Most of our clients would rather buy an apartment and finish it to their taste, however, if you can’t afford buying an apartment, your solution is probably to lease one. Though moving to a new apartment can be very exciting, in most cases, finding a good apartment to rent could be a daunting task.

There are things you should consider before renting an apartment, here are some hints to make sure you’re prepared before you make any commitment.

The first and foremost thing to consider when searching for a new place is location. Whether you are looking for an apartment in close proximity to specific points of interest or want to live in a certain neighborhood, determine the general area you would like to live.

If you do not have a particular area in mind, examine the surrounding areas, making sure to acquire a good sense of the overall character of each before making your decision. When possible, visit each location to get acquainted with the environment and absorb the overall feel of the neighborhood.

After narrowing down your search to a general area, you must decide where you want to live within that area. Are there particular points of interest you wish to be near, such as a park in which you can jog or walk your dog? Do you want to be within walking distance of work, school, or nightlife? Will you rely on public transportation? Identifying specific points of interest and recognizing the desired surroundings further narrows down your searching area.

The second thing to consider is the amount you are willing and able to pay each month in rental fees. You must determine your price span and set a maximum amount for the rent. By searching within an established rent range, you ensure that you only look at viable options. Remember, if you are planning on living with others, this range should be established according to the constraints of the lowest maximum

You have to determine the length of time you are looking to rent, as many properties require minimum lengths of stay, generally for 6 months to a year. If you want or need a month-to-month rental, your options may be reduced and you should expect slightly higher fees.

Check for amenities in the neighbourhood, Check the parking situation: does the complex have a garage? Is parking out in the open? Determine whether the complex has its own maintenance superintendent. Other items to check out are intercom systems, clubhouse, swimming pool, hot tub or fitness center. Find out if the complex offers extra storage space to residents. Drive through the immediate area to determine the proximity of businesses and restaurants you might frequent.


With the economic crisis hitting hard on the real estate market, the costs are much lower than they used to be, so those who are looking for apartments for rent will also receive better deals.

Often times most people are more interested in the distance to the center. It’s up to the client to decide if he prefers to spend more time and petrol driving the distance, just to live in a quiet place, or will deal with traffic and noise. The closer the apartments for rent are from the center the more the rent will be, which is pretty understood.
