady Proposing To A Man by InkedNerd(f): 7:31am On Mar 27, 2011
HaveSense1:
The only reason why most people think it is wrong is simply because of the fact that they see it as weird. We've been brought up knowing that the man has to make all the important decisions, make the first move, etc etc. But this is 2011, not 1911. Some rules still apply, but our view on relationships has vastly changed ever since then.

People think that if the man accepts the proposal by the woman than that man is viewed as weak, feminine, unfit to be a man. I say to them, if you think that way, than you, too, are unfit for such a thing because your pride and "manliness" alters your sense of reason and judgment. I see nothing wrong with the sight of a woman proposing to a man.

If you do, then that's you. What I would advise, however, is get with the times, because this is a rapidly changing world. What you thought was right today may not be right tomorrow. Don't be stuck in the stone age because you're not open to change.
Well said. You sound like a man of the times grin

sexylogan:
it's not a bad idea oh.  cool but what if the guy says no? tongue
So? As a man, you run the risk of a woman saying no as well. Its no different. Just because is the one doing the proposing and the man is the one saying no doesn't mean her ego will be any more bruised than the guy.
black women with naturally caucasian hair tend to look a bit weird, imo.  even when pretty. Or maybe it's just me sha. I could be wrong.

i've seen a few like that, with straight, long hair.

The hair will look beautiful but somehow not really matching the features.

i dont know if such people might be descended from melanasians or something. Or tuaregs.

imo, the weaves/wigs look much better, if someone has to go that route.

most subsaharan africans [or nigerians] with naturally straight long hair [like the fulani], tend to weave it, so maybe that's what i'm used to.

black hair is suited to black people's appearance.

just my two cents, not set in stone.
Ewww weaves!!! tongue
Despite what we've all been conditioned to believe, very few people on earth have naturally straight hair [especially white people].

Then again Michael Jackson was the KING of wigs.  He appeared at a televised function where he was thrilling too hard and that wig jumped back.  I saw it.  I was like damn how did his forehead bigger after five minutes previous of seeing a smaller forehead?  Plus his hairline isn't that far back so I could tell if he had on a wig or a piece.
Lmao damn, you didn't know?!?! Take a close look Chima. If you ever see re-runs of the Wendy Williams show, if they talk about Travolta's weird hairline, make sure you pay extra attention.
It used to be a thing of the past where men in general would rake their hand through a white girl's hair without thinking that she has tracks buried in her scalp nowadays that time have changed and white women are having hair problems because of A, B, C reasons.  They are now turning to wigs and weaves that ONCE were a thing for black women.

There is a white woman who is a star on Real Housewives of Atlanta for those who are in the States may know who I am talking about she goes by the name Kim Zolciak and she wears a taped wig.  The taped wig is where a woman would wear the full head wig taped to the edge of her face to "hold" the wig in place.

She does everything in the wig even bathes with the wig on.  She claims that she has some hair condition that prevents her from showing her actual hair but I hear BLACK MEN in general make statements that I find to be premature as if black women are the only one that has a hair "issue".

I was at a function and the host announced that the women with real hair please stand up.  Now mind you this was a professional event and people of high stature were in attendance. The host was a black man and women of color stood up and flaunt their REAL HAIR and the look on the host and white women faces were [bPRICELESS.
Let 'em know. Zolciak is the queen of wigs!!! tongue

Hell, even John Travolta wears lace fronts!! grin

nahh dont think so i dont cheat on my boyfriends and thats why i also havent had alot in the past:d
I'm not saying you'd cheat. I'm just pointing out that if it were the opposite, you'd be fuming about him slapping you. By slapping him, you've given him the ok to slap you back. All in all, you shouldn't be hitting people just because you're upset--whether he cheated of not is irrelevant. If you're gonna hit someone, you should expect them to hit you back as well. Neither one of you should be putting your hands on each other anyway.

FashionRe: Black Women With Caucasian Hair. by InkedNerd(f): 6:25am On Mar 27, 2011
@OP: There are actually black non-African women who have naturally wavyish/straight hair. As a matter of fact, here's a natural hair blog that I frequent. They owner of the site once featured an African American woman who had what you described as "caucasian hair" >>> http://bglhonline.com/2010/12/reflections-of-a-wavy-haired-natural/.

ababda:
There is no such thing as black people hair or white people hair, there is only human hair wink. It ranges from coarse, straight, curly or wavy or mixture of the textures. I am from northern sudan, and i see people both dark and light with all kinds of different hair textures. I also understand certain ethnicities in mainly northern nigeria exhibit these same charactistics as well. Here are some examples.
Well said.
redsun:
I don't care whether my naughty woman is bald,as long as she is beautiful from the inside, reasonable and with some relatively presentable features, she is mine. All that is good in something is good,

Hair is just one of the non vital features of the body,it is more of cosmetics than essential for survival.Africans get to tune in themselves and show their beauty, relevance and intelligence,we are made live not to exist sparsely. Our reality is our existence and it has to be in our control all time.

Everything we do,we have to copy oyinbos,we speak like the oyinbos, eat like the oyinbos, dress like the oyinbos, worship like the oyinbos and even think like oyinbos, one way thinking. We do things as if oyinbos are destined to be better than us.We always have to impose curses on our selves as a people, that we can't be good enough.
Yupp, its sad that there are actually people out there who believe that they are inferior to white people just because of their skin color or hair texture.
OMG!  shocked shocked shocked

We went from "white" people hair to "white" people voice?  The hell?  There are white people in the States that sound as though if their parents were black and they live in Upper Class neighborhoods.  They were not adopted nor displaced.  Their parents is whiter than Snow White and yet if you close your eyes you would have sworn it was a black man or woman you have spoken to according to what people say black people "sound".

How you sound vocally does not have anything to do with which neighborhood you are from or where you went to school.  George Bush Jr for an example.

He was a President of United of America twice and went to an Ivy League primary and secondary school.  He is oyinbo and his family are social elites.  He talks though as if he was born yesterday with a cleft and dumb as bleep.
Lmao, you said a mouth full  grin

ogugua88:
Quite a few actually. The reason no one notices is because the texture of the weave matches their natural hair. Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and Miley Cyrus are just a few white American celebs to mention. If black women wore weaves that were subtle and blended in with their hair, we'd be wondering how many of them wear them. It's because so many go for blue, purple, orange, 6-feet high, and all these other foreign styles that it's easy to label the hair as fake.

Lol @ black men slurring to sound white. You'd be surprised. Some AA's simply sound like that. I do, kind of unfortunate, but I do. He was probably raised in a better neighborhood and attended better schools compared to some of his counterparts.
As usual, well said smiley

Mcleo007:
Hey, dis is wrong!

@op, its a deep sense of complex. Hw many oyibo ladies do u find weaving their hair? This case is similar to black men who, while conversing with a white man slurs their accent to sound like a whitey. That's S̶̲̥̅Ơ̴̴̴̴̴̴͡ disgusting!
If you don't think white women wear weaves then I think you might need a reality check. Take a good look around you and you'll see that a lot of the have weaves as well. Weaves are not just a thing of the black community.
