TheGuyFromHR:Overlook the way it’s worded. I don’t mean predominant in a literal “headcount” sense. Withal, thanks for your feedback. I got it sorted already. |
lightest:Facebook marketplace or gumtree but you’ll have to pick it up one phone at a time I guess. On detergents, trial and error till you find one that works for ya. Currently using Sunlight and don’t notice any issues. |
Which city has more blacks between Glasgow and Edinburgh? Maybe a healthy mixture of other races but not predominantly white In a position to advice but I don’t have enough info to do so. |
hustla:Thanks. Figured it out already. |
hustla:Naaa holmes, I rarely use same password on different accounts. Easier to know which account is vulnerable. [s]Anyways, how did you go about changing the password on here?[/s] Sorted |
Considering I only use this password here, has there been a data dump recently? Anyone else get this? Is password change a thing on Nairaland @justwise ?
|
LagosismyHome:Thanks for the feedback. Was on the website and it’s saying ETC can only be issued if pp is lost and it’s for a one way travels. That got me concerned a bit. |
Has anyone gone through the process of applying for Emergency Travel Certificate recently? How much and how long did it take? |
umarwy:Heard those that passed theory and haven’t taken the practical test due to covid will have to rewrite it again. They’re gonna use all avenues possible to recoup lost funds post lockdown |
LagosismyHome:How much is the ETC again? No option than to renew in Nigeria instead. |
Lexusgs430:Naa. I didn’t come across those; growing up. |
Lexusgs430:I would always look forward to the carton of Nasco biscuits my uncle would bring from Kano then. Those stone hardened chin chin too ![]() Good old days meenh. |
chrisj2:Just so we on the same page, it goes way beyond the actual product itself but the gesture behind it. I could give 2 f***s what she does with it. I just wanna see her face lit up when I hand her these overrated bread and the joy in her heart when she knows her baby still remembered and got her one of the overrated bread from “ovas”. Ighotago now? Dazzit ![]() |
Irenenwaka:No doubt, our breads are better tasting but I want grandma to taste this Brioche something from “abroad”. Somehow anything from abroad is believed “better” to some extent. |
Bereallywise:Yeah. That’ll be the best option if they sell Brioche breads because that’s the one I want to get. |
Lexusgs430:I don’t think my grandma will mind the rough handled bread. After all, it’s achicha bekee ![]() |
The village man in me wants to buy bread and take it to naija when I’m travelling. Has anyone attempted this feat? Will it be obtained from me at the security gate? |
umarwy:Look at it this way. If you drive well for like 5 years after getting your full license. Then you enter into the half and half group like I suggested. While halving the something and you now go an bash somebody side mirror, you’ll go relegation and start paying full with normal tariff increases adjustments like for another 5 years or so until you’re eligible for the chop I chop group again. I feel it’ll be a strong incentive to drive carefully. |
nihilistjnr:They’ll manage. It’s the cost of doing business. ![]() |
Lexusgs430:They will adjust the something accordingly. ![]() Imagine paying all that money for years on end without jamming anything. |
Unpopular opinion: We should get back half of our yearly amount of car insurance if we dinnor jam anybody that year. |
Gracezola:If you’ve got questions, I can help. |
starboychan:There’s no fight here. Not even an argument. Just an exchange of ideas. |
Chreze:I do understand how easily one can get lost and get emotional with these discussions but hopefully it doesn’t get that hard on you. I was gonna go way back in time with Africa as a whole in view. But for simplicity, I’ll keep it Nigerian niched. If you’ve noticed, this has gone way past parenting but on actual African underdevelopment. Post colonial civil war showed the vested interests of these powers that wish to hold and exploit what Nigeria still has to offer. We clearly saw British, America and Frances hands in there. Not cause they were sympathetic with the onslaught of Nigerians by Nigerians (how dare they demand freedom. Let those savages kill each other for awhile) but of vested interests in the oil (shell, BP, Elf). Then there was division after. A house divided against itself won’t prevail. However, if we were left alone, do you think we’ll give two fks where the next man standing besides me in this huge oil refinery, Tech hub, Automobile company etc etc company, is from? If we developed our society with everything working. Housing is easy to access, road, sea and air travels are easy and cheap. Credit so I get my own car. All these, like here won’t be a problem cause what is a car but a means of transportation. Also, humans can be mean and wicked. So I won’t absolve the citizens somehow of having a hand in it as well but at the helm of things, there’s a disconnect and this has a profound effect on the common man. Push any animal to the corner and they’ll do anything to breakout. Clear example of this is the IMF conditions of aide to Malawi at point in time. This condition insisted that the Malawian seed and grain reserves be sold off. Prompting the plunge into famine of the country and its citizens. Of course the IMF when called out denied it. I’m in no way saying your beliefs are flawed, I’m just saying Africa would be better off without these meddlers. We as people also have a long way to recovery. “We’re corrupt and selfish. We can’t ma manufacture our own vaccine. Take ours or die, we manufacture nothing” Yet, their installed puppet leaders will loot funds and bring them here to hide and they’ll keep mum about it. Why not refuse it. Take the money back to Africa. Help your people you thief! Call them out and shame them but naaaaaaaaaaa!!! Africa is where they want it to be. They won’t let go. If Africa unites and kicks against, they’ll come at it with everything they have. |
