DanjaNinja: I don't agree with you. What really matters is your profile, how well you present yourself and the grace of God. I know countless people on this thread who have had their Visa's approved yet were not sponsored by their biological parents. I also know countless people on this thread whose "Dad" was the sponsor yet were denied visas. Like I previously said, its your profile that matters - did u take any standardized test? (+1) How well can u explain ur choice of school and course? (+1) Can u articulately explain your relationship with your sponsor, sponsor's source of income n reason sponsor is sponsoring you? (+1)
That said, even with a well packaged profile, you could get denied (vo's could be funny @ times) but the odds are in your favour. This is where the grace of God comes in cos with prayers, all things are possible.
Hope I have convinced u as well as allayed the fears of all those with non biological parents as sponsors that having a non sponsor does not in any way affect your chances of getting a visa? This sounds like a debate though but right on point |

warriboy21: Thks u sir. Wat bout fixed deposit account Fixed deposit ain't advisable as well because you can decide to fix for two years or more, access to the fund may still be denied depending on the terms and conditions of the bank. The school has specified exactly what type of account to use, I'll suggest you look for a way to meet the school specified criterion. I wish you all the best sir. |

warriboy21: Pls bosses My school emailed me today dat d bank statement I sent is not going to work. In dia words :
These aren't going to work. It needs to be a checking or savings account- something where the cash is available right now. This is all the US government will accept.thanks
D soa is fr stanbic bank n it's like a pension savings account.. Pls help I'm sorry about that sir. I almost fell into that trap. They don't accept pension account, such fund can only be accessed after retirement, consequently, not available for immediate use. Kindly look out for someone with a savings or current (checking) account. |

@modelboy, you are not doing bad but I can guarantee you that you won't be able to answer all the questions on this thread. There are a thousand and one unique cases that you may not have had experience on. If I were you, I'd rather respond to people's questions accordingly, that way, people won't see you as showing off, by coming to the thread to say exactly what you can do. That being said, I feel it's also expedient to allow people test your credibility, lend people your social capital and the accrued interest will be unimaginable. However, keep doing what you know how to do best. Well done modelboy, I want to be like you when I grow up, but I'll like to be "modelman" |

ScholarAkassi: Quick Question to the Gurus in the House
I received an alert that my visa is ready for pickup. However, I don't have any government issued Photo ID to collect the passport at the DHL Office. Unfortunately, the INEC guys refused to give me my PVC may be it could have been useful now. I am planning to submit a copy of my appointment letter, photocopy of my passport, and a government issued certificate of state of origin. Will the above documents be accepted from me as a proof to colelct my passport and visa. bbdd and other gurus in the house I will be expecting your reply All u need is the white paper given to you at 5he embassy for pickup. It's your image on the passport and the visa. You don't need anything sir except the pickup letter. |

jenns: #R.I.P to the dead...so sad to hear such a bad news. I need an urgent answer guru's in the house .
I deferred my Spring admission to Summer but I couldn't get the i20 on time due to a family friend bad belle in failing to send it on time ,which he has finally sent it on Tuesday. but my fear now is , I have mailed the admission officer to defer to fall but my dad insist I travel this summer since my i20 is available .
what are the consequences of travelling now since I had earlier deferred the admission or am I go to go since my summer registration is still on. Is the sevis ID number on the new i20 the same as the previous one? If yes, no issue but if otherwise, transfer your sevis fee to the new sevis ID. Furthermore, if the stated resumption date is still valid for the summer then you are good to go. In some cases, if the school had resumed a week before now, you could request for an extension letter to ease your reception at the POE. Finally, if your school has gone far with classes, I'd strongly suggest you email your graduate coordinator, present a genuine reason and hope the school will issue another I20 for fall. You can only defer once in my school, I don't know about others. Best of luck in your pursuit of excellence. |
