You sound like an atypical New Yorker though. undecided What about the starbucks coffee, the sandwich lunches and the helter skelter lifestyle? I wouldn't have thought you would be eating such heavy foods like garri. shocked
How so? How does a typical New Yorker sound? I go to Starbucks but rarely. I prefer to go to local cafes to hang out. lol, I have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to the helter skelter lifestyle, but I do eat garri all the time. lol, my family thinks I eat it a little too much. It doesn't usually last more than two weeks in the house if I'm around grin.

Why? arent u a Nigerian? Its tradition,
Yes, I am Nigerian. I believe that it is degrading to women. Not everything that is tradition is a good thing. There was once a time when a person would be buried when a chief passed away. That was once tradition but it doesn't necessarily make it ok or appropriate.

FamilyRe: Search For My Biological Father by InkedNerd(f): 4:52am On Oct 07, 2010
I was raised in Louisiana by my grandmother in a little town called Grambling, I met my mom for the first time when I was 17 and Every time i ask

her about my father she refuses to tell me. My Dad I found out is from Igbo land and since I was 25 I have been looking for my family in Nigeria,

I know he is from Owerri, and I found out recently my name is Ngozi which happens to be igbo,  Please is there anyone out there who can lead me

on the right path to a long search to find my biological father and family?

Thank you for your time and may god continue to bless each and everyone of you,
Lmfao, hmmm ok not to be rude or anything but this sounds almost like the exact same story that Stacie Scott Turner from "The Real Housewives of D.C." She told almost the exact same story that you're telling >>> http://209.81.89.10/the-real-housewives-of-dc/season-1/videos/stacies-birth-father & http://stacieturner.com/blog/2010/10/03/episode-8-no-stones-left-un-turned/ I'll post the full episode online when they have it up on the Bravo website. I saw the 8th episode over the weekend. It was the episode where Stacie met with the Nigerian woman, Stella and they discussed finding her birth father. Almost all of the things you stated from the village where the father is from to the Igbo name is the same thing Stacie said.

@inked I was born out here. Was taken back,Spent time in naija too till I was about 14 then came back. U?
I was born in Nigeria and I lived there till I was about 2 or 3. I've traveled around a bit but this is where I've spent most of my life. Still get homesick though cry. Its weird, even though I didn't spend a lot of time there I still have vivid memories of living in Nigeria. lol, I remember two years ago I was really homesick. Can't wait to go back home though.

Daduke, I'm not one to insult people unnecessarily, but I feel like ripping into u right now. Did I tell u I lack gals? What do u mean "if your age is true"?did anything u write make any sense. And why r u dispensing advice to me, did I seek it? Can't u comprehend that all they tryn to do is hook me up with someone from Nigeria. "IF"/when Inked ever sees what I look like (b4 the party, after the party or if ever) feel free to ask her if I look like I would lack the ability to get the gal of my wishes. This is why folks from Naija be getting on my nerves, they stay putting their foot in their mouth!
Uh oh, fights brewin' undecided.

jaygetta:
Lol. They make me laugh. It aint even like they don't know that I'm not trying to settle down, they know. I mean, yeah, MAYBE a GF but christ not a wife. I think its always more of the "u need a naija wifie instead of all these Akata/foreigners u stay parading about" thingy, Funny thing is my immediate family could care less either way, its the older distant relatives that stay butting their heads into my brick wall. I wouldn't mind a Naija gal, so far as she's lived here for a minute so we can relate, u know,
lol, I get what you're saying. My cousin recently broke up with his girlfriend of 3yrs--felt bag for the girl since his mom was always on his case about her. Even though the relationship was serious, in his moms eyes it was nothing because the girl wasn't Nigerian. I felt so bad for her she used to hit me up online all the time and tell me about how hard things are for her since my aunt didn't accept her. Smh. So where you born in the US or in Nigeria?

I guess some finacially down and short guys here do feel bad whenever the ladies here keep chanting ''HE MUST BE RICH AND ABOVE 6ft TALL''. But never mind guys, theres definitely no problem to worry about.

Now let me tell you this; Concerning the rich aspect, Its impossible for every lady to marry a rich man cos in this world, few are rich and the many rest are either average or poor. Only a few lucky girls will end up marrying the few rich men available, so the rest of the unlucky girls will have no other choice but to hook up with the many average or poor men available. So calm down guys, Let the girls keep looking for the rich men. By the time the search is over and yields no result, they will surely run to the poorest men for succour.

For the height aspect, only the girls that are about 6ft in height may prefer their man more than 6ft tall. But we still have many ladies about 4.5ft tall who will accept guys that are just 5ft tall. So it just depends on the lady's height. A lady's short man can be another lady's tall man. So wipe your eyes guys, wahala no dey at all.
He doesn't need to be rich but it would be nice if he were above 6ft grin