wallg123:Disclaimer: I’m not “attacking you”. Just sharing knowledge and hoping to learn too. Africa’s predicament has nothing to do with this. Maybe a negligible amount. Hear me out. This Africa you see is truly the raw material of the world. Europe, Asia and North America depend heavily on it. They will never let it go. They will never let it have the right leaders. The ones that go against them will get toppled or worst, killed. Then there’s the IMF debt strategy and the so called aide and “poverty alleviation”. Look at China and it’s low-key moves in Africa right now. They wouldn’t even use local manpower. They’ll import their workers too. Look at our school curriculum and the entire educational infrastructure. How are we to compete? The greatest trick was making use believe it’s our fault all along. “You are corrupt and stupid” Blame yourself. Divert your attention from the fact that for every barrel of crude oil, we get very little proceeds back. Tons of raw materials leave the shores of Africa for shikini money. They need it that cheap. Major industrialisation will not be allowed, least our eyes open and we realise the potential of what we have. A nation can only rise above and meet today’s standards through industrialisation. Manufacturing what they use. Well look around Africa na. Unrest, dictatorship and famine. Nothing tangible is working. Shey wen you have constant electricity, water, housing and good healthcare system then you’ll diversify more? Then enters mass brain drain for greener climes. Leaving Africa worst off. They install your leaders. Why was Charly in the north at the height of political tension between GEJ and PMB? Yaradua’s death was a huge loss to us because that man wasn’t having it. That was quickly closed off with tensions between Niger delta and the north. There’s money in chaos. Everyone is out to grab for himself. Get into naija politics and it’ll be well revealed. Nobody dey run anything. It’s money to share they’re all after. It’s not our fault. There’s powers preventing us from rising above. For a minute, imagine this was naija here. You realllllllly think I’ll up and leave when my naira is the highest currency in the world? |
Disclaimer: I don’t have a kid yet. This is just my experience. On the issue of spanking. Kid’s will grow up and turn out how they’re destined to turn out. Whopped or not. No region has the monopoly to dredges in the community. This is sorely dependent on the environment. The poorer the society, the more crimes it breeds. If you like flog fire. I was opportune to grow up in a yard. So I’ve seen first class what it effects are. Papa KC is always quick to anger, so KC always got legendary whoop a***s. He developed a tough hind after years. So, it was natural he fought his father during one of those sessions. KC was a good kid, he just needed patience and understanding. Me on the other hand, I never forgot my first WhoopA... my crime, I came 20 out of 39 one term like that. Let’s just say I’m always top five the rest of my academic life. However I was bugging that term. For some reason I felt and believed all my classmates were smarter and I couldn’t compete. I hated maths. I knew I needed something to pull me out that rot or tell me otherwise. My mum’s “agña” sure provided it. Pops is not a fan of WA. He’ll rather have The Talk with you than lay his hands on you. I hated the talk. I never made the same mistake again after The Talk. Mum on the other side loves her assorted whoop weapons. In summary, the two is essential to moulding a child’s behaviour from that young age. Above all, knowledge is key. Why you did something that was unacceptable and the impact it had on people around you. “Is this what you want your junior ones to copy” “this family has a reputation. Don’t drag it through the mud” etc etc etc. We also had roles and responsibilities as kids. No one renegades on theirs. From head to last born. We understood responsibility and owning up to one’s shortfalls and asking for help were we struggling. Also, we only ever get to see our parents morning before they left for work and at night when they returned. Then weekends some. So the eldest done the cooking, someone done the laundry, another cleaned the house and last born washed plates. We weren’t saints as kid’s but we turned out fine cause we knew to always think things through. If I decide to have kids, I’ll whoop them, have the talk with them and keep them very busy and engaged. That’s the formula I hope to adopt. Thanks for reading |
LagosismyHome:Oh thanks for this. |
LagosismyHome:Used to think I’ll need only fingerprints but being clarified. I’ll just wait till it expires and apply for emergency travel one and renew in Naija. |
RalphJean:Oh, no idea. This my first time to renew. Done all that during registration initially. Well thanks for the heads up sir. |
Braket:Nope. Sony Xperia 1ii |
RalphJean:Scan and send? |
Gentlemen and ladies, While we are on issue of expired passport; what will be the implications of sending off the expired or almost expiring passport to get renewed in Nigeria and get sent back without actually travelling? |
to catch up because normally they are very slow and never in a hurry
... truly nobody won stay naija again
