Romance / Re: Does It Make You A Man-handler If You Like To Style And Cut Hair? by InkedNerd(f): 8:03am On Mar 30, 2012
TisaBone: lol its a word i made up. i don't like manlover. i like man-handler better smiley

Its is a major stereotype. I've met guys who were hair stylists and straight. Such stereotypes are created with the notion that there are certain career/professions that women must have which "feminizes" certain jobs thus giving way to the notion that a man who cuts hair is gay.

190: Ladies nowz ur chance to take me

Why now? Our mama's and papa' always taught us not to pet strange animals grin

koseepaaro: @poster, don't every try to pick-up babe here on nairaland. I tell you, 98% of babes you pick-up from nairaland are all gold diggers. Note that I'm telling you this from personal experience. I've dated two ladies here on nairaland and two of them lasted for 1 year with me but guess what, two of them are BLLB! I would just advise you to put your mind off nairaland if you really need a genuine lady. That's just my advice for you my brother.

Stop grouping all Nairaland girls together. We're not all the same. Yeah, its sucks that some women do that, but they're not a representation of all of us. Just as not all guys here are Nairaland lookin' to get some äss.

Romance / Re: Would You Have Your Best Friend Date Your Brother Or Sister by InkedNerd(f): 7:22am On Mar 30, 2012
@OP: lol my bestie is gay so I know for sure my brother and sister wouldn't want him. I love my bestie but I'd prefer if he didn't date anyone in my family. Things like that don't mix for me. Reminds me of a time when my cousin found out I liked one of his close friends. He personally had no problem. In fact, he actually told me to go for it but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Besides, the guy was only good for looking at and hanging out with. Couldn't see myself dating him or getting involved in anyway.

Chimezie198: ur surprised? Will start by telling u ur age. As for ur virginity, u already know * clears throat* smiley

Oya, tell me my age since apparently you seem to be a psychic smiley
Romance / Re: Can One Truly Find LOVE On Nairaland? by InkedNerd(f): 2:10am On Mar 30, 2012
@OP: As surprising as it may be, you can actually fall in love on Nairaland. People always think it's impossible to really love someone that you've never seen or met but that's not true. Everyone has a different experience. Some people are just luckier than others when its to such matters.

@OP: Hmmm, well there's only one person on Nairaland who knows my actual age and I know for sure that she'll never tell anyone but anyway, I lost my virginity after I graduated from high school. Hehehe, that's why I always say that I was legally an adult by the time I lost my virginity. I can't really say whether or not it was worth it but I did love it!

@OP: Yes, I have come across such people but I don't use it as a means of just writing them off. I usually find a way to get my thoughts and feelings across one way or another, and vise versa.
Romance / Re: If you find out dat ur room mate is a homo, by InkedNerd(f): 8:28pm On Mar 28, 2012
Chimezie198: [b]Flying-ninja and Inkiru. Wait oo! What if you wake up in d night and find her romancing ur body? What are u gon do? Cos she might convert u to a lesbo

Ummm last time I checked, lesbianism wasn't a religion. How is waking up in the middle of the night any different from waking up in the middle of the night to a guy doing the same thing? Stop persecuting ideas of the socially bias stereotypical belief that gay men and lesbians prey on straight people. Even if I woke up to such a thing, I'd give the individuals [once AGAIN, regardless of gender or orientation] that they have overstepped my personal space and that my addressing them at that very moment is a warning.
Romance / Re: If you find out dat ur room mate is a homo, by InkedNerd(f): 8:12pm On Mar 28, 2012
@OP: I personally wouldn't care what the person's orientation was/is, I just hope she doesn't hit because I've never liked the idea of living with people I may potentially be sleeping with or dating, regardless of orientation or gender. Well, there's only one person that I can think of at the moment who is a lesbian who I wouldn't mind rooming with, but that's a whole other story grin

Even basic cohabitation [once again, regardless of gender] is kind of a no no for me though I can bend the rule s bit depending on the individuals.
Romance / Re: Nigerians On Nairaland by InkedNerd(f): 7:14pm On Mar 28, 2012
Ammyng:

Being racist is completely pointless and unnatural. We all cry the same tears! We all smile. racism means discrimination based on colour , nationality , race or sex ,which is unfair because for example black people don't choose to be black they were born black , Indians don't choose to be Indians , so discriminating between people based on something they had nothing to do with. Now clearing the point, Why do black people hate on fellow blacks? I know few Nigerians who always whines about African Americans discriminating against them but here is something else entirely. SMH

I never said that racism was natural. What I said was that these behaviors are found among other people as well. I made no mention of making excuses for discrimination of any sort. Just as black people show hatred towards one another, white people do it as well, as do Asians, Hispanics, etc. No where in my statement did I say that it was ok. Hatred, though some within society is a very prominent aspect of the society we live in and how we treat one another. Just because the hatred one black person/Nigerian may show their countryperson doesn't mean it is any different from hatred of another culture. Hatred, discrimination, racism, are just aspects of the world we live in. Is it ok? Certainly not but I certainly didn't excuse it in my response. While it may appear to be one sided, it's not always as it seems. What have you seen here that you won't find on any other forum that caters to a particular nationality? What have you observed here that you cannot find in many neighborhood all over the world? Even a site such as Facebook with its utilitarian appearance posses such things.
Romance / Re: Nigerians On Nairaland by InkedNerd(f): 6:40pm On Mar 28, 2012
Because we're human beings who possess characteristics no different from that of any other nationality and ethnicity all over the world. It's just human natural in a way. For some it's more present within their lives than others. I'm not gonna lie it is sad and can be somewhat hurtful that people can pass judgement without the slightest regard as to who you are or any prior information but that's a part of the human experience in life. If you go to forums of other nationalities, you'd find much of the same behaviors as well and in some cases, subcultures within the initial culture.
