Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, has reportedly received another set of six girls who escapes from Boko Haram terrorists, with one of them pregnant, Newspremises reports.

They were said to have been kidnapped at various locations by terrorists during attacks in northeast Nigeria.

The girls are aged between 20 to 25 years.

According to, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo, Commissioner for Women Affairs, “the victims who were freed, ran away from Boko Haram custody at Buni Yadi axis of Yobe State and trekked through the Sambisa forest for about six hours before they were rescued by security operatives.

“The three of them were abducted on the 3rd of October 2020, while the other ones were abducted on 5th of May, 2021.”

Gambo told governor zulum that, the three who were kidnapped at Takulashu village of Chibok are Maryam Ishaya with one child, Racheal Simon with two children, and Esther Ayuba with two children, while Alheri Ezekiel has two children,. Victoria Andrew and Victoria James also with two children were kidnapped from Cofure village, Hong town in Adamawa State.

Newspremises recalls that, on 14th April, 2014, armed Boko Haram members attacked Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok and whisky away over 240 female students, since then more than half of them escaped or were released, with many still in captivity.

However, Zulum who expressed happiness over the new incident, recieved the freed school girls and their children in his office at the Musa Usman Secretariat, Maiduguri.

The girls were said to have been received alongside some parents, Chairman of Chibok Local Government Area, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, traditional rulers, stakeholders, including the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Borno chapter, Bishop Williams Naga.

Addressing the them, governor Zulum said, the government was doing everything possible to ensure speedy reconstruction and reintegration of all victims of Boko Haram insurgents into the society.

“I am very happy to receive you my daughters after you felt prey to Boko Haram terrorists. We thank God Almighty for rescuing and protecting you from the hands of terrorists.

“As government, we will do everything possible to reintegrate and support you to continue a normal life into the society as we hand you over to your respective families,” he said.

Zulum also noted that the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari, in collaboration with Borno State Government and security agencies will act appropriately to profile thousands of surrendered Boko Haram insurgents, especially farmers and the innocent ones who were abducted and forcefully asked to join the terrorists’ group.

Operatives of Katsina State Police Command have apprehended mother, her daughter, alongside another woman, for concealing petrol in their bag to take to bandits in the forest, Newspremises reports.

The suspects were reportedly picked up by a team of policemen, operating along Katsina-Jibia road on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

SP. Isah Gambo, the State Police command spokesperson, paraded the three suspects at the state police headquarters on Thurday.

The suspects who had however, confessed to have committed the offence, are all said to be residents of the Malali Quarters, in Katsina metropolis.

“These women that you are seeing here were arrested along Jibia-Katsina road with these bags pretending to be normal travellers going to Magama in Jibia, a border town with Niger Republic.

“What they do is engaging in smuggling of petrol to bandits in Jibia forest but nemesis caught up with them and they were arrested with these exhibits.

“These exhibits you are seeing are not just travelling bags but they are loaded with petrol meant to be taken to the forest for the bandits.

“The suspects are Umma Bello, 45 years of Malali Quarters here in Katsina metropolis, Nusaiba Muhammad, 16 years and Dija Umar 50 years all of the same address.

“It may interest you to know that the suspects, while confessing to have committed the offence, also revealed that many of them in the area are involved in the business.

“What they do is to engage the services of ‘okada’, motorcycle riders to buy the fuel for them in their motorcycle tanks from filling stations and then take it back to Malali quarters for them where they siphon the fuel from the motorcycle tanks and then arrange them into bags like these to avoid the eagle eyes of the security agencies while taking it to the forest to sell to bandits,” SP Isah Gambo said.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 26 internet fraud suspects in Asaba, the Delta State capital, Newspremises reports.

EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, made this known in a statement on Thursday September 23, 2021.

The suspects are identified as; Ezeabia Lucy, Ossai Chioma, Okoh Ekene, Okoduwa Bright, Jefferey Nwabunike, Egonu Ikechukwu, Onwudiachi Martins, Ofili Junior, Ejimofor Celestine.


Joseph Diamond Olisa, Frank Sunday, Calvin Emmanuel Ojara, Afoye Powede Joshua, Chima Bright Ojara, Micheal Emmanuel Chukwuka, Okonkwo Chukwuemeka Promise.

Iyoha Oseiwe Frankie, Ezeabia Prince Chinedu, Ohuhwai Charles. Adudu Nonso, Jude Omonike Akon, Chibuike Nnanna Ife, Bieni Collins, Ebuka Ekechi, Ossai Okey and Chukuma Paul.

They were reportedly picked up at locations in Chiemeke Onochie IV, Parkacin and Jonathan Monye streets in Asaba.

EFCC accused the suspects of impersonation, possession of fraudulent documents and defrauding foreign nationals.

Lexus RX350 (Reg: ASB-436-AM), Toyota Camry SE (Reg: BKW-132-MT), Lexus RX350 (Reg: KTU-126- FP), Toyota Corolla (EYC-AMB-3), Toyota Venza, land documents, phones, laptops and other incriminating items were recovered.

They will be charged to court after further investigations are concluded.
