Good evening everyone,

Just to get a clearer picture of what direction in terms of buying a car out-rightly for like £1000 tops or finance an averagely okay and not too old car for like £3000.

Correct me if i'm wrong please, I'm aware that a car of £1000 will probably have an insurance that is higher than the cost of the car itself and high maintenance..is it really worth it?

Also, will someone that has only resided in the UK for 3 months be able to get a company to finance a car?

I'm looking at Ford Fiesta to be able to reduce the cost of the insurance but don't know about its maintenance compared to Toyota brands.

Please guys let me know your thoughts on this...
Flee from Ford.

If you have money, goan take one on finance. If you don't (like me) goan jejely find one used car below 100k miles and buy. Drive for 6month to one year and switch as appropriate.
You see you're first insurance ba? E go plenty o. Na to apply sense.
My 2pence

Good day everyone and happy weekend
Please I need your candid advice on this issue.
I'm a tier 2 applicant awaiting decision. I'm married with a son though my husband is not relocating with us. I will go alone and bring my child over when I'm fully settled.
My problem now is I got to know I was pregnant when I went for TB test. I had secondary infertility for about two years.
My questions now are
1. My recruitment agency is aware of the pregnancy through the TB test report, am I expected to inform my employer? If yes, how soon?
2. Does NHS cover childbirth cost and postnatal care?
3. I'm hoping to resume for work in the early weeks of September. I'm due to deliver around March next year. How soon can I invite my mum over?
4. How feasible is if for a woman to care for 2 children all alone in the UK? I'll be going to Coleraine in Northern Ireland

Thank you in anticipation as I await your prompt responses and guidance
Coleraine is a nice town. Small but nice.

This TV licence issue came up at the very best time.

I got gifted 2 TVs yesterday. I recently moved house and I haven't gotten any letters from the TV guys to pay or anything.

My question is, should I seek them out and pay or just wait for the letter?

Ps: I have no problems paying for the money. I like my peace of mind.

Use a 5-star reviewed Driving school/instructor, and i hate to be racist, but avoid Pakistani teachers or Asian teachers...in my experience they treat Nigerians like they're punishing us for our bad behaviour or like ATM machine or like we're stupid, except if the Asian instructor is 5-star reviewed....and if he has 1 star and self-reviewed himself with 5-star...definitely avoid!

I heard AA is highly recommended
Sure. Thanks for the feedback.

Good evening fam,

God willing, I passed my theory today. Thanks to everyone who contributed tips.

To the next stage, how much does the practice test cost and how soon can it be taken?

Ps: for anyone who cares to know how I did it. I downloaded the free apps and left them on my phone. Fiddled with it few minutes whenever I felt like. Then bought the full app a day to the exam and binge studied till late in the night. Fell asleep, woke up and continued till I got to the exam center.

Oh, I moved house 2 days to the exam. Point? It's an easy exam. Thanks to fatima04 et al.

Cheers!!

Just download the theory 4 in 1 app and study all the questions well and understand why you miss or get some answers.

For the theory part read questions well and answers and the correct answer will jump at you.
Practise the hazard perception well and don't be quick to tap.
All the best bro.
Thanks alot dear. I appreciate.

My paycheck and new babe na Wetin dey give me joy for this country.. cheesy

Dress nice and act with courtesy and watch as they embarrass themselves with stupid questions.

Ps: Always answer the question of "where are you from" with "here".

Hello fam,

I'm still on the housing hunt. Beautiful houses I saw were somewhat far from my place of employment, thus, I'm still searching for closer locations. Thanks for all your feedback.

This is one of the times I wished I had sorted out this driving license thingy.
Fatima04 sis I'm booked for theory test in a week's time o. You dropped some tips before but I can't find the page it was on again. If you don't mind, a brother needs all the tips he can get. I no wan go and come back again for am.
Everyone is welcomed to chip in ideas.
Thanks and cheers.

Thanks Rubyventures, Lexusgs430, Fatima04 et al.

Following the feedbacks, I think it'll be in the best interest of both parties to have their names on the TA.

If renting a 2 bed or 3 bed property for 2 individuals, will referencing be done on both persons or just one?

We've focused really on bad tenants, but this goes both ways. How do we protect ourselves from bad landlords? Can prospective tenants carryout checks on these LL as well?

Ps: Thanks for all the feedbacks.
