Mamatukwas: Wawu!! Thanks. That's a lot of money for the 1st month then. Na wa. I think it's a one time deposit which you get back at the end of your tenancy and you choose to leave the apartment. To get all your money back, you have to restore the apartment to what it was when you moved in. So make sure to take inventory and snap pictures for future reference. Also, the deposit is usually the amount of the rent pcm, make sure your "landlord" secures this deposit in a Tenancy Deposit Scheme. He/she should give you written information about your deposit within 28 days of payment. If he didn't deposit it for protection with TDS and didn't give you the written information after 28 days, you fit contact Environmental Health Office and he risks being fined up to £20k. That's the little I know about this. |

Madisonsqua: Typical Nigeria mentality and egoism that lead us to where we are.....If you are working for an Asian or European who can hardly speak or write in English, u would use ur third sense to comprehend all their blunders. But when ur fellow brother or sister make mistakes, it becomes a crime. If u can't comprehenend what she wrote, then u should check your comprehension skill and it also means u can't work in a multi-cultural environment because she wrote much better than most Asian i've met...BE real and grow-up bro....if you're trying to be like the white, u will behave whiter than the white. How many Native European,American,Asian and pasifika speak correct English. You know what? You're right. Have a blessed day sir |

chukxie: She said she left Nigeria ten years ago to study abroad. No where did she say she studied for ten years abroad. She didn't specify how long she studied for. However, she did say she's lived abroad for ten years. Could it be you didn't comprehend what she said? I couldn't get to comprehension phase because I couldn't READ it. Does this make sense to you? |

Lexusgs430: If you do not have any insurance history in the UK, expect a huge insurance bill.
And your insurance bill be as high as £3000.......... The smaller the engine and how unpopular to area boys and the post code you reside, would determine your total insurance bill.
Do you presently have a UK driving licence? If you do, how long for? No driving license just yet. |

DisGuy: To add to what mr Lexusgs430 said... you can easily pick up a car....but as a jjc or newly qualified UK driver your insurance could be well over £3000 ....the bigger the engine the higher the premium....also depending on your location Tiri thosan kini? Per annum abi monthly? |

fatima04: Uncle Inkredible is tired of buses . I feel you jare. How you dey prepare for driving test. My sister, I never even enter their buses since I arrived o. No be when you see am and you wan go far place you go enter? My place to basic malls and town center no far. I trek my thing jare!! But, it's getting harder to do now. Sometimes, na only me go dey road dey trek. People go dey drive dey pass, plus also being the only black dude in the town, I dey always standout like that. My driving test go come when I don put the necessary stuffs in place. I want if I pass test today, then na from there I dey go pick up my ride o. Simple like that. |

Lexusgs430: Would you be using vehicle on a combination of trips? Driving to and from work, social etc etc etc Mostly everything with it. This is a laid-back town without much activities or bus traffic thus, you'll have to wait for sometime for it to come around. Mostly, instead of waiting in the freezing cold, I just trek it. It's not too a place but surely needs a ride to get around as much. I don't even want to get started on the taxis... Bunch of ripoffs. Besides, I'll need to go back to school asap to get my certs up for juicy positions, so yeah, I'll be needing a small golf or Peugeot 406 to be getting by. Buying it won't be a problem but na how much e go dey chop me monthly based on insurance, tax etc I wan know about. Phew!! I hope you get my point? |

Lexusgs430: To own a car, not a big deal.... You could get a decent banger for as little as £500.......
You must be insured, have a full UK driving licence, Vehicle must be road funded and MOT must be valid....
The smaller the engine displacement, the cheaper the cost of maintenance (usually)
No point buying a Honda legend and expect the running cost to be lower or equal to the cost of maintaining a Honda Jazz......... Thanks for the feedback. On a average, how much could be shelled out on a monthly basis to run a mid range car? |
