West Ham forward Michail Antonio has been voted EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for Augus, Newspremises reports.

Antonio was recognised for his outstanding start to the 2021/22 campaign, which sees him lead both the goals and assists charts after three rounds of top-flight matches.

Fans across the world voted the Jamaica international to victory for an outstanding month that also saw him become West Ham's all-time record Premier League goalscorer and reach 50 top-flight goals in Claret and Blue.

"It's amazing, to be fair!" he smiled. "I go out and do my job and to get the gratitude and awards for doing it is amazing.

"August was just another month, you know! To be fair, it's amazing. I saw that I was quite close to becoming the record holder and I've been going for it and now I want to get as far ahead as possible so nobody can catch me!"

Antonio was the favourite to win the trophy for a second time, following his triumph in July 2020, and deservedly won it following a truly outstanding August that saw him net four goals and assist three more.

The new No9 has scored in all three games so far, netting once in the 4-2 win at Newcastle United, twice in the 4-1 home win over Leicester City and once more in the 2-2 home draw with Crystal Palace.

In addition, Antonio also registered an assist in all three matches, setting up Benrahma’s header at St James’ Park and the Algerian’s first-time finish against the Foxes at London Stadium, then providing the cut-back for Pablo Fornals to open the scoring against the Eagles last weekend.

To further strengthen his case, the 31-year-old has taken more goal attempts (16) than any other Premier League player, while also playing seven key passes in addition to his three assists.

Antonio's triumph comes just over a year after he won the Premier League Player of the Month award for the first time, and days after he made his senior international debut for Jamaica.

He becomes the sixth West Ham player to win the trophy, following Stuart Pearce (February 2001), Anton Ferdinand (January 2006), Scott Parker (February 2011), Diafra Sakho (October 2014) and Jesse Lingard (April 2021), and the second Jamaican after Wimbledon midfielder Robbie Earle, who was recognised in February 1997.

This time around, Antonio held off the challenge of fellow nominees Hammer Saïd Benrahma, Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso, Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier, Everton winger Demarai Gray and Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood to win

The chief executive officer (CEO), of Air Peace, Allen Onyema has fulfilled his promise to the Super Eagles of Nigera after they defeated Cape Verde 2-1 in their 2022 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, Newspremises reports.


The Super Eagles reportedly landed Nigeria on 8th of September and were immediately greeted by a team Led by the CEO of Air Peace, Allen Onyema.

Star players like Thiago Silva, Fred, Fabinho, Emiliano Martinez, Gabriel Jesus and five others others have been banned by FIFA from representing their clubs during premier league games for the next five days.

FIFA rules state that players can be ruled out for any club games five days following the international break should the clubs refuse to release them for the matches.

Man City will be without Gabriel Jesus and goalkeeper Ederson while Manchester United will be without Fred.

Interestingly, Everton are allowed to select Richarlison for their next game as the club has good relations with the Brazilian FA.

The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, and his wife, Folu Adenike Adeboye, celebrate their wedding anniversary today, September 8, Newspremises reports.

Today make it their 54th wedding anniversary.

Their son, Leke to took to his Instagram page this morning to celebrate them, and he wrote:

''Happy wedding anniversary. 54years. Wow! May God keep you both as you show us it's possible.''

Adeboye was born on 2 March 1942 in Ifewara, near Ife, in Osun State, Nigeria.Born from a very humble background, he recalls that even poor people called them poor.

Pastor Adeboye was 25-year-old while his wife Foluke was 19-year-old when they got married on December 17, 1967.

He is a father of four children (three sons and a daughter) and several grandchildren from the marriage.

Real Madrid have reportedly made a £137m (€160m) bid to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain(PSG), Newspremises reports.

The La Liga giants reportedly made the offer on Sunday August 21, and Paris Saint-Germain are yet to respond to their proposal.

Mbappe is out of contract at the Parc des Princes next summer and he has so far refused to sign a new deal, despite PSG's attempts to get the France international to commit his future to the club.

The 22-year-old has told PSG that his dream is to play for Real Madrid, who have been linked with a move for the World Cup winner throughout the summer transfer window.

Mbappe has scored 133 times and made 63 assists in 174 games for PSG in all competitions and has helped them towards 11 major domestic honours, including three Ligue 1 titles.

He arrived from Monaco on an initial season-long loan in 2017 and was signed permanently for £165.7m a year later.

It was earlier reported that the deal would see Mbappe move to Real Madrid with Cristiano Ronaldo to move to PSG from Juventus.

Ronaldo is also out of contract next summer and has not told Juventus he wants to leave, but the Serie A club would not stand in his way if another club bid for him.
